Ministry of Education Holds Final Contests for Verbal Fluency in English Language

Doha: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education’s Department of Early Education held the final contests for the English verbal fluency for super readers.
Held under the slogan: ” Best Start.. Read with Heart”, the final contest included two groups of school juries to test 26 qualified schools.
Assistant Director of the Early Child Department Dhabia Al Khulaifi said the contests aimed at raising the academic achievement in linguistic skills for super readers in English language, and enrich their language and linguistic achievement with a significant number of words that are used in innovative expression.
She added that the contests intend to feed students with the fundamental skills and supportive capabilities during their upcoming educational process, based on the strategic objectives of the Department of Early Education, emanating from the MoEHE’s goals.
For her part, Head of the Foundation Stage Department in the Early Child Department Sharifa Al Yazidi indicated that the contest underwent previous planning stages, where the first phase was held last March, and the final contests for the qualifiers ended on May 4, while winners will be honored in an organized ceremony at MoEHE’s premises next Tuesday.
The preparation for this contest has been ongoing since the beginning of the academic class, where the planning team divided the contest into three-pronged phases: internal final contests in school, school geographic scope, final phase that depends on applying the winning criteria through correctly pronouncing the words in less time, member of the jury committee Mounira Bassam explained.
She added that whenever students pass certain stage, words pronunciation becomes difficult creating interesting challenge and competition, and leading to an increasing enthusiasm among the participating and qualified schools.

الدوحة: عقدت إدارة التعليم المبكر بوزارة التربية والتعليم والتعليم العالي، التصفيات النهائية لمسابقة الطلاقة اللفظية باللغة الإنجليزية لطلاب التأسيسي “Super Readers”، التي أجريت تحت شعار “Best Start..Read with heart”، حيث تضمنت التصفيات مجموعتين من لجان تحكيم المدارس، لاختبار 26 مدرسة متأهلة.
وفي هذا الإطار، قالت السيدة ظبية الخليفي مساعد مدير إدارة التعليم المبكر: إن المسابقة هدفت إلى رفع التحصيل الأكاديمي في المهارات اللغوية لطلاب المرحلة التأسيسية باللغة الإنجليزية، والتأكيد على إثراء لغتهم وحصيلتهم اللغوية بعدد كبير من المفردات التي تستخدم في التعبير الإبداعي، وإكسابهم المزيد من المهارات والقدرات الأساسية الداعمة لهم خلال مسيرتهم التعليمية المقبلة، وفق أهداف إدارة التعليم المبكر الاستراتيجية، المنبثقة عن أهداف وزارة التربية والتعليم والتعليم العالي.
بدورها، أوضحت السيدة شريفة اليزيدي، رئيس قسم المرحلة التأسيسية بإدارة التعليم المبكر، أن المسابقة مرت بمراحل تخطيط سابقة، حيث جرت المرحلة الأولى للمسابقة في شهر مارس الماضي، وانتهت التصفيات النهائية يوم الخميس 4 مايو، فيما سيتم تكريم الفائزين بحفل منظم بمبنى الوزارة يوم الثلاثاء المقبل.
وأوضحت السيدة منيرة بسام، محكمة في لجان التحكيم، أنه جرى الاستعداد لهذه المسابقة منذ بدايات الفصل الدراسي، حيث قام فريق التخطيط بتقسيم المسابقة لثلاث مراحل هي: التصفيات الداخلية في المدرسة، ومرحلة النطاق الجغرافي للمدارس، ومرحلة التصفيات النهائية التي تعتمد على تطبيق معايير الفوز من خلال نطق الكلمات بشكل صحيح في زمن أقل.
وأضافت أنه كلما تخطى الطالب المشارك مرحلة ما، ازدادت صعوبة الكلمات لتشكل أمامه تحديا وتنافسا مشوقا، ما أدى إلى زيادة الحماس بين المدارس المشاركة والمتأهلة، حيث تفاعلت المنسقات والمعلمات بشكل رائع، وقمن بتدريب الطلبة بإتقان، فيما بدا تفاعل الطلبة واضحا مع تشجيع أولياء أمورهم للاستمرار والفوز في التصفيات النهائية.
