HH the Amir Inaugurates Al Kharsaah Solar Power Plant

Doha: HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani inaugurated on Tuesday morning Al Kharsaah Solar Power Plant in Al Kharsaah.
During the ceremony, a documentary film was shown about the plant which covers 10 square kilometers and includes more than 1,800,000 solar panels.
The film also showed the phases of the plant progress and its role in meeting 10% of the country’s peak electricity demand, as well as the operations and the use of robots to enhance the efficiency of the plant.
After the inauguration, HH the Amir toured the plant’s main control room and listened to an explanation of its role in meeting the local needs of energy supply and QatarEnergy’s strategic goals for sustainability, which includes producing clean energy towards a responsible transition to low-carbon energy.
HE Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani, a number of Their Excellencies Sheikhs and ministers, and senior officials of local and international companies attended the ceremony.

الدوحة: تفضل حضرة صاحب السمو الشيخ تميم بن حمد آل ثاني أمير البلاد المفدى، فشمل برعايته الكريمة حفل افتتاح محطة الخرسعة للطاقة الشمسية، في منطقة الخرسعة صباح الأمس.
وخلال الحفل تم عرض فيلم وثائقي حول المحطة التي تبلغ مساحتها أكثر من 10 كيلومترات مربعة، وتتضمن ما يزيد على 1,800,000 لوحة شمسية، كما تضمن الفيلم مراحل إنجاز المحطة ودورها في توفير ما يعادل 10 بالمئة من الطاقة الكهربائية للدولة وقت الذروة، وعمليات التشغيل وتوظيف آلات الروبوت لتعزيز كفاءة المحطة.
وعقب الافتتاح، قام سمو الأمير المفدى بجولة اطلع خلالها على غرفة التحكم الرئيسية للمحطة، كما استمع إلى شرح حول دورها في تلبية الاحتياجات المحلية من إمدادات الطاقة والأهداف الاستراتيجية لقطر للطاقة للاستدامة، والتي تتضمن إنتاج طاقة نظيفة نحو انتقال مسؤول إلى طاقة منخفضة الكربون.
حضر الحفل معالي الشيخ خالد بن خليفة بن عبدالعزيز آل ثاني رئيس مجلس الوزراء ووزير الداخلية، كما حضره عدد من أصحاب السعادة الشيوخ والوزراء وكبار مسؤولي الشركات المحلية والعالمية.
