Qatari Smart Parking Platform Launches

Doha: HE Minister of Transport Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti and HE Minister of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai launched the “Smart Parking” service on the TASMU app, which allows users to have a smooth and distinctive parking experience by providing the necessary information about available parking and the possibility of identified and accessed using their mobile phone.

The launch of the smart parking service is part of the five smart sectors included in the Smart Qatar Program (TASMU).

The launch of the new service came as a result of concerted efforts between government agencies, including the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Municipality, and the Public Works Authority (Ashghal), with the aim of providing a unified digital experience for drivers and car park owners in the State of Qatar, as the platform contains parking spaces in the parking lots adjacent to the roads and vital areas such as the Corniche and West Bay, in addition to more than 28,000 parking spaces in Souq Waqif, Al Bidda Park, the Corniche, the Gate Mall, Lusail, Msheireb and others, while additional parking will be added later to the application.

HE Minister of Transport Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti said that the development of an integrated and effective framework for parking management supports the comprehensive transport system and in turn helps in setting priorities and supporting the paradigm transformation of integrated and sustainable transport.

He pointed out that the smart parking project provides live data supported by the best recommendations and real-time predictions about the available parking lots, which allows drivers to reduce commuting time on the roads and contributes to achieving a key performance indicator for the transportation sector, which is reducing traffic congestion and delays on the roads.

He added that the project also helps reduce environmental pollution by reducing the duration of the car journey and the ineffective operation of the vehicle’s engine, which directly reduces harmful emissions to the environment, in line with the strategic objectives of the transportation sector.

For his part, HE Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai said that launching the project was an important first step towards having a smart Qatar. His Excellency added that the project provides many benefits and sustainable technologies to the people in Qatar. His Excellency also said that the smart parking service aims to increase the efficiency of using parking space and allows drivers to access parking data in real-time, which will lead to the best possible management of facilities and parking.

His Excellency said that the project is an application of technologies like the Internet of Things, which can enhance safety and lead to positive environmental and societal implications. His Excellency also said that it can lead to increased efficiency in the use of parking spots in vital and commercial areas, which in turn improves user experience.

The Platform will address difficulties drivers face in parking their cars. It will also enable access to all parking spots in Qatar digitally, by using state-of-the-art sensors in order to provide a unified, digital parking experience.

This launch is only the initial phase and will be followed by other features, such as reserving parking and controlling duration of parking. It will also allow drivers to use a “Find My Car” feature, in case they forget where they parked.

الدوحة: دشن سعادة السيد جاسم بن سيف السليطي وزير المواصلات، وسعادة السيد محمد بن علي المناعي وزير الاتصالات وتكنولوجيا المعلومات، خدمة “المواقف الذكية” على تطبيق “تسمو”، التي تتيح للمستخدمين تجربة سلسة ومميزة في صف السيارات عبر توفير المعلومات اللازمة حول المواقف المتاحة وإمكانية تحديدها والوصول إليها باستخدام هواتفهم الجوالة.

ويعتبر إطلاق خدمة المواقف الذكية جزءا من القطاعات الخمسة الذكية المندرجة في برنامج قطر الذكية “تسمو”.

وجاء تدشين الخدمة الجديدة نتيجة لتضافر الجهود بين الجهات الحكومية، من بينها وزارة الاتصالات وتكنولوجيا المعلومات، ووزارة المواصلات، ووزارة البلدية، وهيئة الأشغال العامة أشغال، وذلك بهدف تقديم تجربة رقمية موحدة للسائقين وأصحاب مواقف السيارات في دولة قطر، حيث إن المنصة تحتوي على أماكن لصف السيارات في المواقف المحاذية للطرق والمناطق الحيوية مثل الكورنيش والخليج الغربي، بالإضافة إلى أكثر 28 ألف موقف في سوق واقف وحديقة البدع والكورنيش وذي جيت مول ولوسيل ومشيرب وغيرها، بينما سيتم إضافة مواقف إضافية لاحقا للتطبيق.

وقال سعادة السيد جاسم بن سيف السليطي وزير المواصلات إن وضع إطار متكامل وفعال لإدارة مواقف السيارات يدعم منظومة النقل الشاملة ويساعد بدوره في تحديد الأولويات ودعم التحول النموذجي للنقل المتكامل والمستدام.

وأشار إلى أن مشروع المواقف الذكية يوفر بيانات مباشرة مدعومة بأفضل التوصيات والتوقعات في الوقت الفعلي حول مواقف السيارات المتاحة، بما يسمح بتقليل وقت التنقل للسائقين في الطرقات ويسهم في تحقيق مؤشر أداء رئيسي لقطاع المواصلات، وهو الحد من الازدحام المروري وتقليص التأخير على الطرقات.

وأضاف أن المشروع يساعد أيضا في الحد من التلوث البيئي عبر تقليل مدة الرحلة بالسيارة والتشغيل غير الفعال لمحرك المركبة، مما يخفف بشكل مباشر من الانبعاثات الضارة للبيئة، توافقا مع الأهداف الاستراتيجية لقطاع المواصلات.

من جانبه، قال سعادة السيد محمد بن علي المناعي وزير الاتصالات وتكنولوجيا المعلومات إن إطلاق مشروع المواقف الذكية يعد خطوة مهمة نحو الوصول إلى قطر الذكية، حيث يوفر فوائد وتقنيات مستدامة للمجتمع في قطر، وإن خدمة المواقف الذكية تهدف إلى زيادة كفاءة استخدام مواقف السيارات وإتاحة وصول السائقين إلى بيانات المواقف في الوقت الفعلي عبر توفرها في منصة “تسمو”، مما يسمح باتخاذ قرارات قائمة على البيانات وتحقيق إدارة فضلى لمرافق وقوف السيارات.

وأضاف سعادته أنه من خلال تكامل التكنولوجيا التحويلية والاستفادة من التقنيات الكامنة، مثل إنترنت الأشياء والواقع المعزز، جاءت خدمة المواقف الذكية لتحقيق مزايا السلامة والإيجابيات البيئية والاجتماعية، بالإضافة إلى زيادة كفاءة استخدام مواقف السيارات للمناطق الحيوية والتجارية، مما يعد خطوة للارتقاء بمستوى تجربة المستخدمين.

وتسعى منصة المواقف الذكية إلى معالجة الصعوبات التي يواجهها سائقو المركبات في صف سياراتهم، كما تهدف إلى إتاحة جميع أماكن وقوف المركبات في قطر رقميا عبر الاستعانة بأحدث أجهزة استشعار وقوف السيارات ودمج جميع أنظمة إدارة مواقف المركبات الحالية لتوفير تجربة رقمية موحدة في صف السيارات.

ويعتبر الإطلاق المبدئي، الخطوة الأولى لتوفير خدمة المواقف الذكية، حيث ستشمل الإصدارات المستقبلية العديد من المزايا، مثل الحجز المسبق والتحكم في فترات وقوف السيارات وإتاحة خيارات من قبيل “ابحث عن سيارتي” وتوفير سجل لكل حساب وخصائص أخرى سيتم تنفيذها على عدة مراحل، بعد أن تتسلم وزارة المواصلات هذا المشروع بشكل كامل.

ويمكن استخدام هذه الخدمة من خلال تطبيق “تسمو” المتوفر على App Store وGoogle Play.
