Qatar Museums Calls on Innovators to Join Al-Najada Initiative, New Craft Center in Heart of Doha

Doha: Qatar Museums has called on the talents, craftsmen and entrepreneurs in the State of Qatar to join Al-Najada initiative, the new craft center in the heart of Doha, and to submit their applications to participate in this innovative space that has been rehabilitated to host a multidisciplinary community and appropriate environment for interaction and cooperation among the traditional craftsmen, contemporary artists, designers and makers.

This came during the open meeting that was organized Wednesday by Qatar Museums and featured a presentation and explanation of the project milestones and goals, in addition to the ways of registering, participating and joining the program. The event featured many remarks delivered by Qatar Museums representatives and the project implementer.

Director of Cultural Heritage Protection at Qatar Museums Eng. Abdullatif Al Jasmi said in his remarks to Qatar News Agency (QNA) that Fareej Al-Najada is one of the few remaining districts within Doha city that has been entirely restored and maintained through the use of the original materials of construction, adding that Qatar Museums, and through this project, intends to link between the districts of heritage buildings and advance the innovative industries development in the state of Qatar through formulating a model that embraces the traditional and contemporary crafts that primarily create joint space combining the heritage, economy and innovators, indicating that the unified system ensures the conservation of the heritage and historic landmarks and simultaneously creates new contemporary narration and contributes to preserving and protecting it.

He reaffirmed that the project intends to embrace a broad range of innovators in Qatar and to further absorb large number of applicants to join the project, in addition to evaluating their experiences and the programs they intend to offer, as well as selecting the best programs for the service of the community and the site to revive Al-Najada and make it innovative in the center of Doha.

The meeting featured a detailed explanation for Al-Najada landmarks along its traditional buildings and the original historic structures.

الدوحة: دعت متاحف قطر المبدعين والحرفيين ورواد الأعمال في الدولة إلى الانضمام إلى مبادرة /النجادة – مركز الحرف الجديد في قلب الدوحة/، وتقديم طلباتهم للمشاركة في هذا الفضاء الإبداعي الذي تم ترميمه وإعادة تأهيله ليستضيف مجتمعا متعدد التخصصات، وبيئة مناسبة للتفاعل والتعاون بين الحرفيين التقليديين، والفنانين المعاصرين، والمصممين، والصناع.

جاء ذلك خلال لقاء مفتوح نظمته متاحف قطر بمتحف قطر الوطني، اليوم، اشتمل على عرض تقديمي وشرح لمعالم المشروع وأهدافه، وكيفية التسجيل والمشاركة والانضمام إليه، تحدث فيه ممثلون لمتاحف قطر والشركة المنفذة للمشروع.

وأوضح المهندس عبد اللطيف الجسمي، مدير إدارة حماية التراث الثقافي في متاحف قطر، في تصريح خاص لوكالة الأنباء القطرية /قنا/، أن فريج النجادة من الأحياء التاريخية القليلة المتبقية داخل مدينة الدوحة، التي تم ترميمها، والتدخل لصونها بالكامل، باستخدام المواد الأصلية في البناء والسبل الأصلية في الترميم.

وأضاف الجسمي: تسعى متاحف قطر في هذا المشروع للربط بين إحياء المباني التراثية ودفع عجلة تنمية الصناعات الإبداعية في الدولة، بصياغة نموذج يحتضن الحرف التقليدية والمعاصرة، ويخلق مساحة مشتركة تجمع بين التراث والاقتصاد والمبدعين. وهذا النظام الموحد يضمن المحافظة على المعلم التراثي والتاريخي، ويصنع رواية جديدة معاصرة في الوقت نفسه، ويساهم المجتمع في صونه وحمايته.

وأكد مدير إدارة حماية التراث الثقافي في متاحف قطر أن المشروع يهدف لاحتواء المبدعين في قطر، واستيعاب أكبر عدد من المتقدمين للانضمام إليه، وتقويم تجاربهم والبرامج التي يسعون لتقديمها، واختيار أفضلها لخدمة المجتمع والموقع، ليكون النجادة حيا إبداعيا جديدا في وسط الدوحة.

وتضمن اللقاء شرحا تفصيليا لمعالم فريج النجادة وعمارته التقليدية وبنيانه التاريخي الأصلي. وتشكله من 17 بيتا كانت ملكا لأسر قطرية، قبل أن يشغلها فيما بعد حرفيون يبيعون سلعا ومنتجات تقليدية. كما تم توضيح الإمكانيات التي يتيحها للمشاركين فيه من المبدعين الناشئين والمتمرسين الذين يركزون على الحرف الجديدة الآخذة في النمو بالدولة ، وتشمل: الحياكة، وتصميم المجوهرات، والخزف، والفخار، وصناعة العطور، وصناعة الزجاج، والأزياء، والمنسوجات، فيما تتضمن فنون الطهي التحميص، والمزارع الصغيرة، والأغذية المنتجة في قطر، وتصميم أدوات المائدة والتعبئة والتغليف، بينما تتضمن التجارب الرقمية إنتاج الفيديوهات، والواقع المعزز، والواقع الافتراضي، والفنون الرقمية، والإصدار الثالث لشبكة الإنترنت وتقنية الميتافيرس.
