41st Issue of “Window on Economic Statistics of Qatar” Released

Doha: The Planning and Statistics Authority (PSA) has released the 41st the quarterly publication “Window on Economic Statistics of Qatar”.

The reference quarter of this issue is the second quarter of 2022, (Q2 2022). All the latest available macro-economic indicators, relating to National Accounts, Prices, Public Finance, and the Balance of Payments have been assembled in a single report.

It is a very handy report and is meant to help diverse users, in particular, policy and decision makers.

This publication comprises three parts, the first part presents a dashboard comparing the economic performance of Qatar with other economies and regions, in terms of three indicators: (i) Real GDP annual growth rate, (ii) CPI (y-o-y) change and (iii) Current Account Balance as percentage of GDP, as well as data series (quarterly and annual) on some thirty economic indicators. The second part presents an analysis of the quarterly statistics relating to GDP, CPI, PPI, Exports and Imports and compares the performance in the second quarter of 2022 with that of the corresponding quarter of 2021 as well as that of the previous quarter (Q1, 2022). While the third Part contains articles on specific topics. The title of the article presented in this issue is ” Development of Data Collection Process in the Prices and Indices Section”.

The article reviews the experience of the Prices and Indices Section in the area of e-linking with the sources of consumer prices data and what e-link means. In addition, the article addresses the positive aspects of this linking on data collection process and extracting the required indicators.

الدوحة: أصدر جهاز التخطيط والإحصاء العدد الحادي والأربعين من المنشور الربعي “نافذة على الإحصاءات الاقتصادية لدولة قطر”، حيث يمثل الربع الثاني لسنة 2022 الفصل المرجعي لهذا العدد، الذي يجمع أحدث مؤشرات الاقتصاد الكلي المتوفرة والمتعلقة بالحسابات القومية والأسعار والمالية العامة، وميزان المدفوعات في تقرير واحد.

ويهدف هذا التقرير العملي إلى مساعدة مختلف مستخدمي البيانات، خاصة صانعي السياسات ومتخذي القرارات.

ويتألف هذا المنشور من ثلاثة أجزاء، يقدم أولها مقارنة لأداء اقتصاد دولة قطر مع اقتصادات الأقاليم الأخرى من حيث ثلاثة مؤشرات هي: مؤشر معدل النمو السنوي للناتج المحلي الإجمالي الحقيقي، ومعدل التغير السنوي لمؤشر أسعار المستهلك، ومؤشر ميزان الحساب الجاري كنسبة من الناتج المحلي الإجمالي، علاوة على سلاسل بيانات (فصلية وسنوية) لحوالي ثلاثين مؤشرا اقتصاديا.

فيما يقدم الجزء الثاني تحليلا للإحصاءات الربعية المتعلقة بالناتج المحلي الإجمالي، ومؤشر أسعار المستهلك، ومؤشر أسعار المنتجين والصادرات والواردات، ويقارن الأداء خلال الربع الثاني لسنة 2022 مع الربع المقابل في سنة 2021، وكذلك الربع السابق (الربع الأول 2022).

بينما يحوي الجزء الثالث مقالا بعنوان: “تطوير عملية جمع البيانات في قسم الأسعار والأرقام القياسية”، وهو يستعرض تجربة قسم الأسعار والأرقام القياسية المتعلقة بالربط الإلكتروني، مع مصادر بيانات أسعار المستهلك وماهية الربط الإلكتروني.. كما يتناول المقال الجوانب الإيجابية لهذا الربط على عملية جمع البيانات في القسم واستخراج المؤشرات المطلوبة.
