Minister of Culture Inaugurates Goal Art Exhibition by Ahmed Al Maadheed

Doha: HE Minister of Culture Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Thani inaugurated the Goal Art Exhibition by artist Ahmed Al Maadheed at the A M Gallery in the Place Vendome Mall this evening.
The exhibition will continue until January 15, 2023.
The exhibition’s opening, which is kicking off as the start of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 is round the corner, was attended by a number of artists, intellectuals and media professionals.
The exhibition includes different artworks about the World Cup and is divided into two sections: one cultural, and the other sports.
The cultural section celebrates some vocabulary from Qatari heritage, as well as Qatari traditional garments, such as Al Bakhnaq, Al Ghutra and Al Aqal, in addition to some animals from the Qatari environment, such as the Oryx.
The sports section on the other hand highlights football players, including some well-known names, in addition to other abstract paintings. Moreover, Al Maadheed drew a football pitch’s center circle in the center of the exhibition hall.
In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), artist Ahmed Al Maadheed said that the exhibition, which includes more than 45 artworks, simulates Qatari sports and culture, welcoming visitors to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
The artist noted that holding the exhibition at this particular time provides an atmosphere of pleasure and passion for all visitors, achieving the goal of enjoying the World Cup matches.
It is expected that the exhibition will be accompanied by artistic and cultural activities during the World Cup, within the framework of A M Gallery’s services and objectives. It is worth mentioning that the gallery opened its doors to visitors a few weeks ago.

الدوحة: افتتح سعادة الشيخ عبدالرحمن بن حمد آل ثاني وزير الثقافة، مساء الأمس، معرض /هدف/ للفنان أحمد المعاضيد في /أي أم جاليري/ بمجمع (بلاس فاندوم)، ويستمر إلى 15 يناير 2023.
حضر افتتاح المعرض الذي يتزامن مع قرب انطلاق بطولة كأس العالم FIFA قطر 2022، لفيف من الفنانين والمثقفين والإعلاميين.
ويضم المعرض أعمالا فنية مختلفة عن المونديال وينقسم إلى قسمين: أحدهما ثقافي، والآخر رياضي.
ويحتفي القسم الثقافي ببعض المفردات التراثية القطرية، والزي القطري من قبيل البخنق، والغترة والعقال، فضلا عن بعض الحيوانات من البيئة القطرية كـ/المها/.. بينما تم تخصيص القسم الرياضي لإبراز لاعبين لكرة القدم، منهم من هو معروف في عالم الساحرة المستديرة ، ولوحات أخرى تجريدية. في حين أن الدائرة التي عادة ما تتوسط ميدان كرة القدم، رسمها في وسط قاعة العرض.
وقال الفنان أحمد المعاضيد في تصريح لوكالة الأنباء القطرية /قنا/، إن المعرض الذي يضم أكثر من 45 عملا فنيا، يحاكي الرياضة والثقافة القطرية التي ترحب بالزوار في هذا العرس الكروي المونديالي.
ونوه إلى أن إقامة المعرض في هذا الوقت بالذات، تمنح أجواء من المتعة والشغف، لكل الزائرين، تحقيقاً للهدف، وهو الاستمتاع بمباريات المونديال.
وإذا كان هدف اللاعبين والفرق المتبارية هو تسجيل الأهداف، فإن المعاضيد جعل نصب عينيه هدفا واحدا، هو إطلاع الجمهور المحلي والعالمي على ما تزخر به بلدنا من إرث حضاري عريق، وثقافة جذورها ضاربة في عمق التاريخ، وهو ما سعى إليه جاهدا في مجاله الذي يجيده وهو “الفن”.
ومن المرتقب أن يصاحب المعرض تنظيم أنشطة فنية وثقافية خلال فترة إقامة المونديال، وذلك في إطار الخدمات والأهداف التي يقدمها /إي إم جاليري/، والذي تم افتتاحه قبل أسابيع.
