Qatar’s Visitors’ Number Surges 295.2 Percent YoY in January

Doha: The total number of inbound visitors reached about 340,000, recording a monthly decrease of 44.5 percent (compared to December 2022) and an annual increase of 295.2 percent (compared to January 2022). The highest number of visitors was from the Gulf Cooperation Council at 42 percent. As for visitors by type of port, the visitors via air make up the highest percentage with 44 percent of the total number of visitors.

The Planning and Statistics Authority’s 109th issue of (Qatar; Monthly Statistics) bulletin for January 2023 showed that one of the most prominent changes in this issue is the increase in total new drivers licenses at a monthly rate of 206.6 percent. There was also an increase in the total number of new vehicles registered at a monthly rate of 40.2 percent (compared to December 2022). The total traffic violations increased by 78.4 percent (compared to December 2022). The excess speed (radar) recorded the highest monthly increase rate of 210.9 percent (compared to December 2022).

The demographic statistics revealed that the total population of Qatar has increased from 2.79 million at January 2022 to 2.95 million at January 2023 at an annual rate of change of 5.8 percent, and it increased monthly by 1.6 percent (compared to December 2022).

Regarding to Vital Statistics, 2261 live births have been registered during January 2023. Also, a decrease in the total Qatari live births by 7.1 percent comparing to last month. On the other hand, 236 deaths were recorded during the same period, an increase of 4.4 percent compared to December 2022.

Moreover, January 2023 witnessed a monthly increase of 11.5 percent and 20.8 percent of total marriage contracts and total divorce certificates respectively compared to the previous month. The total number of marriage contracts reached 339 marriage contracts, while the total number of divorce certificates reached 128 cases.

As for the Social Security statements, reached QR 78 Million in January 2023, for 14281 beneficiaries, Recording a monthly increase of 0.8 percent for the value of social security and a monthly increase of 0.8 percent for the number of beneficiaries of Social Security.

As for the Banking Sector; Total Broad Money Supply (M2) recorded about QR 703 Billion during January 2023, an annual increase of 14.9 percent compared with January 2022. On the other hand, cash equivalents; including Commercial Bank Deposits, attained for QR 960 Billion during January 2023. As it was on January 2022.

Regarding the data of buildings permits issued, the total number of permits has reached 721 permits during January 2023, recording a monthly increase of 36.8 percent and an annual decrease of 5.0 percent.

The total number of registered new vehicles during January 2023 has reached 6389 new vehicles. The figure showed a monthly increase of 40.2 percent and showed an annual decrease of 20.0 percent.

Traffic accidents cases without counting the accidents without injuries, a total of 788 traffic cases were recorded during January 2023, showing a monthly decrease of 20.6 percent and an annual increase by 9.9 percent. Light injuries are accounted for most traffic accidents cases during the same month, with 91 percent, followed by severe injuries by 7 percent. However, 15 deaths were recorded, equivalent to only 2 percent of total traffic accidents cases.

وأفادت نشرة قطر “إحصاءات شهرية”، في عددها الجديد الصادر عن جهاز التخطيط والإحصاء، اليوم، أن أكثر عدد الزوار القادمين من دول مجلس التعاون بنسبة 42 بالمئة، أما فيما يخص الزوار حسب نوع المنفذ فقد شكل الزوار عن طريق الجو النسبة الأعلى بـ44 بالمئة من إجمالي عدد الزوار.

ومن أبرز المتغيرات التي رصدتها النشرة خلال شهر يناير الماضي، ارتفاع إجمالي التراخيص الجديدة للسائقين بمعدل شهري قدره 206.6 بالمئة، قابله ارتفاع إجمالي المركبات الجديدة المسجلة بمعدل شهري بلغ 40.2 بالمئة (عن شهر ديسمبر 2022)، كما ارتفع إجمالي المخالفات المرورية بنسبة بلغت 78.4 بالمئة (عن شهر ديسمبر 2022)، مسجلة السرعة الزائدة (الرادار) أعلى معدل ارتفاع شهري بنسبة بلغت 210.9 بالمئة (عن شهر ديسمبر 2022).

وبالنسبة للبيانات المتعلقة بقضايا الحوادث المرورية دون احتساب الحوادث بلا إصابات، فقد بلغ إجمالي عددها 788 خلال شهر يناير، مسجلا بذلك انخفاضا شهريا بنسبة 20.6 بالمئة، وارتفاعا سنويا قدره 9.9 بالمئة، وقد سجلت الإصابات الخفيفة الغالبية العظمى من قضايا الحوادث المرورية خلال نفس الشهر بنسبة 91 بالمئة، تليها الإصابات البليغة بنسبة 7 بالمئة، أما بالنسبة للوفيات فقد بلغت 15 حالة وفاة، تعادل 2 بالمئة فقط من إجمالي قضايا الحوادث المرورية.

وفي السياق ذاته، أشارت البيانات إلى أن مجموع المركبات الجديدة المسجلة خلال شهر يناير الماضي، بلغ 6389 مركبة جديدة، بارتفاع شهري نسبته 40.2 بالمئة، وانخفاض سنوي بنسبة قدرها 20 بالمئة.

وكشفت النشرة ذاتها أنه، فيما يخص الإحصاءات الحيوية، فقد بلغ إجمالي المواليد أحياء 2261 مولودا خلال يناير، فيما سجل إجمالي المواليد الأحياء القطريين انخفاضا بنسبة 7.1 بالمئة عن الشهر الماضي، في حين بلغ إجمالي عدد الوفيات 236 حالة وفاة، مسجلا ارتفاعا بنسبة 4.4 بالمئة عن شهر ديسمبر 2022.

وشهد شهر يناير 2023، ارتفاعا شهريا بنسبة 11.5 بالمئة و20.8 بالمئة في إجمالي عقود الزواج، وإجمالي إشهادات الطلاق على التوالي، حيث بلغ إجمالي عدد عقود الزواج 339 عقد زواج، في حين بلغ إجمالي عدد إشهادات الطلاق 128 حالة طلاق.

أما عن بيانات الضمان الاجتماعي، فقد بلغت قيمتها 78 مليون ريال في يناير لعدد 14281 مستفيدا، مسجلا ارتفاعا شهريا قدره 0.8 بالمئة لقيمة الضمان الاجتماعي، كما شهد ارتفاعا شهريا بلغ 0.8 بالمئة لعدد المستفيدين من الضمان الاجتماعي.

وفيما يتعلق بالقطاع المصرفي، فقد بلغت قيمة عرض النقد الواسع (2) حوالي 703 مليارات ريال خلال يناير الماضي، مسجلة بذلك ارتفاعا سنويا بلغت نسبته 14.9 بالمئة مقارنة بشهر يناير 2022، بينما بلغت قيمة شبه النقد الذي يشمل ودائع البنوك التجارية حوالي 960 مليار ريال خلال شهر يناير 2023، واستقرت قيمة شبه النقد.

وبخصوص بيانات رخص البناء الصادرة، فقد بلغ إجمالي عددها 721 رخصة خلال شهر يناير، مسجلة بذلك ارتفاعا شهريا بلغت نسبته 36.8 بالمئة، وانخفاضا سنويا قدره 5 بالمئة.
