Reasons for Qatar’s Impressive Success in Organizing World Cup

Doha: HE Managing Director of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC) Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al-Thani attributed the success of the State of Qatar in hosting the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, which came to an end yesterday, to the great support of the wise leadership of the State of Qatar. The wise leadership supported all work and stood behind this great success recognized by the world with its various cultures and its diversity, he said, noting that this success did not come from a vacuum, but rather is the result of great work that continued for more than twelve years since Qatar won the bid to organize the World Cup.

Speaking to Alkass TV channel today, His Excellency said that they in the SC were confident in the State of Qatar’s ability to achieve the highest levels of success owing to the great support of the Qatari leadership to organize a more distinguished edition, and that they had set special criteria for success, most notably the legacy of the tournament that benefits the world, in addition to the criterion of mass attendance with the World Cup, which is a major criterion for them in the committee.

The technical criterion was something known to everyone who followed the tournament through the impressive level of the teams as well as the level of the final match between Argentina and France, which exceeded all expectations and was more powerful and exciting, he said, praising at the same time the Moroccan national team and the impressive results they achieved in the World Cup as the first Arab and African team to reach the semi-finals and to compete strongly, describing their performance as an honorable one that added a lot to the tournament from a technical point of view.

HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al-Thani affirmed the State of Qatar’s fulfillment of the promises and commitments made before organizing the World Cup through many distinctive standards that the world will absorb after a long period of time.

The tournament met all the standards of organization and added a lot to the World Cup tournaments, His Excellency said, noting that it was a good opportunity that changed many world concepts about the Middle East and what it was known for in the past.

The SC Managing Director said the hard work and sincerity of all committees were behind the full success of the championship, considering that the implementation stage of the Qatar’s bid projects was the most difficult and that the Qatari competencies did a great job and did the impossible for an impressive organization of the championship.

His Excellency stated that they focused on working diligently and with high quality in order to achieve success, without considering any criticism, pointing out that they in the committee went through difficult stages in the past 12 years that followed the announcement of Qatar’s winning of organizing the World Cup, but their confidence in achieving success was great.

HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad Al-Thani thanked all the tournament’s committees and said that they did a great job, noting that the security committee made a great effort to make it a success along with the media committee and the medical committee, which revealed distinguished talents and competencies that had an impact on the organization, in addition to other civil committees that carried out their work with high professionalism, and they deserve thanks and appreciation.

For his part, Secretary-General of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy Hassan Al Thawadi said in a statement that the challenges facing Qatar’s World Cup bid were turned into positives, adding that anti-Qatar campaigns started Dec. 3, 2010, only one day after Qatar had won the World Cup bid.

The championship was an opportunity to connect together diversified cultures worldwide amid great interaction from Qatar’s nationals and residents, he pointed out, adding that the fans who came to Qatar conveyed the advantages of organizing the tournament in Qatar, which changed their perceptions of the Arab peoples.

The Secretary-General of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy noted that the World Cup Qatar 2022 is one of the most diverse tournaments that witnessed a variety of fan attendance, adding that the matches were highly watched by families around the world.

For his part, CEO of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Nasser Al Khater highlighted that the tournament did not witness any security obstacles, thanks to the security authorities’ plans. It was a safe and family-friendly tournament that brought cultures around the world together, he said.

All previous World Cups did not see four matches being played in one city or one region, and this was one of the most difficult challenges that faced the Committee, Al Khater said.

For his part, Director General of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy Yasser Abdullah Al Jamal said the vision of the country’s wise leaderships and their follow-up on all the details of the committee’s work was the motive for achieving an organizational success, carried out by Qatari cadres and the hard-working tournament team. This tournament gave Qatari cadres the ability to organize better future tournaments in all fields, he said.

الدوحة: أكد سعادة الشيخ محمد بن حمد آل ثاني، العضو المنتدب للجنة العليا للمشاريع والإرث، أن نجاح دولة قطر في استضافة كأس العالم FIFA قطر 2022، التي أسدل الستار عليها /الأحد/ يعود إلى الدعم الكبير من القيادة الرشيدة لدولة قطر والتي دعمت كل العمل ووقفت خلف هذا النجاح الكبير الذي شهد به العالم بمختلف ثقافاته وتنوعه، مبيناً أنه لم يأت من فراغ وإنما هو نتاج عمل كبير استمر على مدار أكثر من أثني عشر عاماً منذ فوز قطر بملف تنظيم المونديال.

وقال سعادته في تصريحات لقناة الكأس، اليوم، إنهم في اللجنة العليا للمشاريع والإرث كانوا يثقون في قدرة دولة قطر على تحقيق أعلى درجات النجاح من واقع الدعم الكبير للقيادة القطرية لتنظيم نسخة أكثر تميزاً، وأنهم وضعوا معايير خاصة بالنجاح أبرزها إرث البطولة الذي يستفيد منه العالم، بالإضافة إلى معيار الحضور الجماهيري مع كأس العالم وهو معيار رئيسي بالنسبة لهم في اللجنة، مشيراً إلى أن المعيار الفني كان أمراً معروفاً لكل من تابع البطولة من خلال المستوى الرائع للمنتخبات ومستوى المباراة النهائية بين منتخبي الأرجنتين وفرنسا التي فاقت كل التوقعات وجاءت أكثر قوة وإثارة، مثنياً في الوقت ذاته على المنتخب المغربي والنتائج الباهرة التي حققها في المونديال كأول منتخب عربي وإفريقي يصل لنصف النهائي وينافس بقوة، واصفاً أداءه بالمشرف الذي أضاف الكثير للبطولة من الناحية الفنية.

وأكد سعادة الشيخ محمد بن حمد آل ثاني أن دولة قطر أوفت بالوعود والالتزامات التي قطعتها قبل تنظيم المونديال من خلال الكثير من المعايير المميزة التي سيستوعبها العالم بعد فترة طويلة من الزمن.

وأوضح سعادته أن البطولة لبّت كل المعايير الخاصة بالتنظيم وأضافت لبطولات كأس العالم الكثير، منبهاً إلى أنها كانت فرصة طيبة غيّرت الكثير من مفاهيم العالم حول منطقة الشرق الأوسط وما كانت تعرف به في السابق.

وأرجع العضو المنتدب للجنة العليا للمشاريع والإرث، النجاح الكامل للبطولة للعمل بجد وإخلاص من جميع اللجان، معتبراً أن مرحلة التنفيذ لمشاريع الملف القطري كانت الأصعب وأن الكفاءات القطرية قامت بعمل كبير وصنعت المستحيل من أجل تنظيم مبهر للبطولة.

وأبان سعادته بأنهم ركزوا على العمل بجد وجودة عالية من أجل تحقيق النجاح، دون النظر لأي انتقادات، لافتاً إلى أنهم في اللجنة مروا بمراحل صعبة في السنوات الـ (12) الماضية التي أعقبت إعلان فوز قطر بملف التنظيم، ولكن ثقتهم في تحقيق النجاح كانت كبيرة.

وشكر سعادة الشيخ محمد بن حمد آل ثاني، جميع اللجان العاملة في البطولة، وقال إنها قامت بعمل كبير، مشيراً إلى أن اللجنة الأمنية بذلت جهداً كبيراً كان وراء النجاح بالإضافة إلى اللجنة الإعلامية، واللجنة الطبية التي كشفت عن مواهب وكفاءات مميزة كان لها أثرها في التنظيم، بالإضافة إلى بقية اللجان المدنية التي قامت بعملها باحترافية عالية ويستحقون عليه الشكر والتقدير.

ومن جهته قال السيد حسن الذوادي الأمين العام للجنة العليا للمشاريع والإرث، في تصريح مماثل: “لقد حوّلنا التحديات التي واجهت الملف القطري إلى إيجابيات، ومنذ 3 ديسمبر 2010 بدأت الحملات ضد قطر بعد الفوز بيوم واحد فقط”.

وأشار الأمين العام للجنة العليا للمشاريع والإرث إلى أن تنظيم البطولة في قطر فتح الآفاق لكثير من الجماهير في تحقيق حلمهم بحضور مباريات كأس العالم.. وأكد أن كأس العالم FIFAقطر 2022 أفضل بطولة وحدث رياضي في العالم، ولن يتكرر التنظيم القطري في أي بطولة في المستقبل.

ولفت الذوادي، إلى أن من أبرز المشاكل التي كانت أمام الملف القطري في بداية تقديم الملف، هو عدم الجدية في تقبّل تقديم قطر لملفها، وعدم الجدية في الاستماع لأعضاء الملف، بسبب أن الملف مقدّم من دولة عربية وصغيرة، ولكن لم يكن هدف قطر منذ البداية المشاركة فقط، بل تقديم الطلب للاستضافة، فكانت هناك ثقة في أن فرصتنا كبيرة في الفوز، وعلى مر الأيام، أثبتنا جدية الملف والأفكار التي قدّمت، ونجحنا في تغيير الصورة النمطية لأعضاء الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم / فيفا/ عن الملف القطري.

وأوضح أن البطولة كانت فرصة لتلاقي الثقافات لدول العالم، وشهدت تفاعلاً كبيراً من المواطنين والمقيمين في قطر. وقد نقلت الجماهير التي حضرت إلى قطر وعادت إلى بلادها إيجابيات تنظيم البطولة في قطر، التي نجحت في تغيير المفاهيم لديهم عن الشعوب العربية.

ونوه الأمين العام للجنة العليا للمشاريع والإرث أن مونديال قطر 2022 من أكثر البطولات التي شهدت تنوعاً في الحضور الجماهيري، وحظيت المباريات بمشاهدة عالية من قبل العائلات في العالم.

من ناحيته قال السيد ناصر الخاطر الرئيس التنفيذي لبطولة كأس العالم FIFAقطر 2022: “البطولة لم تشهد حدوث أي معوقات أمنية، بفضل خطة الجهات الأمنية في الدولة، كما أنها كانت ملتقى للثقافات في العالم ولم تشهد تواجد العناصر التي تسبّب المشاكل في البطولات السابقة، وتميّزت بأنها بطولة آمنة وعائلية”.

وتابع الخاطر : “كل البطولات السابقة في كأس العالم لم تشهد إقامة 4 مباريات في مدينة واحدة أو منطقة واحدة، وكان هذا من أصعب التحديات التي واجهت اللجنة”.

ومن جانبه قال المهندس ياسر عبد الله الجمال المدير العام للجنة العليا للمشاريع والإرث: “إن رؤية القيادة الرشيدة في الدولة ومتابعتهم لجميع تفاصيل عمل اللجنة، كان الدافع لتحقيق النجاح والإنجاز في التنظيم، الذي تم بكوادر قطرية وفريق عمل نحت الصخر من أجل نجاح البطولة”. مختتما ً: “إن البطولة أكسبت الكوادر القطرية القدرة على تنظيم بطولات أفضل في المستقبل في جميع المجالات”.
