Beirut: Qatari driver Nasser Saleh Al-Attiyah seeks to win the title of the forty-fourth edition of the Lebanon International Rally, the last round of the Middle East Rally Championship for the 2022 season, which will start on Friday, with the participation of thirty-four Arab and international participants.
Al-Attiyah, who won the Middle East Championship for the 18th time officially after the cancellation of the Cyprus Rally, hopes to be crowned in Lebanon, the last stage of the Middle East championship this season, but he will face strong competition from the Lebanese driver Roger Feghali, who holds the record for winning his country’s rally with 15 titles. .
The Qatari driver enters the last round of the Middle East Championship and leads the overall drivers’ standings with 149 points, a full 78 points ahead of Omani Abdullah Al-Rawahi, who came second with 71 points, which is an irreplaceable difference, so Al-Attiyah won the championship title before this round.
Jordanian Issa Abu Jamous came in third place with 59 points, while Kuwaiti Meshary Al-Dhafiri came fourth with 51 points, while Qatari Nasser Khalifa Al-Attiyah completed the list of the first five positions with 49 points.
The total Lebanon Rally distance, which constitutes the final round of the Middle East Championship, is 478.83 km, of which 286.53 km are the length of the ten special stages of speed.
The demonstration stage of the rally will be held on Friday evening at the Lebanese Automobile and Tourism Club, and the rally will be completed on Saturday and Sunday in the Byblos and Batroun regions, and then the closing ceremony will be held on Sunday evening in the Lebanese Club.

ويمني العطية الذي حسم لقب بطولة الشرق الأوسط للمرة الثامنة عشرة رسميا بعد إلغاء رالي قبرص، النفس بالتتويج في لبنان آخر مراحل البطولة الشرق أوسطية هذا الموسم، إلا أنه سيواجه منافسة قوية من السائق اللبناني روجيه فغالي الذي يحمل الرقم القياسي في الفوز برالي بلاده برصيد 15 لقبا.
ويدخل السائق القطري الجولة الأخيرة من بطولة الشرق الأوسط وهو يتصدر الترتيب العام للسائقين برصيد 149 نقطة، وبفارق 78 نقطة كاملة عن العماني عبد الله الرواحي صاحب المركز الثاني برصيد 71 نقطة، وهو الفارق الذي لا يمكن تعويضه، لذلك حسم العطية لقب البطولة قبل هذه الجولة.
ويحتل الأردني عيسى أبو جاموس المركز الثالث برصيد 59 نقطة، فيما جاء الكويتي مشاري الظفيري في المركز الرابع برصيد 51 نقطة، بينما أكمل القطري ناصر خليفة العطية قائمة المراكز الخمسة الأولى برصيد 49 نقطة.
تبلغ المسافة الاجمالية لرالي لبنان الذي يشكل الجولة الختامية من بطولة الشرق الأوسط 478.83 كلم منها 286.53 كلم طول المراحل الخاصة للسرعة وعددها عشر مراحل.
ومن المقرر أن تقام المرحلة الاستعراضية للرالي مساء بعد غد الجمعة في نادي السيارات والسياحة اللبناني، على أن يستكمل الرالي يومي السبت والأحد المقبلين في منطقتي جبيل والبترون، ومن ثم يقام حفل الختام مساء الأحد في النادي اللبناني.
