Evening shifts in the distance learning system are required for primary school students

Doha: Citizens called on the Ministry of Education and Higher Education for the adoption of evening shifts in the distance learning system for primary school students, to enable parents to follow their children during live broadcast classes, especially in light of the significant decline in academic achievement for children who has difficulties pursuing their lessons without directing parents, noting that the distance learning system did not take into account the conditions of working mothers and the functional associations of parents.
Male and female citizens said, in statements to Al-Raya, that working mothers suffer from a decline in the level of educational attainment of their children in the primary stages as a result of their poor concentration in the live broadcast classes, and the need to fully re-explain the lessons to them after returning from work, pointing out that applying evening shifts of the remote study system for primary school students is the best solution so that mothers can follow up the classes of their children and abide by the calls of MOEHE to the need for parents to cooperate to follow up on the attendance and progress of the educational plan for children during the live broadcast classes.
They stressed the need to provide lessons recorded on the ministry’s website or the school’s website to help both students and parents, as such lessons help parents follow up their children during school in the evening period.
They also called for the reintroduction of the blended education system with the actual alternate attendance in the school building for students of public and private schools, and the adoption of an average attendance rate of 50% of the capacity of school buildings, noting that children during the first school stages urgently need to learn skills that they can only acquire by actual attendance, such as language, discussion, social relations and other life skills that require their integration into their small community represented by the school.
They called on the ministry to reduce school working hours and reduce the duration of the class to 30 minutes instead of 45 minutes due to difficulties facing children in comprehending live broadcast classes that are taught to the student, stressing that the E-learning system prompted parents to study their children’s curricula in order to be able to teach them after returning from work, as well as most families resorting to private tutors because of the difficulties children face in absorbing school subjects.

الدوحة: دعا مواطنون ومواطنات وزارة التربية والتعليم والتعليم العالي إلى اعتماد دوام مسائي في نظام التعلم عن بُعد لطلبة المرحلة الابتدائية، لتمكين أولياء الأمور من متابعة أبنائهم أثناء حصص البث المباشر، لا سيما في ظل التراجع الكبير في التحصيل الأكاديمي بالنسبة للأطفال الذين يصعب عليهم متابعة دروسهم دون توجيه الوالدين، مشيرين إلى أن نظام التعلم عن بُعد لم يراعِ ظروف الأمهات العاملات والارتباطات الوظيفية للوالدين.
وقال المواطنون والمواطنات، في تصريحات لـ الراية إن الأمهات العاملات يعانين من تراجع مستوى التحصيل العلمي لأبنائهن في المرحلة الابتدائية نتيجة ضعف تركيزهم في حصص البث المباشر، والاضطرار لإعادة شرح الدروس لهم بالكامل بعد العودة من الدوام، مشيرين إلى أن تطبيق نظام الدراسة عن بُعد في الفترة المسائية لطلبة المرحلة الابتدائية هو الحل الأمثل حتى تستطيع الأمهات متابعة دروس الأبناء والالتزام بدعوات وزارة التربية والتعليم إلى ضرورة تعاون أولياء الأمور لمتابعة حضور وسير الخطة التدريسية للأبناء خلال حصص البث المباشر.
وأكدوا ضرورة توفير الدروس المسجلة على موقع الوزارة أو موقع المدرسة الإلكتروني للتيسير على الطلبة وأولياء الأمور، حيث تساعد مثل تلك الدروس أولياء الأمور في متابعة أبنائهم أثناء الدراسة في الفترة المسائية.
ودعوا إلى إعادة العمل بنظام التعليم المدمج بالحضور التناوبي الفعلي في المبنى المدرسي، لطلبة المدارس الحكومية والخاصة، واعتماد متوسط نسبة حضور 50% من الطاقة الاستيعابية للمباني المدرسية، لافتين إلى أن الأبناء خلال المراحل الدراسية الأولى بحاجة ماسة إلى تعلم مهارات لا يستطيعون اكتسابها إلا بالحضور الفعلي مثل اللغة والمناقشة والعلاقات الاجتماعيّة وغيرها من المهارات الحياتية التي تتطلب اندماجهم في مجتمعهم الصغير المتمثل في المدرسة.
وطالبوا الوزارة بضرورة تقليل ساعات الدوام المدرسي وخفض مدة الحصة إلى 30 دقيقة بدلًا من 45 دقيقة لصعوبة استيعاب الأبناء دروس البث المباشر التي يتم تلقينها للطالب، مؤكدين أن نظام التعلم الإلكتروني دفعهم لدراسة مناهج أبنائهم ليقوموا بتدريسهم بعد العودة من الدوام، فضلًا عن لجوء معظم الأسر للدروس الخصوصية بسبب المصاعب التي يواجهها الأبناء في استيعاب المواد الدراسيّة.
