وسائل النقل المستدامة تجسّد إرث المونديال

Doha: FIFA said today in its official website that over recent years, Qatar’s transport infrastructure has been transformed to provide fast and efficient options for residents and fans during the FIFA World Cup 2022.
Guided by Qatar National Vision 2030 which aims to reduce the country’s reliance on hydrocarbons the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC) worked with a range of stakeholders to accelerate a host of transport projects ahead of the World Cup, including the Doha Metro, expressways, electric buses and tram systems.
Public transport will be free for Hayya Card holders between 10 November and 23 December 2022 and thanks to the compact nature of Qatar 2022, fans will have the chance to attend more than one match a day during the early stages of the tournament.
The SCs Mobility Operation Director Eng. Thani Al Zarraa, said fans will always be at the centre of the action during Qatar 2022.
“During the planning stage, our ambition was to facilitate seamless journeys to and from stadiums, accommodation and other locations. And thanks to close collaboration with stakeholders, like Ashghal, Qatar Rail and the Ministry of Transport, we are on track to achieve our goals,” said Al Zarraa.
“Qatar’s compact nature means fans will always be close to a stadium, fan zone or entertainment activation. Our aim is to make sure they have seamless journeys between the various locations,” added Al Zarraa.
On match days, fans will use buses, the metro, light rail transit systems and taxis to get around. Five of eight FIFA World Cup stadiums are directly connected to the metro, with the remainder connected by a combination of metro and shuttle bus services.
Since its launch in 2019, the metro has been used extensively by local people and tested during a host of major football tournaments, including two editions of the FIFA Club World Cup and last year’s FIFA Arab Cup.
“The metro is the core transport option for fans and will play a vital role in getting people to and from stadiums. We have been fortunate to witness the success of its operations, notably during the FIFA Arab Cup, when it was used by 2.5 million passengers in 19 days,” said Al Zarraa.
Hosting the World Cup has also expedited road and highway upgrades, and fast-tracked the development of sidewalks and cycle paths to provide increased accessibility for pedestrians and cyclists.
Qatar has also stepped up plans to encourage the use of sustainable transport services with the introduction of electric cars, scooters and buses. A fleet of 4,000 buses, including 700 electric versions, will be used to shuttle passengers between transport hubs and stadiums. Buses, meanwhile, are expected to transport around 50,000 passengers a day during the World Cup.
“Core to our plans was to offer environmentally friendly alternatives to traditional transport options. Fans will be able to rent electric scooters and bicycles in West Bay, Lusail City and the Pearl, which will help our goal to deliver the most sustainable edition of the World Cup in history. They are also a really fun way to explore the country,” said Al Zarraa.
Qatars green transportation network will set new benchmarks for sustainability and contribute greatly to local communities, who will use these systems for generations to come.
“The transformation that Qatar has seen will benefit its population well after the World Cup, whether its providing affordable and sustainable transportation alternatives or by encouraging different options which will help the country reduce its carbon emissions,” said Al Zarraa.

الدوحة: سلّط الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم /فيفا/، الضوء على التطور الكبير الذي عرفته البنية التحتية لقطاع النقل في دولة قطر على مدى السنوات الماضية، لضمان كفاءة خطط النقل والمواصلات خلال بطولة كأس العالم FIFA قطر 2022، وتوفير خيارات سريعة وفعّالة للمشجعين وذات إرث مُستدام للأجيال المقبلة، وذلك من خلال تطوير شبكة متكاملة من وسائل النقل الحديثة والصديقة للبيئة، والتي تضع معايير جديدة على صعيد الاستدامة، وتعود بالفائدة على أفراد المجتمع.
وقال الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم /فيفا/، في تقرير نشر اليوم: “إن اللجنة العليا للمشاريع والإرث تعاونت مع شركائها لتسريع وتيرة العمل في مشاريع النقل والمواصلات، ضمن استعدادات البلاد لاستضافة كأس العالم FIFA قطر 2022، وشملت شبكة خطوط مترو الدوحة، والطرق السريعة، والحافلات الكهربائية، وشبكة الترام الخفيف المتصلة بالمترو، تماشيًا مع أهداف رؤية قطر الوطنية 2030، الرامية إلى تقليل الاعتماد على الوقود التقليدي، واستخدام مصادر الطاقة المُستدامة”.
وأشار التقرير إلى أنه سيُتاح الاستخدام المجاني لوسائل النقل العام لحاملي بطاقة /هيّا/ من 10 نوفمبر وحتى 23 ديسمبر المقبل، وذلك لضمان تجربة استثنائية لضيوف قطر خلال الحدث العالمي، حيث يوفر تقارب المسافات بين كملاعب البطولة، فرصة فريدة للجماهير لحضور أكثر من مباراة في يوم واحد، خلال المراحل الأولى من منافسات البطولة.
وفي هذا السياق، أكد المهندس ثاني الزراع، مدير إدارة عمليات النقل باللجنة العليا للمشاريع والإرث، أن الجمهور سيبقى دائمًا في قلب الحدث خلال كأس العالم FIFA قطر 2022، مشيرًا إلى تعاون اللجنة العليا مع العديد من الشركاء لتوفير تجربة مريحة وممتعة لجماهير كرة القدم.
وقال: “حرصنا خلال مرحلة وضع خطط عمليات النقل خلال البطولة على تسهيل الانتقال من وإلى الاستادات التي تستضيف منافسات البطولة، ومقار إقامة المشجعين، وغيرها من الأماكن ومواقع الجذب السياحي في البلاد خلال استضافة المهرجان الكروي، ونجحنا في تحقيق أهدافنا، بفضل علاقات التعاون مع الشركاء، من بينهم، هيئة الأشغال العامة “أشغال”، وشركة سكك الحديد القطرية (الريل)، ووزارة المواصلات”.
وتابع الزراع: “تُعد شبكة خطوط المترو خيار النقل الأساسي للمشجعين، وستسهم بدور رئيسي في نقل الجمهور من وإلى الاستادات. وسجّلت محطات المترو نجاحًا كبيرًا منذ بدء تشغيلها، خاصة خلال كأس العرب FIFA قطر 2021”.
وأعرب مدير إدارة عمليات النقل باللجنة العليا عن فخره بالإنجازات التي تحققت على الطريق إلى كأس العالم FIFA قطر 2022، مع الاعتماد على وسائل نقل صديقة للبيئة ترسي معايير جديدة في الاستدامة، وتعود بالنفع على أفراد المجتمع، كما تترك إرثًا مستدامًا للأجيال المقبلة، مؤكدًا أن توفير وسائل مُستدامة كبديل لخيارات النقل التقليدية يشكّل المحور الذي ترتكز عليه عمليات النقل باللجنة العليا.
وتابع: “سيتمكن المشجعون من استئجار /سكوترات/ ودرّاجات كهربائية في منطقة الخليج الغربي، ومدينة لوسيل، واللؤلؤة قطر، بما يساعد في تحقيق هدفنا الذي يتمثل في تنظيم النسخة الأكثر استدامة في التاريخ الحديث لكأس العالم، كما يوفر للمشجعين وسائل نقل ممتعة لاستكشاف البلاد ومعالمها”.
وشهدت شبكة مترو الدوحة منذ تدشينها عام 2019، إقبالاً واسعًا من سكان قطر، إلى جانب تنفيذ عمليات تشغيلية ناجحة خلال استضافة بطولات كبرى مثل كأس العالم للأندية 2019 و2020، وبطولة كأس العرب التي استضافتها قطر العام الماضي.
وأسهم فوز قطر بحق استضافة كأس العالم FIFA قطر 2022، في تسريع وتيرة عمليات تطوير شبكة الطرق الداخلية والسريعة في أنحاء البلاد، إضافة إلى تشييد وتطوير الأرصفة ومسارات الدرّاجات الهوائية، لتحسين سهولة الحركة والوصول للمشاة وراكبي الدرّاجات.
