Camping season second phase begins

Doha: The Winter Camping Season has started in the Southern region of the country – Sealine and Khor Al Udeid – and will last through May 20, 2023, the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC) announced.

This is the second phase of the camping season; the first phase, which started on September 29 will run through April 1, 2023, includes the Northern and Central regions.

It can be recalled that the camping in the Southern region was postponed as it was designated to host cultural and recreational activities for World Cup guests.

Additionally, the ministry reiterated in a series of tweets that installing and using loudspeakers in camps is prohibited and emphasised the need of keeping one’s own safety as well as of others.

Last season, the ministry witnessed 1,626 camps set up during the six-month period.

Salem Hussain Al Safran, Assistant Director of the Department of Natural Reserves earlier stressed the importance of adherence to the determined coordinates in the camping activity.

الدوحة: أعلنت وزارة البيئة والتغير المناخي أن موسم التخييم الشتوي قد بدأ في المنطقة الجنوبية من البلاد – سيلين وخور العديد – وسيستمر حتى 20 مايو 2023.

حيث ستكون هذه هي المرحلة الثانية من موسم التخييم. وكانت المرحلة الأولى، التي بدأت في 29 سبتمبر ومستمرة حتى 1 أبريل 2023، وتشمل المناطق الشمالية والوسطى.

يذكر أنه تم تأجيل التخييم في المنطقة الجنوبية حيث كان مخصصًا لاستضافة أنشطة ثقافية وترفيهية لضيوف كأس العالم.

بالإضافة إلى ذلك، كررت الوزارة في سلسلة تغريدات أن تركيب واستخدام مكبرات الصوت في المخيمات محظور، وشددت على ضرورة الحفاظ على سلامة الآخرين.

وكانت قد شهدت الوزارة خلال الموسم الماضي إقامة 1626 مخيماً خلال فترة الستة أشهر.

وأكد سالم حسين السفران مساعد مدير إدارة المحميات الطبيعية في وقت سابق على أهمية الالتزام بالإحداثيات المحددة في نشاط التخييم.
