QNL Holds Seminar on Post-World Cup Era as Cultural Salon Kicks off

Doha: The activities of the Cultural Salon, organized by Qatar National Library in cooperation with Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), kicked off Monday evening with a seminar entitled ‘we and the world after the World Cup’ with the participation of HE Minister of State and President of Qatar National Library Dr. Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al Kuwari, President of Hamad Bin Khalifa University Dr. Ahmad Mojahed Omar Hasna, and a group of academics and intellectuals.

The speakers were HBKU’s professor of political science Dr. Ibrahim Arafat and former director of beIN Sports channels Ayman Jada. It was moderated by HE President of the Qatar Press Center Saad Mohammed Al Rumaihi.

HE Dr. Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al Kuwari said in a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) on the sidelines of the seminar that the cultural salon, which will be held monthly, will be a qualitative addition to the cultural movement in Qatar in various cultural institutions as part of QNL’s efforts to raise awareness with various state institutions to revitalize cultural life. His Excellency noted that the salon dealt with this topic as a result of the successes achieved by the World Cup in Qatar at all levels.

His Excellency revealed that the library will document the events of the World Cup scientifically and professionally so that this legacy is available to researchers, as the national library is distinguished by its ability to document, and it has the equipment and work team to accomplish the task of documentation accurately and professionally.

His Excellency highlighted the communication between the QNL and the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC) to work on this project, and the best companies will be selected to complete the task of documenting the World Cup events.

Dr. Hasna highlighted the QNL-HBKU cooperation to launch the cultural salon, which comes to enhance the QNL’s leading role in spreading culture, indicating that the topic of the seminar affirms the importance of this historical event of the World Cup hosting.

HE Al Rumaihi said that Qatar was able to win the honor of organizing the World Cup, as it provided a civilized model in preparation, organization and management for Qatar to present the most wonderful and beautiful edition based on Qatar’s history in hosting international tournaments before the World Cup.

Dr. Arafat confirmed that the legacy of the World Cup in Qatar is still rich and benefits researchers in various fields, pointing out that this period is the period of evaluation, not only at the academic level but also at the political level, alluding to the changes and relationships that emerged after the World Cup.

Dr. Ibrahim Arafat stressed that there are a set of conclusions that can be drawn from the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, and these are that the tournament was not just a sporting event but rather a political, cultural and economic one, in addition to being a smart employment of soft power, such as making Arab traditional garments go vogue amongst international audiences, in a global manifestation of pride.

Arafat indicated that a symposium will be organized next week, in which foreign authors and experts at HBKU, will speak on the impact of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 on the West.

For his part, journalist Ayman Jada said that football become part of the culture and is confirmed as humanity’s largest unanimously loved human activity, transcending from being a game to becoming a contemporary human activity around which many revolve.

Jada added that Qatar succeeded in organizing the World Cup, with the tournament breaking many records, remarking Qatar’s hosting of numerous international tournaments, confirming the power of intent and implementation, resulting in a legacy supported by all indicators.

A number of attendees expressed during the Cultural Salon the importance of documenting the legacy of the World Cup, ways to benefit from this success, ways to optimally make use of World Cup stadiums, and achieving sustainability, in addition to discussing how the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 enhanced the presence of women in Qatar athletically.

الدوحة: انطلقت مساء الأمس فعاليات الصالون الثقافي، الذي تنظمه مكتبة قطر الوطنية بالتعاون مع جامعة حمد بن خليفة، بعقد ندوة بعنوان “نحن والعالم بعد كأس العالم”، وذلك بحضور سعادة الدكتور حمد بن عبدالعزيز الكواري وزير الدولة ورئيس مكتبة قطر الوطنية، والدكتور أحمد مجاهد عمر حسنه رئيس جامعة حمد بن خليفة، وجمع من الأكاديميين والمثقفين.

تحدث خلال الندوة الدكتور إبراهيم عرفات أستاذ العلوم السياسية بجامعة حمد بن خليفة، والإعلامي أيمن جادة المدير السابق لقنوات /بي إن سبورت/، وأدارها سعادة السيد سعد بن محمد الرميحي رئيس مجلس إدارة المركز القطري للصحافة.

وقال سعادة الدكتور حمد بن عبدالعزيز الكواري في تصريح لوكالة الأنباء القطرية /قنا/ على هامش الندوة: “إن الصالون الثقافي الذي سيقام شهريا، سيكون إضافة نوعية لما تشهده بلادنا من حراك ثقافي مشهود من قبل المؤسسات الثقافية المختلفة ضمن جهود المكتبة الوطنية في التوعية مع مختلف مؤسسات الدولة لتنشيط الحياة الثقافية”، منوها بأن استهلال الصالون بهذا الموضوع جاء نتيجة ما حققته بطولة كأس العالم في قطر من نجاحات على كافة المستويات.

وكشف رئيس مكتبة قطر الوطنية عن أن المكتبة سوف تقوم بتوثيق أحداث كأس العالم توثيقا علميا ومهنيا ليكون هذا الإرث متاحا للباحثين، حيث تتميز المكتبة الوطنية بقدرتها على التوثيق، ولديها الأجهزة وفريق العمل لإنجاز مهمة التوثيق بدقة واحترافية.

ولفت إلى أنه تم التواصل بين مكتبة قطر الوطنية واللجنة العليا للمشاريع والإرث للعمل على هذا المشروع، وسوف يتم اختيار أفضل الشركات لإنجاز المهمة لتدوين كل شيء عن كأس العالم، بداية من إعداد ملف الاستضافة وحتى نهائي البطولة بنجاح بالصوت والصورة والكلمة.

وكان الصالون الثقافي قد بدأ بكلمة للدكتور أحمد مجاهد عمر حسنه حول تعاون جامعة حمد بن خليفة ومكتبة قطر الوطنية لإطلاق الصالون الثقافي، الذي يأتي تعزيزا لدور المكتبة الوطنية الرائد في نشر الثقافة، مشيرا إلى أن افتتاح الصالون بندوة “نحن والعالم بعد كأس العالم” جاء لأهمية هذا الحدث التاريخي، وأنه كان بمثابة برهان ثقافي على القدرة على تنظيم الفعاليات الكبرى من ناحية، وإظهار الصورة الحقيقية للعرب والمسلمين في العالم أجمع من ناحية أخرى، مؤكدا على الدور الثقافي والحضاري الذي لعبته بطولة كأس العالم في قطر ليكون مفتتحا للصالون الثقافي.

من جهته، قال سعادة السيد سعد بن محمد الرميحي : “تمكنت قطر من نيل شرف تنظيم المونديال، فقدمت نموذجا حضاريا في الإعداد والتنظيم والإدارة لتقدم قطر النسخة الأروع والأجمل”، مشيرا إلى أن هذا جاء بناء على تاريخ قطري في احتضان البطولات الدولية سبق تنظيمها للمونديال.

وأكد الدكتور إبراهيم عرفات أستاذ العلوم السياسية بجامعة حمد بن خليفة أن إرث كأس العالم في قطر ما زال ثريا يستفيد منه الباحثون في مختلف المجالات، لافتا إلى أن هذه الفترة هي فترة التقييم، ليس فقط على المستوى الأكاديمي، بل على المستوى السياسي كذلك، فهناك تغييرات حدثت بعد كأس العالم، وهناك علاقات جديدة نشأت تأثرا بكأس العالم.

وقال: “النموذج القطري يحتاج إلى دراسة عميقة وفق معامل الصبر القطري، حيث بدأت رحلة الإعداد منذ 2 ديسمبر 2010 وحتى 20 نوفمبر 2022 شملت 12 عاما، فيها 4380 يوم عمل ، مؤكدا أن بطولة كأس العالم قد مثلت العرب جميعا، ليعيد الإحساس بالهوية العربية.

وأكد الدكتور إبراهيم عرفات أن هناك مجموعة من الدروس يمكن استنتاجها من المونديال، فلم تكن البطولة حدثا رياضيا بل سياسيا وثقافيا واقتصاديا، إلى جانب التوظيف الذكي للقوة الناعمة، مثل الثوب العربي الذي تحول إلى فخر عالمي، مشيرا إلى أنه سيتم خلال الأسبوع المقبل استضافة ندوة يتحدث فيها كتاب وخبراء أجانب، في جامعة حمد بن خليفة، عن أثر المونديال في الغرب.

ومن جهته، قال الإعلامي أيمن جادة: إن كرة القدم أصبحت جزءا من الثقافة، وقد أثبتت أنها أكبر نشاط أجمعت البشرية على حبه بأكبر الفضاءات، فهي ليست لعبة بل نشاط إنساني معاصر يدور حوله الكثيرون.

وقال: إن قطر نجحت في تنظيم كأس العالم، وشهدت البطولة أرقاما قياسيا عديدة، لافتا إلى أن قطر استضافت الكثير من البطولات الدولية، وأكدت قوة الفكر وقوة التنفيذ، وسجلت نجاها بحروف من ذهب بناء على كافة المعطيات والمؤشرات.

وشهد الصالون الثقافي العديد من المداخلات من الحضور حول أهمية التوثيق لإرث كأس العالم، وكيفية الاستفادة من هذا النجاح، وكيفية الاستثمار الأمثل لملاعب كأس العالم، وتحقيق الاستدامة، وكيف ساهم المونديال في تعزيز حضور المرأة في قطر رياضيا.. وغيرها.
