Qatari Composer Dana: My Participation in Tournament Opening, Closing Ceremonies Underscores Qatar’s Confidence in Youth

Doha: The participation of the Qatari composer Dana Al Fardan in the opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 tournament received wide commendations and standing ovation from a plethora of masses, because of her powerful voice, distinct performance and success in combining the Arabic music with the western one, which candidly raised the interest of the media when she showed up dressing the Qatari garment among a substantial number of international and Arab artists, which is a completion of the tournament message to introduce the world to the Qatari and gulf cultures and customs, and ensure that the gulf and Arabic human can access universalism while simultaneously maintain his or her customs, traditions and legacies.

In her statements to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Dana Al Fardan stated that her singing both in the opening and closing ceremonies of the tournament underscores the trust of the State of Qatar in the abilities and talents of the Qatari young people, and the desire to be in the front, and this is very remarkable, she said, and is evidenced by what she saw, along with the trust she was granted to participate in this global event, adding that this essentially places major responsibility on their shoulders to best represent the State of Qatar through the right way in commensurate with the customs and traditions of the Qatari community, she said.

Al Fardan hoped that she should have perfectly represented her country in this global event, indicating that she was chosen by the director Ahmed Al Baker, which underscores that there is a bit of desire for the concerned entities in the state to offer opportunities for the young Qatari talents, and she is proud of that, adding that such participation is a unique experience for her, specially that it was a major sporting event to be held in Qatar for the first time in an Arab country and Middle East region which left indelible memories that would remain for ever, pointing out that it was the first time she showed up on the stage, because the event deserved that, specially that it was held in Qatar and all world eyes were being turned to Qatar.

Composer Dana Al Fardan pointed out that the songs she performed both in the opening and closing ceremonies were basically meant to convey the Qatari culture, identity and customs, along with the Qatari fine art to the entire world, and underscore that Qatar is definitely abound with artists whose performances are not much less than the current international artists, and to simultaneously confirm that Qatar is a generous and hospitable and welcomes all, which are things derived from the Arab and Islamic traditions, she said, adding that her participation in the song of “Umm Al-Hanaya” during the opening ceremony portrays that the old Qatari woman welcomes and cares for everyone which confirms this message, and the keenness to show up with the Qatari traditional fashion underscores the pride in the Qatari identity and traditions, she said.

She pointed out that standing on the tournament stage during the final game in the middle of the large crowd of spectators nearby international artists had bolstered confidence in herself, adding that the relation that linked her with the group of female artists in the ceremony had contributed to creating distinct atmospheres and good reaction among them on the stage and played a role in this success.

With regard to her ability in combining the ornamental music and song with the western ones, she said that she always prefers this combination, and she had performed them perfectly since the early stage when she started to sing, as she can combine between the Arabic, Korean and Indian songs together, along with her ability to train the band of Ajyal Tunes as part of Ajyal Film Festival 2022 since 2019, pointing out that all reactions she had received were entirely positive and gave her an impetus, whether in terms of her participation in the opening or closing ceremonies, or even in the events accompanying the tournament, adding that she received commendation messages from professional female artists at the gulf and Arab region’s levels, in addition to the positive reactions from the masses.

Commenting on whether the world cup tournament represents an opportunity to open the door in front of the Qatari song to take its way towards universalism, Dana Al Fardan pointed out that after the Qatari voice had participated in this global festival, it would be possible for the Qatari song to potentially vibrate in other global festivals, anticipating that the future will witness further successful Qatari voices and talents, revealing that there is currently a film she embarks on completing its writing. It is a gulf horror movie whose idea was derived from an old book for one of the Kuwaiti writers.

The closing ceremony of the FIFA world cup 2022 included dazzling artistic works that combined the transition from the ancient heritage to modernity and universalism, through showcasing artistic and music paintings that were characterized by impressiveness and artistic creativity and reflected the evolution and modernity the State of Qatar is experiencing.

Through this ceremony, the State of Qatar thanked the entire world, and bade farewell to an exceptional and unique world cup tournament that broke the records and left indelible memories to the world.

The closing ceremony witnessed the reproachment of world nations in 29 days during the tournament, starting from the opening ceremony until the last salute amid a music of tournament’s official soundtrack.

وتمنت أن تكون قد مثلت بلدها قطر أفضل تمثيل في هذا الحدث الرياضي العالمي، موضحة أنه تم اختيارها من جانب المخرج أحمد الباكر، مما يؤكد أن هناك رغبة لدى المعنيين في الدولة في منح الفرص للمواهب القطرية الشابة، وهي فخورة بذلك.

وأضافت أن هذه المشاركة هي تجربة فريدة من نوعها بالنسبة لها، خاصة وهو حدث عالمي كبير ويقام في قطر ولأول مرة في بلد عربي وبمنطقة الشرق الأوسط، وقد ترك معها ذكريات سوف تبقى مدى الحياة.

وأشارت إلى أنها المرة الأولى التي تظهر فيها على المسرح، لكون الحدث يستحق الظهور، خاصة وأنه يقام في قطر وأعين العالم كله كانت متجهة صوب قطر.

وتابعت دانة أن الأغاني التي شاركت بها في حفلي الافتتاح والختام كان هدفها في الأساس إيصال الثقافة والهوية والعادات القطرية، وما لدى قطر من فن راق، للعالم كله، والتأكيد على أن دولة قطر لديها فنانون ليسوا بأقل من الفنانين العالميين الموجودين في الساحة، وفي نفس الوقت التأكيد على أن قطر بلد مضياف، ويرحب بالجميع وهي أمور نابعة من التقاليد العربية والإسلامية.

وأوضحت أن مشاركتها في حفل الافتتاح بدور “أم الحنايا”، وهي المرأة القطرية الكبيرة في السن التي ترحب وتحنو على الجميع، تأكيد على هذه الرسالة، كما أن الحرص على ظهورها بالزي القطري التقليدي يؤكد على الاعتزاز بالهوية والتقاليد القطرية.

وأشارت إلى أن الأغنية التي شاركت بها في الحفل الختامي للمونديال حملت رسالة موجهة للجمهور والعالم، مضمونها “الحياة جميلة بكم”، معتبرة أن بطولة كأس العالم كانت فرصة مهمة بالنسبة لهم كفنانين قطريين شباب لإظهار مواهبهم للعالم، خاصة وأن الرؤية الإخراجية للمخرج أحمد الباكر، مخرج حفلي الافتتاح والختام، بحسب قولها، كانت رؤية سينمائية، وهو ما سلط الضوء أكثر على موهبة جميع المشاركين.

وأشارت الفنانة القطرية إلى أن وقوفها على مسرح المونديال في ملعب النهائي ووسط هذا الحشد الكبير من الجمهور، وإلى جوار فنانين عالميين، عزز من ثقتها بنفسها، كما أن العلاقة التي ربطت بينها وبين مجموعة الفنانات المشاركات في الحفل، ساهمت في خلق أجواء مميزة وتفاعل جيد بينهن على المسرح، ولعبت دورا في تحقيق هذا النجاح.

وحول قدرتها على المزج ما بين الموسيقى والغناء الشرقي والغربي معا، قالت إنها تفضل دائما هذا المزج وقد أتقنته منذ بداياتها مع الغناء، حيث تستطيع المزج ما بين الغناء العربي والكوري أو الهندي، إلى جانب أنها تقوم بتدريب فريق “أجيال تونز”، وهو جزء من مهرجان أجيال السينمائي منذ عام 2019، وتجربة تعليمية ترفيهية، حيث تقوم بتدريب المشاركين من عرب وأجانب على الغناء والوقوف على المسرح، مؤكدة أن معظم خريجي “أجيال تونز” هم من قاموا بأداء أغاني كأس العالم.

وأشارت إلى أن ردود الأفعال التي وصلتها كانت جميعها إيجابية وتعطيها دفعة، سواء على مشاركتها في حفلي الافتتاح والختام أو حتى عن مشاركتها في الفعاليات المصاحبة للبطولة، فقد وصلتها رسائل إشادة من فنانات محترفات على مستوى الخليج والوطن العربي، إضافة إلى ردود الأفعال الإيجابية من الجماهير.

وبشأن ما إذا كانت بطولة كأس العالم فرصة لفتح الباب أمام الأغنية القطرية حتى تأخذ طريقها إلى العالمية، أشارت إلى أنه بعد مشاركة صوت قطري في هذا المحفل العالمي من الممكن أن يكون للأغنية القطرية تواجد في محافل عالمية أخرى، متوقعة أن يشهد المستقبل مزيدا من النجاح للأصوات والمواهب القطرية.

وكشفت دانة أن لديها مشروع فيلم سينمائي تعكف حاليا على استكمال كتابته، وهو فيلم رعب خليجي، حيث استمدت فكرته من كتاب قديم لأحد الكتاب الكويتيين.

يذكر أن دانة كانت قد قدمت خلال حفل افتتاح البطولة أنشودة حملت اسم “النداء”، وكانت مستوحاة من أهازيج فلكلورية باسم “توب توب يا بحر”، وكذلك أدت أغنية “هلا”.

وفي حفل الختام شاركت بأداء غنائي فريد عنوانه (يا له من عالم رائع)، وقدمت أغنية عبد الرب إدريس (ليلة)، إضافة إلى جزء من أغنية لويس أرمسترونج What A Wonderful World.

وكان الحفل الختامي لبطولة كأس العالم FIFA قطر 2022، قد تضمن أعمالا فنية مبهرة، مزجت بين الانتقال من القديم والتراث إلى الحداثة والعالمية، وذلك من خلال تقديم لوحات فنية وموسيقية تميزت بالإبهار والإبداع الفني، وعكست مدى التطور والحداثة التي تعيشها دولة قطر.

ووجهت دولة قطر من خلال هذا الحفل الشكر إلى العالم أجمع، وودعته بعد استضافة بطولة استثنائية وفريدة من كأس العالم تحطمت فيها الأرقام القياسية وتركت للعالم ذكريات لا تنسى.

وشهد الحفل الختامي لكأس العالم FIFA قطر 2022، الاحتفاء بتقارب شعوب العالم في 29 يوما خلال فترة البطولة، بدءا من حفل الافتتاح وحتى التحية الأخيرة وسط مزيج موسيقي من أغاني الألبوم الغنائي الرسمي للمونديال.

وتضمن الحفل مزيجا موسيقيا لأغاني الألبوم الرسمي للمونديال، بدأ بأغنية (هيا هيا) لدافيدو وعائشة، وأغنية (أرحبو) لأوزونا وغميس، وانتهي بأغنية (لايت ذا سكاي) لنورا فتحي وبلقيس ورحمة رياض ومنال.
