3-2-1 Museum ready for World Cup visitors

Doha: The 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum (QOSM) is ready to receive World Cup visitors come November, its director said.
“We are really keen to receive everybody because at the end of the day, we want to convey a message to them, it is about conveying the message, not just the number of visitors,” said Director of 3-2-1 QOSM, Abdulla Yousuf Al Mulla to The Peninsula.
Around 500,000 visitors are expected at the museum by the end of this year. The museum is beside the Khalifa International Stadium, one of the eight venues that will be used for the football showpiece. Over a 100,000 people have so far visited the museum since its opening in March.
“The purpose of building the museum is [about] three key messages: education, building museum culture, and also the investment that Qatar has put on the human resources, infrastructures, state-of-the-art museum/airport/metro,” Al Mulla explained.
He added that the legacy of Qatar on sports is “unbelievable,” and a proof is visiting the 3-2-1.
The Director also highlighted Qatar as the capital of sports in the Arab world.
To date, over 500 events and tournaments have been hosted by the country from 2006; and adding to the long list is the upcoming FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, happening in less than 50 days.
On October 2, the museum opened its first exhibition “World of Football,” which will run until April 1, 2023. It showcases over 200 items.
The 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum offers a memorable and interactive trip through the legacy of sports and the Olympic Games. It has seven galleries housing objects from around the globe: World of Emotion; A Global History of Sport; Olympics; Hall of Athletes; Qatar – Hosting Nation; Qatar Sports Culture, and Activation Zone. It is a member of the Olympic Museum Network.
It presents a multilayered educational narrative that highlights the importance of sports in Qatar by fusing a vast collection with cutting-edge technology. The museum is approximately 19,000sqm and is home to hundreds of items from all over the world, dating from the beginnings of sports to the present.
The 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum hopes to inspire and engage its community through its interactive spaces and scheduled programmes.
It also promotes physical exercise and sports among its patrons.

وأضاف مدير متحف قطر الأولمبي والرياضي 3-2-1، عبد الله يوسف الملا إلى ذا بينينسولا: “نحن حريصون حقاً على استقبال الجميع لأننا نريد أن ننقل رسالة إليهم واستعدادنا يتعلق بنقل الرسالة، وليس فقط عدد الزوار”، ومن المتوقع أن يزور المتحف حوالي 500000 زائر بحلول نهاية هذا العام. حيث يقع المتحف بجانب استاد خليفة الدولي، أحد الأماكن الثمانية التي ستُستخدم لعرض كرة القدم. وقد زار المتحف حتى الآن أكثر من 100 ألف شخص منذ افتتاحه في مارس.
“الغرض من بناء المتحف هو إيصال ثلاث رسائل رئيسية: التعليم، وبناء ثقافة المتاحف، وأيضاً الاستثمار الذي وضعته قطر في الموارد البشرية، والبنى التحتية، والمتحف / المطار / المترو الحديث،”.
وأضاف أن إرث قطر في الرياضة “لا يصدق”، والدليل زيارة 3-2-1.
كما سلط الضوء على قطر كعاصمة للرياضة في الوطن العربي.
فقد استضافت البلاد، حتى الآن، أكثر من 500 حدث وبطولة منذ عام 2006؛ ويضاف إلى القائمة الطويلة بطولة كأس العالم لكرة القدم قطر 2022 القادمة، والتي ستُقام في أقل من 50 يوماً.
وقد افتتح المتحف معرضه الأول “عالم كرة القدم”، في 2 أكتوبر، والذي سيستمر حتى 1 أبريل 2023. ويعرض أكثر من 200 قطعة.
ويقدم متحف قطر الأولمبي والرياضي 3-2-1 رحلة تفاعلية لا تُنسى من خلال تراث الرياضة والألعاب الأولمبية. حيث لديها سبعة معارض تضم أشياء من جميع أنحاء العالم: عالم العاطفة ؛ تاريخ عالمي للرياضة؛ دورة الالعاب الاولمبية قاعة الرياضيين قطر – الدولة المضيفة؛ منطقة الثقافة الرياضية والتنشيط في قطر. وهي عضو في شبكة المتاحف الأولمبية.
ويقدم سرداً تعليمياً متعدد المستويات يسلط الضوء على أهمية الرياضة في قطر من خلال دمج مجموعة كبيرة مع أحدث التقنيات. تبلغ مساحة المتحف حوالي 19000 متر مربع وهو موطن لمئات العناصر من جميع أنحاء العالم، والتي يعود تاريخها إلى بدايات الرياضة حتى الوقت الحاضر.
يأمل متحف قطر الأولمبي والرياضي 3-2-1 في إلهام وإشراك مجتمعه من خلال المساحات التفاعلية والبرامج المجدولة.
كما أنه يشجع على ممارسة الرياضة البدنية والرياضة بين رعاته.
