Municipality Ministry Launches Zero Waste Competition for School Students

Doha: The Ministry of Municipality announced the launch of a “zero waste” competition, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, to encourage students to participate in the “zero waste” campaign and create new ways to dispose of waste, recycle and protect natural resources.

The competition, which will run from January 22 to March 2, aims at the participation of public and private school students in the three academic stages: primary, preparatory, and secondary, to show their creativity in expressing its subject, through flexibility, originality, innovation, and creating an aware generation of the importance of waste by developing a methodology of thinking about its management.

It also aims to educate and attract young people to volunteer work, spread the message and goals of the “zero waste” campaign so that it reaches the largest segment of society,

and highlight the importance of waste disposal through recycling and use, which leads to reducing the need for the use of raw materials, with Preserving the sustainability of natural resources, which contributes to improving the quality of life.

In a statement on Saturday, the Ministry of Municipality stated that the “zero waste” competition includes three sub-competitions in the fields of drawing and photography, including (watercolor – acrylic – pencil – various materials), the digital art competition, which includes (awareness poster – video – digital design – digital photography), and the handicraft competition (waste recycling).

The ministry indicated that there are 27 awards, including nine awards for each educational stage in the three sub-competitions, and determined the financial value for each stage and its distribution, as well as the participation mechanism, controls and required technical standards. It warned that the artwork must be based on the students’ creativity and innovation, adding that a specialized internal school committee will sort the artworks, select the best of them, and submit them for nomination and competition to win prizes.

الدوحة: أعلنت وزارة البلدية عن إطلاق مسابقة /صفر نفايات/ بالتعاون مع وزارة التربية والتعليم والتعليم العالي ، لتشجيع الطلاب على المشاركة في حملة /صفر نفايات/ وابتداع طرق جديدة للتخلص من النفايات وإعادة التدوير وحماية الموارد الطبيعية.

وتهدف المسابقة التي تستمر اعتبارا من 22 يناير الجاري وحتى 2 مارس القادم إلى مشاركة طلاب المدارس الحكومية والخاصة بالمراحل الدراسية الثلاث: الابتدائية، الإعدادية، الثانوية لإظهار إبداعاتهم في التعبير عن موضوعها، من خلال المرونة والأصالة والابتكار، وخلق جيل واعِ ومدرك لأهمية النفايات عبر تطوير منهجية التفكير بشأن إدارتها.

كما تهدف إلى توعية واستقطاب الشباب للعمل التطوعي، ونشر رسالة وأهداف حملة “صفر نفايات “بحيث تصل إلى أكبر شريحة من فئات المجتمع، وتسليط الضوء على أهمية التخلص من النفايات من خلال إعادة تدويرها واستخدامها، ما يؤدي إلى تقليل الحاجة إلى استعمال المواد الخام، مع الحفاظ على استدامة الموارد الطبيعية، بما يساهم في الارتقاء بجودة الحياة.

وأوضحت وزارة البلدية في بيان اليوم أن مسابقة “صفر نفايات” تتضمن ثلاثة مسابقات فرعية في مجالات الرسم والتصوير، ويشمل ذلك (الألوان المائية -الأكريليك – القلم الرصاص – الخامات المتنوعة)، ومسابقة الفن الرقمي وتشمل (بوستر توعوي – فيديو – التصميم الرقمي – التصوير الرقمي)، ومسابقة الأشغال اليدوية (إعادة تدوير المخلفات).

وأشارت الوزارة إلى أن العدد الإجمالي لجوائز المسابقة يبلغ 27 جائزة، بمعدل 9 جوائز لكل مرحلة تعليمية بالمسابقات الفرعية الثلاثة، وحددت القيمة المالية لكل مرحلة وتوزيعها، وكذا آلية المشاركة والضوابط والمعايير الفنية المطلوبة، ونبهت إلى أن العمل الفني يجب أن يكون من إبداع الطالب نفسه ومن ابتكاره الأصيل، على أن تقوم لجنة مدرسية داخلية مختصة، بفرز الأعمال الفنية واختيار أفضلها ورفعها للترشح والمنافسة على الفوز بالجوائز.

وبينت أنه يمكن الاطلاع على تفاصيل المسابقة والشروط والجوائز ومعلومات عن حملة صفر نفايات، من خلال الموقع الإلكتروني للمسابقة: https://www.mm.gov.qa/static/zerowastecomp/index.html وكانت وزارة البلدية قد دشنت مؤخرا حملة “صفر نفايات ” تحت شعار ” نفايات أقل .. مدينة أجمل” بهدف الوصول لمستوى متقدم من إدراك المجتمع لأهمية النفايات كجزء من استدامة الموارد، وتحقيق العديد من الأهداف الرامية لتحسين إدارة النفايات، بما يساعد في التخفيف من تأثيراتها على صحة وسلامة المجتمع، وأيضا تحسين جودة الحياة، تحقيقا لأهداف رؤية قطر الوطنية 2030.
