Beckham Praises Qatar Foundation’s Accessibility Services to People with Disabilities

Doha: English football star David Beckham called on young talents to enjoy playing sports, especially football, which requires dedication to work hard and sometimes make sacrifices.
This came during Beckham’s visit to a number of facilities of Qatar Foundation and the Education City stadium.
Beckhams tour at Education City included a stop at the art installation titled “Come Together” by the South Korean artist Choi Jeong Hwa, which symbolizes the joy of the people of Qatar, and of the fans, realizing their dream of Qatar hosting the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
Beckham praised the sensory assistance mobile trailer provided by the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, saying: “The interactive features inside the sensory mobile trailer caters to different sensory needs for children. And because each of us responds differently to stimulations, the sensory mobile trailer provides a variety of elements to help fans take a break from the loud atmosphere of a game.” Regarding accessibility services available to the fans with disabilities during Qatar World Cup, Beckham said: “This is an example of the power of sport and the power of this tournament. Its great that there are all of these offerings for children with different needs, where they have the chance to attend games in football stadiums in comfort, and also have somewhere to get away from the hectic side of a football match with their families.” Beckham’s tour also included a visit to the Goals 2022 exhibition held at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Design Arts in Qatar, during which he viewed a collection of photos and videos capturing stories from the lives of people in Qatar during the build-up to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

الدوحة: دعا نجم كرة القدم الإنجليزية “ديفيد بيكهام” المواهب الشابة إلى الاستمتاع بممارسة الرياضة وبصفة خاصة كرة القدم التي تتطلب التفاني في العمل وتقديم التضحيات في بعض الأحيان.
جاء ذلك خلال الزيارة التي قام بها بيكهام إلى عدد من مرافق مؤسسة قطر للتربية والعلوم وتنمية المجتمع واستاد المدينة التعليمية المونديالي.
تضمّنت زيارة نجم كرة القدم البريطاني التعرف على عمل فني بعنوان: “معا”، من إبداع الفنان الكوري تشاوي يونغ، والذي يرمز إلى احتفاء دولة قطر وشعبها ومشجعي كرة القدم باستضافة بطولة كأس العالم FIFA قطر 2022.
وأشاد بيكهام بـ”المقطورة المتنقلة للمُساعدة الحسية”، المقدّمة من اللجنة العليا للمشاريع والإرث، وهي تعد مساحة آمنة وملاذًا للمشجعين ممن لديهم تحديات حسية خلال تنقلهم للوصول إلى استاد المدينة التعليمية.
وقال: “نظراً لكون كل واحد منا يستجيب بشكل مُختلف للمُحفزات، فإن مقطورة المُساعدة الحسية توفّر مجموعة متنوعة من التجهيزات لمُساعدة هذه الفئة من الجمهور على أخذ قسط من الراحة في معزل عما قد تسبّبه لهم الأجواء الصاخبة”.
وفيما يتعلق بخدمات تيسير الوصول المتاحة للجمهور من ذوي الإعاقة، أضاف بيكهام: “ما نشهده اليوم هو انعكاس لقوة الرياضة، وتكمن قوة هذه البطولة على وجه التحديد في أن يكون لديك مثل هذا الخدمات المتاحة للأطفال من ذوي الإعاقات، ما يمكّنهم من الاستمتاع بتجربة حضور المباريات في الاستاد مع عائلاتهم”.
كما تضمّنت جولة بيكهام زيارة معرض /جووولز 2022/ المقام في جامعة /فرجينيا كومنولث كلية فنون التصميم/ في قطر، اطلع خلالها على مجموعة من الصور ومقاطع الفيديو التي تحكي عن أثر كأس العالم FIFA قطر 2022 من خلال التجارب الشخصية التي عاشها أفراد من المُجتمع في ظل الاستعداد لاستضافة المونديال.
