SC Cultural Activation Program Amazes Fans during FIFA World Cup

Doha: In between 64 matches and 29 days of dramatic action on the field, millions of football fans enjoyed a spectacular display of cultural and entertainment activities at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

As part of the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC) Cultural Activation Program, 16,190 performers from around the world contributed to Qatars country-wide festival at key locations, including stadium precincts, the Corniche, FIFA Fan Festival, Al Messila Bus Mall, Brahat Al Janoub and Madinatna fan accommodations, as well as the grand finale on Qatar National Day with artists concluding their journey by being part of the parade at Lusail Boulevard.

The Cultural Activation Program recorded the participation of artists from 44 different nationalities during the tournament.

“These performers played a huge part in the success of the World Cup. We are humbled by their dedication. When fans walked away from matches either disappointed or victorious, these performances created beautiful moments of human connection,” said Khaled Al Suwaidi, SC Stakeholder Relations Director.

“One of the many lessons that this tournament has proved is that we are more similar than different and that we are all connected in our humanity. This World Cup enabled people to embrace each others culture and connect through food, music, art and fashion and make friendships that will last a lifetime,” added Al Suwaidi.

Over 3,350 acts covering 15 locations and over 128 activation spots took part in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. Those included an array of artists belonging to the categories of visual arts, crafts and heritage, fashion and design, performing arts and theater, music, film and screening, and much more who delivered live performances throughout the tournament to celebrate with fans.

Lulwa Al Mohannadi of the Al Nahda Ladies Group, which performs traditional Qatari dance and song, said that they were honored to have represented their country on the global stage.

“Many fans were surprised to learn about our rich cultural heritage. Many were eager to learn more about it. Qatars hosting of the World Cup is an opportunity for open dialogue and cultural exchange and it makes us proud to have showcased our local culture with millions from around the world,” said Al Mohannadi.

Members of Viento Norte, an Argentine music band that specializes in combining Latin American and Argentinian cumbia with pop and rock music, enjoyed seeing fans resonate with their music.

“We came all the way from Argentina and to see large crowds form around us here in Qatar was inspiring. Being part of this lifetime event provided great exposure, which is a big advantage for us. We were thrilled to play our music and see fans interact with each other through our music,” said Group leader, Carlos Adrian Seif.

The talented percussionist from Jordan, Nawaf Al Ezza said: “My experience was unique and distinctive, and it contained invaluable moments in the World Cup. Being able to share my talent and passion with the world through this world stage was amazing”.

الدوحة: استمتع جمهور بطولة كأس العالم FIFA قطر 2022، التي اختتمت منافساتها الشهر الماضي، بباقة متنوعة من الفعاليات ضمن برنامج التجربة الثقافية والترفيهية، الذي نظمته اللجنة العليا للمشاريع والإرث في أنحاء البلاد طوال أيام البطولة.

وشارك في البرنامج أكثر من 16 ألف فنان من 44 جنسية من جميع أنحاء العالم، قدموا عروضهم خلال الحدث العالمي في العديد من المواقع من بينها المناطق المحيطة بالاستادات الثمانية، وكورنيش الدوحة، ومهرجان الفيفا للمشجعين، ومجمع حافلات المسيلة، ومساكن المشجعين في براحة الجنوب ومدينتنا.

واختتم الفنانون رحلتهم في كأس العالم FIFA قطر 2022 بالمشاركة في المسير التاريخي الذي شهده درب لوسيل احتفاء باليوم الوطني لدولة قطر، وختام نسخة تاريخية من كأس العالم، بعد المباراة النهائية وتتويج منتخب الأرجنتين بكأس البطولة.

وقال السيد خالد محمد السويدي، مدير إدارة علاقات الشركاء في اللجنة العليا للمشاريع والإرث: “لعب هؤلاء الفنانون دوراً كبيراً في إنجاح البطولة، ونحن ممتنون لما أبدوه من تفانٍ وإخلاص، فقد خلق أداؤهم لحظات رائعة من التواصل الإنساني، خاصة عندما كان المشجعون يخرجون من استادات المباريات إما محبطين بعد الهزيمة، أو سعداء بعد إحراز منتخباتهم الفوز في المنافسات”.

وأقيم على هامش البطولة أكثر من 3,350 عرضا فنيا في مختلف مجالات فنون الأداء في 15 موقعاً غطت أكثر من 128 نقطة ترفيهية، وتضمنت العروض أشكالاً مختلفة من الفنون شملت الفنون البصرية والحرف اليدوية والتراث والأزياء والتصميم وفنون الأداء والمسرح والموسيقى والأفلام والعروض، فضلاً عن الفرق التي قدمت العروض الحيّة طوال البطولة للاحتفال مع المشجعين من جميع أنحاء العالم.

وأضاف السويدي: “أكدت هذه البطولة أن ما يجمعنا أكثر بكثير مما يفرقنا، فالإنسانية تجمعنا معاً تحت مظلتها، وقد أتاحت هذه النسخة من كأس العالم الفرصة أمام الناس للتواصل والتعرف على ثقافة بعضهم البعض من خلال الأنشطة المختلفة وأصناف الطعام، والموسيقى والفن والموضة، فضلاً عن تكوين صداقات تدوم مدى الحياة”.

من جانبها، أعربت لولوة المهندي، قائدة فرقة النهضة للفنون الشعبية القطرية، وهي فرقة نسائية متخصصة في تقديم الفن التراثي التقليدي القطري، عن فخرها بتمثيل بلادها على المسرح العالمي، وقالت: “تعرف المشجعون على تراثنا الثقافي الغني، وحرص الكثيرون على معرفة المزيد عن ثقافتنا وفنوننا”.

وتابعت: “قدمت استضافة قطر لكأس العالم فرصة رائعة للتبادل الثقافي والحوار، ما جعلنا فخورين باستعراض ثقافتنا المحلية أمام الملايين من جميع أنحاء العالم”.

وقدمت فرقة فيينتو نورتِ الأرجنتينية عروضها الموسيقية التي تدمج بين فن الكومبيا اللاتيني – الأرجنتيني وموسيقى البوب والروك، ضمن برنامج العروض الفنية، حيث أعجب المشجعون بأداء أعضاء الفرقة وتفاعلوا مع موسيقاهم.

وقال كارلوس آدربان سيف، رئيس الفرقة: “قطعنا طريقاً طويلاً من الأرجنتين، وسعدنا بشدة لرؤية أعداد كبيرة من الجماهير تلتف حولنا للاستمتاع بموسيقانا هنا في قطر، فمشاركتنا في حدث بهذا الحجم كانت تجربة رائعة للغاية بالنسبة لنا قد لا تتكرر مرة أخرى في حياتنا، ولا بد أنها ستبقى خالدة في ذاكرتنا وذاكرة الجمهور، لقد شعرنا بسعادة غامرة لرؤية المشجعين يتفاعلون مع بعضهم البعض على إيقاع موسيقانا”.

وقال عازف الإيقاع الأردني نواف العزة: “كانت تجربتي في المونديال فريدة ومميزة، عشت خلالها لحظات لا تقدر بثمن، فقد كانت مشاركة موهبتي وشغفي مع العالم من خلال هذه المنصة العالمية أمراً مذهلاً للغاية”.
