Lusail Stadium Architectural Masterpiece Reflects Authenticity of the Past

Doha: Lusail Stadium, the biggest stadium of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, has a special importance as it will host the tournaments final on December 18, which is also Qatar National Day.

Lusail Stadium, which has a capacity of 80,000 seats, embodies Qatars ambition and enthusiasm of sharing the Arab culture with the whole world. Its design blends the ancient and modern Islamic architecture, where the exterior is decorated with Arabic geometric shapes designed in an innovative way that allows sunlight to enter the stadium.

The stadium is located in the center of the modern city of Lusail, 20 km north of Doha. Lusail will be the city of the future as it has all the facilities and elements of modern life, in addition to its important historical value in the hearts of Qataris.

The design reflects the hand-crafted bowls. The sleek and bold design of this arena will leave football fans stunned; the golden exterior will fade replicating aged metal handicrafts to create a venue alive with cultural character.

The stadium facade is crowned with a roof made of carefully selected materials, which spreads shade throughout the stadium, but at the same time allows the sunlight to touch the first-class grass on the stadium pitch.

When the sun sets, state-of-art lighting will create a perfect harmony and interaction between the stadium lights and the open spaces in its facade, to mimic the glow of a lantern that welcomes the fans coming towards the stadium.

Upon entering the stadium, visitors will be greeted by a dazzling spectacle of 80,000 football fans, painting a palette of vibrant colors accompanied by a wall of sound. The roof and arched sides of the stadium echo the songs and cheers of the fans in the ears of all who embrace it.

Lusail Stadium will host 10 matches in Qatar World Cup, which is the largest number of matches compared to the rest of the stadiums. The Stadium will host 6 matches in the group stage, one Round of 16 match, one quarter-finals, one semi-finals, in addition to the final match.

The match between Argentina and Saudi Arabia will be the first for Group C, it will also host Brazil’s confrontation with Serbia for Group G, then Argentina will play again with Mexico, and for Group H, Portugal will meet with Uruguay, and Saudi Arabia will play against Mexico for the third group, and finally Cameroon will face Brazil.

Lusail Stadium will leave a global sporting and cultural legacy that extends beyond the World Cup in Qatar. It will gain a special place in the hearts of people in the region as host of the World Cup. The prestigious position of the Stadium in this tournament will be a symbol of inspiration to promising generations of young male and female athletes, as well as encouraging members of the community in general to adopt more active lifestyles.

The stadium will also benefit other sporting projects that will receive its demountable seats which will be donated when the tournament ends.

After removing majority of its seats, Lusail Stadium will be transformed into a community space of schools, shops, coffee shops, sporting facilities and health clinics. The seats in the upper part of the stadium will be ingeniously transformed into balconies and spaces for visitors. Leaving these seats along with the Stadiums roof with the aim of recalling the glorious sporting history of this edifice in people’s minds.

Lusail Stadium will become a model in sustainable stadiums development through the adoption of environmentally friendly building practices, conservation of energy, donation of seats, and the integration into a vibrant city.

Fans holding a “Hayya” card can take advantage of free transportation services via modern public transportation across Qatar. Fans will be able to directly access Lusail Stadium through the Doha Metro via Lusail Station on the Red Line, which is located a short distance from the stadium. Private car drivers and their escorts can reach the stadium via Al Khor Expressway, and parking and transportation are available near the stadium. After the World Cup, it will be possible to reach the stadium via the light tram network in Lusail City.

Lusail Stadium received two prestigious certificates in the sustainability of design and construction, from the Global Sustainability Assessment System (GSAS), in recognition of the commitment to sustainability standards during the design and construction stages of this architectural edifice.

Lusail Stadium also achieved a five-star rating under the Global Sustainability Assessment System (GSAS), which is administered by the Gulf Organization for Research & Development (GORD), and a Class A* rating for GSAS Construction Management.

All stadiums that will host the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 are obligated to meet the requirements for obtaining a minimum four-star certificate from the Global Sustainability Assessment System (GSAS). which was adopted by FIFA for its sustainability rating, to ensure that the infrastructure of the tournament adheres to stringent environmental standards.

الدوحة: يحظى استاد لوسيل، أكبر ملاعب كأس العالم FIFA قطر 2022، بمكانة خاصة لدى جماهير كرة القدم، حيث يستضيف المباراة النهائية للبطولة، التي ستقام يوم 18 ديسمبر المقبل، في ذكرى اليوم الوطني لدولة قطر، ليسطر بذلك ملعب لوسيل صفحة جديدة من تاريخ قطر المشرق.

ويجسّد استاد لوسيل، الذي تبلغ طاقته الاستيعابية 80 ألف مقعد، ما تحمله دولة قطر من طموح وحماس تجاه مشاركة الثقافة العربية مع العالم أجمع، حيث يمزج تصميم الاستاد بين فنون العمارة الإسلامية القديمة والحديثة، من خلال زخرفة الواجهة الخارجية بأشكال عربية هندسية مصممة بطريقة مبتكرة تسمح بدخول أشعة الشمس لداخل الاستاد.

ويتوسط الاستاد مدينة لوسيل العصرية، التي تبعد 20 كيلومترا إلى الشمال من مركز مدينة الدوحة، وستكون لوسيل مدينة المستقبل نظراً لتمتعها بكل مرافق ومقومات الحياة العصرية، إلى جانب قيمتها التاريخية الهامة في قلوب القطريين.

وبتسليط الضوء أكثر على استاد لوسيل، المصمم على شكل وعاء تقليدي، سوف تنجذب أنظار المشجعين للتصميم الأنيق الذي يتميز به الاستاد، وذلك بفضل واجهته الذهبية اللامعة، فضلا عن تزيينه بزخارف فائقة الدقة والبراعة، إلى جانب نقوش متموجة وفريدة، ما يعكس روعة التصميم وتفرّده.

ويُتوّج واجهة الاستاد المتقنة، سقف مصنوع من مواد تم اختيارها بعناية، بحيث ينشر الظل في أنحاء الاستاد، لكنه يسمح في الوقت ذاته بتسلل القدر الملائم من ضوء الشمس ليلامس عشباً من الفئة الأولى على أرضية الاستاد.

وفي المساء سوف تعمل منظومة الإضاءة المتطورة على خلق تناغم وتداخل مثالي بين أضواء الاستاد والمساحات المفتوحة في واجهته، ليحاكي وهج “فانوس الفنار” حين يرحب بالمشجعين القادمين إلى الاستاد.

وبمجرد الدخول إلى الاستاد، سوف يكون في استقبال الزوار مشهد مبهر لـ 80 ألفا من مشجعي كرة القدم، يرسمون لوحة من الألوان النابضة يرافقها حائط من الصوت، حيث يعمل السقف والجوانب المقوّسة للاستاد على ترديد صدى أغاني وهتافات المشجعين في آذان كل من تحتضنهم جنبات الاستاد.

ويستضيف ملعب لوسيل 10 مباريات في كأس العالم FIFA قطر 2022، وهو ما يعد أكبر عدد من المباريات مقارنة ببقية ملاعب البطولة، منها 6 مباريات في دور المجموعات، ومباراة واحدة في كل من ثمن النهائي وربع النهائي، ونصف النهائي، إضافة إلى المباراة النهائية.

وستكون مواجهة الأرجنتين والسعودية هي الأولى لحساب المجموعة الثالثة. كما يحتضن مواجهة البرازيل مع صربيا لحساب المجموعة السابعة، ثم تعود الأرجنتين للعب من جديد بملاقاة المكسيك، ولحساب المجموعة الثامنة تلاقي البرتغال منتخب الأوروغواي، وستلاقي السعودية المكسيك لحساب المجموعة الثالثة، والكاميرون ستواجه منتخب البرازيل.

وسيترك استاد لوسيل إرثاً رياضياً وثقافياً عالمياً يمتد إلى ما بعد المونديال، خاصة أنه سوف يحتفظ بمكانة خاصة في قلوب الناس في المنطقة كونه الاستاد الذي سوف يستضيف المباراة النهائية لأول بطولة كأس عالم لكرة القدم تقام في الوطن العربي. وسوف تمثل المكانة المرموقة للاستاد في هذه البطولة رمزاً لإلهام أجيال واعدة من الرياضيين من الشباب والفتيات، وكذلك تشجيع أفراد المجتمع بوجه عام على انتهاج أساليب حياة أكثر نشاطاً.

وسيترك الاستاد أيضا إرثاً من نوع آخر، حيث ستستفيد المشاريع التي سوف تستقبل العديد من مقاعده القابلة للتفكيك، والتي سيتم التبرّع بها عقب انتهاء البطولة. فبعد أن تشهد هذه المقاعد حماسة الجمهور خلال بطولة كأس العالم لكرة القدم، سوف تنتقل إلى العديد من الاستادات الأخرى، ما يوسّع من قاعدة ممارسة الرياضة.

وبعد تفكيك غالبية مقاعد استاد لوسيل، سوف يخضع الموقع لعملية تحوّل شاملة، لتبرز تحت سقف الاستاد مدارس ومساكن ومتاجر ومقاهٍ وعيادات طبية، وليصبح الاستاد مركزاً مجتمعياً فريداً تستفيد منه المدينة التي تحتضنه، والتي تنمو بوتيرة متسارعة. أما صفوف مقاعد الجزء العلوي من الاستاد، فسوف يتم تحويلها ببراعة إلى شرفات ومساحات يستفيد منها زوار المكان في المستقبل.

ويأتي الإبقاء على هذه المقاعد وسقف الاستاد بهدف الاستحضار الدائم للتاريخ الرياضي المجيد لهذا الصرح في أذهان الناس.. وسيمثل استاد لوسيل مصدر إلهام لمشجعي كرة القدم، ونجوم اللعبة المستقبليين، كما سيقدم دروساً يُستفاد منها في بناء الاستادات بالمستقبل.

وسوف يصبح هذا الاستاد نموذجاً في التطوير المستدام للاستادات عبر اتباع ممارسات البناء الصديقة للبيئة، والحفاظ على الطاقة، والتبرع بمقاعده، والاندماج في مدينة نابضة بالحياة.

وبإمكان المشجعين حاملي بطاقة “هيّا” الاستفادة من خدمات النقل المجانية عبر وسائل المواصلات العامة الحديثة في أنحاء قطر.. وسيتمكن المشجعون من الوصول مباشرة إلى ملعب لوسيل من خلال مترو الدوحة عبر محطة لوسيل على الخط الأحمر، التي تقع على مسافة قصيرة من الملعب.

أما سائقو السيارات الخاصة ومرافقوهم فيمكنهم الوصول إلى الملعب عبر طريق الخور السريع، وتتوفر مواقف السيارات ووسائل النقل بالقرب من الملعب. وفي المرحلة التي تلي المونديال، سيصبح من الممكن الوصول إلى الملعب عن طريق شبكة الترام الخفيف بمدينة لوسيل.

وحصل استاد لوسيل على شهادتين مرموقتين في استدامة التصميم وأعمال البناء، من برنامج المنظومة العالمية لتقييم الاستدامة “جي ساس”، تقديرا لالتزام الصرح المونديالي الفريد بمعايير الاستدامة خلال مراحل التصميم وتشييد الصرح المعماري، الذي سيشهد نهائي المونديال في ديسمبر المقبل.

ومنحت المؤسسة الخليجية للبحث والتطوير “جورد”، بعد الانتهاء من أعمال التدقيق، استاد لوسيل شهادة”جي ساس” من فئة الخمس نجوم في التصميم والبناء، وشهادة إدارة البناء من فئة التميز (أ).

وتلتزم جميع الملاعب التي ستحتضن منافسات كأس العالم FIFA قطر 2022 باستيفاء متطلبات الحصول على شهادة من فئة أربع نجوم كحد أدنى من المنظومة العالمية لتقييم الاستدامة “جي ساس”، والتي اعتمدها الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم “فيفا” لتصنيف الاستدامة، لضمان التزام البنية التحتية للبطولة بالمعايير البيئية الصارمة.
