Antares reach the moon twice this month

Doha: The Qatari Calendar House announced that the sky of the State of Qatar and the countries of the Arab region will spectate the star of Antares reaching its closest point to the moon twice during the month of September 2022 AD; Noting that the Antares can be seen during the current period in the evening sky towards the southwest horizon.
Dr. Bashir Marzouk, “the astronomer expert at the Qatari Calendar House” stated that the star of Antares will fall next to the moon for the first time during the month of September on the evening of Saturday 7 of Safar 1444 AH, corresponding to September 3, 2022 AD, knowing that the angular distance between them will be approximately 2.5 degrees of arc, Residents of the State of Qatar can enjoy observing and seeing the star of Antares and the moon together with the naked eye above the southwestern horizon of the sky of the State of Qatar from after sunset on Saturday until before sunset, knowing that the time of sunset on Saturday will be at 5:51 pm Doha local time, While the sunset time for Antares will be at 10:22 pm.
On Friday evening, Rabi’ al-Awwal 4, 1444 AH, corresponding to September 30, 2022 AD, the star Antares will fall next to the moon for the second time during the month of September, and the residents of the State of Qatar can enjoy observing and seeing the star of Antares and the moon together with the naked eye above the southwestern horizon of the sky The State of Qatar from after sunset on Friday at 5:22 pm Doha local time until before the sunset at 8:30 pm.
Dr. Bashir Marzouk added that the importance of these phenomena lies in the fact that they are a good opportunity to ascertain the accuracy of the astronomical calculations used in calculating the orbits of the planets, stars and moon around us, in addition to the possibility of enjoying seeing and photographing the moon and the star of Antares together at the nearest point, and these phenomena are also a guide for amateur astronomers to learn about the celestial bodies they see in the sky of the State of Qatar.
It is worth noting that the star of Antares is a great red giant, which is why the people of the Arabian Peninsula call it (Al-Ahmar), and it is the brightest star in the constellation of Scorpio, and it is one of the distinctive stars during the summer, and is approximately 460 light-years away from Earth.

الدوحة: أعلنت دار التقويم القطري أنه بمشيئة الله تعالى سوف تشهد سماء دولة قطر، ودول المنطقة العربية ظاهرة وصول نجم قلب العقرب إلى أقرب نقطة من القمر مرتين خلال شهر سبتمبر 2022م؛ علمًا بأن قلب العقرب يمكن رؤيته خلال الفترة الحالية في سماء المساء باتجاه الأفق الجنوبي الغربي.
وذكر الدكتور بشير مرزوق “الخبير الفلكي بدار التقويم القطري” أن نجم قلب العقرب سيقع بجوار القمر للمرة الأولى خلال شهر سبتمبر مساء يوم السبت 7 من شهر صفر 1444هـ، الموافق 3 من شهر سبتمبر 2022م، علمًا بأن البعد الزاوي بينهما سيكون 2.5 درجة قوسية تقريبًا، ويمكن لسكان دولة قطر الاستمتاع برصد ورؤية نجم قلب العقرب والقمر معًا بالعين المجردة أعلى الأفق الجنوبي الغربي لسماء دولة قطر من بعد غروب شمس السبت وحتى قبل موعد غروب قلب العقرب، علمًا بأن وقت غروب شمس السبت سيكون عند الساعة 5:51 مساءً بتوقيت الدوحة المحلي، بينما سيكون موعد غروب قلب العقرب عند الساعة 10:22 مساءً.
أما في مساء يوم الجمعة 4 من شهر ربيع الأول 1444هـ، الموافق 30 من شهر سبتمبر 2022م، سيقع نجم قلب العقرب بجوار القمر للمرة الثانية خلال شهر سبتمبر، ويمكن لسكان دولة قطر الاستمتاع برصد ورؤية نجم قلب العقرب والقمر معًا بالعين المجردة أعلى الأفق الجنوبي الغربي لسماء دولة قطر من بعد غروب شمس الجمعة عند الساعة 5:22 مساءً بتوقيت الدوحة المحلي وحتى قبل موعد غروب القمر عند الساعة 8:30 مساءً.
وأضاف الدكتور بشير مرزوق أن أهمية تلك الظواهر تكمن في أنها فرصة جيدة للتأكد من مدى دقة الحسابات الفلكية المستخدمة في حساب مدارات الكواكب والنجوم والقمر حولنا، إضافة إلى إمكانية الاستمتاع برؤية وتصوير القمر ونجم قلب العقرب معًا عند أقرب نقطة، كما تعتبر هذه الظواهر دليلا لهواة الفلك والمهتمين بعلم الفلك للتعرف على ما يشاهدونه من أجرام سماوية في سماء دولة قطر .
الجدير بالذكر أن نجم قلب العقرب هو عملاق عظيم أحمر، ولذا يسميه أهل الجزيرة العربية بـ (الأحيمر)، وهو ألمع نجوم كوكبة العقرب، وهو أحد النجوم المميزة خلال فصل الصيف، ويبعد عن الأرض بنحو 460 سنة ضوئية تقريبًا.
