“Honey” Festival Kicks off at Al Mazrouah Yard

Doha: The week-long “Honey” festival, which is organized by the Ministry of Municipality, represented by the Agricultural Affairs Department, kicked off on Thursday at Al Mazrouah Yard in Umm Salal Central Market.

Head of the Agricultural Guidance and Services Section at the Agricultural Affairs Department Ahmed Salem Al Yafei said that 25 of participating Qatari farms will showcase its products from honey with its various types, in pursuit of marketing the local products, supporting Qatari farms and attracting the masses to the yards to further capitalize on the showcased products from vegetables and fruits.

He called on the public to attend this festival which is held from 7 am, until 2 pm.

The Ministry of Municipality has been organizing such events with the engagement of several Qatari farms and local companies specialized in producing honey and marketing it to farms, along with a wide range of local products from vegetables and fruits.

الدوحة: بدأت الخمبس فعالية /الكنار والعسل/ التي تنظمها وزارة البلدية ممثلة بإدارة الشؤون الزراعية، وتستمر لمدة أسبوع في ساحة المزروعة لبيع المنتج الزراعي المحلي بسوق أم صلال المركزي.

وقال السيد أحمد سالم اليافعي رئيس قسم الإرشاد والخدمات الزراعية بالوزارة، إن 25 مزرعة قطرية مشاركة، ستعرض منتجاتها من الكنار والعسل بمختلف أنواعهما، بهدف تسويق المنتجات المحلية، ودعم المزارع القطرية، والعمل على جذب جمهور للساحات للاستفادة من المعروضات سواء الخضراوات أو الفواكه.

ودعا الجمهور لحضور هذه الفعالية التي تقام بالساحة المذكورة من الساعة 7 صباحا وحتى 2 ظهراً .

يذكر أن وزارة البلدية دأبت على تنظيم مثل هذه الفعاليات بمشاركة عدد من المزارع القطرية والشركات المحلية المتخصصة في إنتاج العسل بغرض التسويق للمزارع ومختلف أنواع المنتجات المحلية من الخضراوات والفواكه، وتنشيط عمل الساحات الزراعية، وجذب مزيد من الجمهور إليها، لتأتي مثل هذه الفعاليات داعمة ومكملة لنشاطها.
