Minister of Education Underlines Scholarship Programs’ Support of National Labor Market

Doha: HE Minister of Education and Higher Education Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi said Monday that the diversity of scientific disciplines for Qatari students on scholarships abroad will provide the national labor market with multiple competencies in various fields, which will benefit the State of Qatar’s renaissance project.

Addressing a gathering held by the Ministry’s Higher Education Affairs Sector for students on scholarships abroad, Her Excellency said the scholarships provide knowledge and represent an opportunity to interact and learn about different cultures, which will develop the human skills of the students on scholarship and help create independent personalities able to serve their country, and compete in the labor market locally, regionally and internationally.

You are Qatar’s human capital, and you are its future knowledge force, and the State counts on you to achieve the goals and objectives of the Qatar National Vision 2030, and the country has overcome all difficulties for you to move towards broad horizons, to receive useful knowledge that will benefit the country, Her Excellency told the students.

The future of this country is your responsibility, and you must make every effort to shoulder this responsibility and hand it over to those who will come after you to complete the path of success and giving, Her Excellency added.

Her Excellency drew attention to the Ministry’s tireless and continuous endeavors to remove any obstacles that stand in the way of all students, stressing the importance of communicating with the cultural attachés abroad to solve their academic and social problems.

For his part, HE Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Higher Education Affairs in the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Dr. Khalid Al Ali said that this open meeting is a part of the Ministry’s commitment to support and qualify distinguished students, by providing scholarships in various scientific disciplines, and in the most prestigious international universities.

His Excellency added that this event reflects the deep interest of the Ministry to benefit from international expertise and harness it to serve the students of Qatar, a move in line with the strategic plans aimed at graduating Qatari competencies capable of contributing to serving the country, and achieving Its development and growth, in light of the Qatar National Vision 2030.

The meeting also stems from the Ministry’s firm and a deep belief that the mission of foreign missions lies in supplying the Qatari society with distinguished cadres, capable of engaging effectively in the process of construction and development, His Excellency said.

Dr. Al Ali stressed the importance of an early understanding of the policies and regulations, and study systems at foreign universities to avoid many academic problems that may be an obstacle to the student’s progress and success.

Director of Admissions and Registration at the Department of Scholarships Saleh Al Muftah presented the statistics related to the academic and financial aspects of the scholarship students.

At the end of the meeting, the scholarship students were allowed to raise inquiries, listen to their proposals, and discuss solutions from the Ministry’s Higher Education Affairs Sector.

الدوحة: أكدت سعادة السيدة بثينة بنت علي الجبر النعيمي وزير التربية والتعليم والتعليم العالي، اليوم، أن تنوع التخصصات العلمية للطلبة المبتعثين سيساعد في رفد سوق العمل الوطني بكفاءات متعددة في مجالات مختلفة، ما سيعود بالنفع على مشروع الدولة النهضوي.

وقالت سعادتها، في كلمة خلال لقاء مفتوح عقده قطاع شؤون التعليم العالي بالوزارة مع الطلبة المبتعثين بالخارج، إن أهمية الابتعاث لا تكمن فقط في تلقي العلم، بل إنه يمثل فرصة أيضا للاحتكاك والتعرف على ثقافات مختلفة، مما سيُنمي المهارات الإنسانية للطلبة المبتعثين ويساهم في تكوين شخصياتهم المستقلة، لبناء المواطن الصالح القادر على خدمة وطنه، والمنافسة في سوق العمل محليا وإقليميا ودوليا.

وخاطبت سعادتها الطلبة المبتعثين قائلة: “أنتم رأس مال قطر البشري، وأنتم قوتها المعرفية المستقبلية، وعليكم نعول في إنجاز غايات وأهداف رؤية قطر الوطنية 2030، ولقد ذلل الوطن لكم كافة الصعاب لتنطلقوا نحو آفاق رحبة، لتلقي العلم النافع الذي سيعود بالخير على بلادنا”.

وتابعت: “مستقبل هذا الوطن أمانة في أعناقكم، وعليكم بذل الجهد لأداء هذه الأمانة وتسليمها لمن سيأتي بعدكم لإكمال مسيرة النجاح والعطاء”.

ولفتت سعادتها إلى مساعي وزارة التربية والتعليم والتعليم العالي الدؤوبة والمستمرة لإزالة أي معوقات تقف في طريق جميع الطلبة، مشددة على أهمية التواصل مع ملحقيات الوزارة الثقافية في دول ابتعاثهم لحل مشاكلهم الأكاديمية والاجتماعية، إن وجدت.

ومن جانبه، قال الدكتور خالد العلي، القائم بمهام وكيل الوزارة المساعد لشؤون التعليم العالي بوزارة التربية والتعليم والتعليم العالي في كلمته، إن هذا اللقاء المفتوح لطلبة البعثات الدراسية في خارج قطر يأتي في إطار التزام الوزارة بدعم وتأهيل الطلبة المتميزين، من خلال توفير البعثات الدراسية بمختلف التخصصات العلمية، وفي أرقى الجامعات العالمية.. مبينا أن هذه الفعالية تعكس اهتمام وزارة التربية والتعليم والتعليم العالي العميق بالاستفادة من الخبرات العالمية وتسخيرها لخدمة طلاب قطر، وهو ما يتماشى مع الخطط الاستراتيجية التي ترمي إلى تخريج الكفاءات القطرية القادرة على الإسهام في خدمة الوطن، وتحقيق تطوره ونمائه، في ظل رؤية قطر الوطنية 2030.

وأوضح أن اللقاء يأتي كذلك انطلاقا من إيمان الوزارة الراسخ والعميق بأن رسالة البعثات الخارجية تكمن في إمداد ورفد المجتمع القطري بكوادر مميزة، قادرة على الانخراط في عملية البناء والتنمية بشكل مؤثر وفعال.

وأكد الدكتور العلي أهمية معرفة السياسات واللوائح للجامعات التي يتوجه إليها الطلبة بشكل مبكر، بالإضافة إلى الإلمام بالنظم الدراسية المتبعة في تلك الجامعات، لتفادي الكثير من المشاكل الأكاديمية التي قد تكون عائقا أمام تقدم الطالب ونجاحه.

وبدوره، قدم السيد صالح المفتاح، رئيس قسم القبول والتسجيل بإدارة البعثات بوزارة التربية والتعليم والتعليم العالي، في عرض تقديمي، الإحصائيات التي تخص الجانب الأكاديمي والمالي للطلبة المبتعثين.

وفي ختام اللقاء، فُتح باب المشاركةِ للطلبة المبتعثين لطرح الاستفسارات والاستماع لمقترحاتهم ومناقشة الحلول من طرف قطاع شؤون التعليم العالي بالوزارة.
