Qatar Airways, Air Serbia Sign Comprehensive Codeshare Agreement

Doha: Qatar Airways has signed a comprehensive codeshare agreement with Air Serbia, the flag carrier of Serbia, allowing passengers seamless travel to over 40 destinations when travelling on each others networks effective 01 February 2023.

Qatar Airways currently operates five weekly flights between its hub in Doha, Qatar and Belgrade, the Serbian capital. The codeshare agreement opens up a host of new exciting destinations for its passengers to use a single booking to continue their journey to European countries such as Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Slovenia among others served by Air Serbia.

HE Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Akbar Al Baker, said: “This partnership will allow us to expand our footprint in the Central and Eastern European markets where we are looking forward to offering additional travel choices for our customers. We are extremely proud to unveil this partnership with Air Serbia, the leading airline in this region since it was founded in 1927 and we look forward to working effortlessly together.” From its hub at Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport, Air Serbia serves more than 70 destinations in Europe, the Mediterranean, North America, Asia and Africa. As a part of this collaboration, Air Serbia will add its marketing code on Qatar Airways direct flights between Belgrade and Doha, as well as various points beyond Doha including Adelaide, Baku, Brisbane, Tbilisi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hong Kong, Melbourne, Muscat, Nairobi, Perth, Seychelles, Singapore and Sydney. Additionally, subject to obtaining all necessary government approvals and once all conditions are fulfilled, Air Serbia plans to extend its coverage to Bangkok, Cape Town, Johannesburg, Phuket, Seoul, Tokyo, Yerevan, Zanzibar and many more.

Air Serbia, Chief Executive Officer, Jiri Marek, said: “It is our great pleasure to announce the codeshare agreement with Qatar Airways, known for its global network of destinations and premium service. We are joining forces to provide passengers with new connection opportunities and access to unique destinations from both networks. Through this cooperation, we believe that we will be able to jointly bring to Serbia more traffic and opportunities for trade and tourism, as well as to increase the traffic between the two hubs.” Qatar Airways currently flies to more than 150 destinations worldwide, connecting through its Doha hub, Hamad International Airport.

The national airline of the Republic of Serbia, has been operating under the name Air Serbia since October 2013, when it changed its name and identity, introducing new business concepts and services throughout its growing network. It is the successor of the first airline company in this area – Aeroput, which was founded in June 1927.

الدوحة: وقعت الخطوط الجوية القطرية، اتفاقية شاملة للرمز المشترك مع طيران صربيا، تتيح للمسافرين خيارات السفر إلى أكثر من 40 وجهة عالمية على متن إحدى الناقلتين اعتبارا من الأول من فبراير المقبل.

وتشغل الخطوط الجوية القطرية عبر مقر عملياتها، بمطار حمد الدولي، خمس رحلات أسبوعية إلى العاصمة الصربية بلغراد.. وبفضل هذه الاتفاقية، سيتمكن المسافرون من مختلف أنحاء العالم من الحجز لمواصلة رحلاتهم بكل يسر وسهولة على متن كلا الناقلتين، وذلك من خلال حجز واحد، لعدد من الوجهات في أوروبا مثل البوسنة والهرسك، الجبل الأسود، سلوفينيا، وغيرها من وجهات طيران صربيا.

وقال سعادة السيد أكبر الباكر الرئيس التنفيذي لمجموعة الخطوط الجوية القطرية: “ستعزز هذه الشراكة من مكانة الخطوط الجوية القطرية وتدعم خططنا التوسعية في أسواق أوروبا الوسطى والشرقية، مما يتيح المزيد من خيارات السفر لمسافرينا في هذه الأسواق.. نحن فخورون بهذه الشراكة الجديدة مع طيران صربيا الرائد في هذه المنطقة منذ تأسيسه عام 1927 ونتطلع قدما للتعاون المشترك بين الناقلتين الوطنيتين”.

ويشغل طيران صربيا من مقر عملياته، مطار نيكولا تيسلا في بلغراد رحلات إلى 70 وجهة في أوروبا، منطقة البحر الأبيض المتوسط، أمريكا الشمالية، آسيا وإفريقيا. وكجزء من هذه الشراكة، سيضيف طيران صربيا رمزه على رحلات الخطوط الجوية القطرية المباشرة بين بلغراد والدوحة، إضافة إلى وجهات أخرى متنوعة مثل أديلايد، باكو، بريزبن، تبليسي، هو تشي منه، هونغ كونغ، ميلبورن، نيروبي، بيرث، سيشل، سنغافورة وسيدني.. وحال أخذ الموافقات الحكومية اللازمة، وتحقق كافة الشروط، يعتزم طيران صربيا زيادة وجهاته نحو بانكوك، كيب تاون، جوهانسبرغ، بوكيت، سول، طوكيو، يريفان، زنجبار وغيرها من الوجهات.

من جانبه، قال السيد جيري ماريك الرئيس التنفيذي لطيران صربيا: “نحن سعداء لإعلان اتفاقية الرمز المشترك مع الخطوط الجوية القطرية، الناقلة الشهيرة بشبكة وجهاتها العالمية وخدماتها الاستثنائية. سيقدم تعاوننا مع الخطوط الجوية القطرية للمسافرين أفضل خيارات السفر المتعددة عبر وجهات كلا الناقلتين. وسيضمن هذا التعاون المزيد من حركة المسافرين إلى صربيا وزيادة الفرص التجارية والسياحية، إضافة إلى زيادة حركة السفر في مطاري حمد الدولي ونيكولا تيسلا”.

وتمتلك الناقلة القطرية أسطولا ضخما يمكنها من تسيير رحلاتها إلى أكثر من 150 وجهة عالمية، عبر مقر عملياتها، مطار حمد الدولي.

وتعمل الناقلة الوطنية لجمهورية صربيا تحت اسم طيران صربيا منذ أكتوبر 2013، عندما غيرت اسمها وهويتها وقدمت مفاهيم وخدمات تجارية جديدة عبر شبكتها. وهي خليفة أول شركة طيران في هذا المجال Aeroput التي تأسست في يونيو 1927.
