Hassad Food: 35,000 Tons of Green Fodder Produced over Three Years

Doha: Hassad Food, Qatar’s investment arm in food and agribusiness sectors, announced the production of approx. 35,000 tons of green fodder (Alfa Alfa, Rhodes & Barley) through the company’s local investment, over a period of three years, with the aim of supporting the local livestock sector to contribute to achieving food security for the State of Qatar.

In line with Hassad’s investment strategy, which includes supporting and developing projects that supports in achieving self-sufficiency, Hassad increased the locally cultivated land area to approx. 10M sqm, spanning over three farms in Irkiyyah, A’Riffa and A’Sailiya (specialized in producing green fodder). Moreover, Hassad developed a plan that includes developing 5 additional pivots for green fodder production, spanning over 1.8M sqm.

Furthermore, Hassad allocated two pivots on an area of 600,000 sqm for pivot irrigation via solar energy – as the company activated this system for the first time in the local fodder production sector, in line with Hassad’s plans to utilize the use of renewable energy in agriculture. Hassad also has a plan to increase the number of pivots that operate via solar energy to six pivots, bringing the total area to 1.8M sqm.

Additionally, Hassad provided alternative animal feed products (fodder cubes and grass) with affordable prices for livestock owners, to ensure the availability of commodities throughout the year and stabilize the prices – these alternative products have high nutritional value, as they contain a high percentage of protein and are suitable for feeding all types of livestock.

The company’s products are available through 8 sales points distributed across the country in: Al Shehaniya, Al Mazroua, Semsema, Al Wakra Central Market, Al Wakra, Abu Nakhla, Al Karaana and Irkiyah.

Three additional sales points are planned to open in Al Khuraib, Al Rayes, and Al Khor, to meet the needs of livestock owners from animal feed.

الدوحة: أعلنت شركة حصاد الغذائية، الذراع الاستثمارية لدولة قطر في القطاع الغذائي والزراعي، عن إنتاج ما يقارب 35 ألف طن من الأعلاف الخضراء (البرسيم والرودس والشعير) عبر استثمارها المحلي، على مدار الأعوام الثلاثة الماضية.

وقالت الشركة اليوم: إن إنتاج هذه الكمية من الأعلاف يهدف إلى دعم قطاع الثروة الحيوانية المحلي، والمساهمة في تحقيق الأمن الغذائي لدولة قطر، مشيرة في هذا الصدد إلى أنها زادت مساحة الأراضي المزروعة محليا إلى ما يقارب 10 ملايين متر مربع، مقسمة بين ثلاث مزارع تابعة لـ “حصاد” ومخصصة لزراعة الأعلاف الخضراء في مناطق أركية والرفاع والسيلية.

وأوضحت “حصاد” أنها وضعت خطة مستقبلية تشمل إضافة 5 محاور جديدة لإنتاج الأعلاف الخضراء، تمتد على مساحة أكثر من 1.8 مليون متر مربع، وذلك تماشيا مع استراتيجية الشركة الاستثمارية التي تشمل دعم وتطوير المشروعات التي من شأنها تحقيق الاكتفاء الذاتي.

كما خصصت محورين على مساحة 600 ألف متر مربع تعمل بنظام الطاقة الشمسية للري المحوري، حيث قامت بتفعيل هذا النظام للمرة الأولى في قطاع إنتاج الأعلاف المحلي، تماشيا مع خططها الهادفة إلى فتح مجالات جديدة لاستخدام الطاقة المتجددة في الزراعة، ووضعت الشركة كذلك خطة لزيادة عدد المحاور التي تعمل بنظام الطاقة الشمسية للري المحوري إلى ستة محاور، لتصل المساحة الإجمالية إلى 1.8 مليون متر مربع.

وقالت الشركة إنها وفرت خيارات بديلة من منتجات الأعلاف (مكعبات الأعلاف والحشائش) بأسعار مناسبة لمربي الماشية؛ لضمان توافر السلع طوال العام، واستقرار الأسعار، وتتميز هذه المنتجات بقيمتها الغذائية العالية، حيث تحتوي على نسبة عالية من البروتين، وتناسب تغذية جميع أنواع الحيوانات (الحلال).

يشار إلى أن جميع منتجات شركة حصاد متوفرة في 8 منافذ بيع موزعة في أنحاء الدولة في كل من: الشيحانية، والمزروعة، وسمسمة، وسوق الوكرة المركزي، وأبو نخلة، والكرعانة، وأركية، وقد تم وضع خطة لتطوير 3 مراكز بيع إضافية في الخريب، والرويس، والخور، وذلك لضمان قرب منافذ البيع من تجمعات العزب؛ لتلبية احتياجات أصحاب الحيوانات من المنتجات العلفية.
