Doha: Mr. Omar Abdul Rahman Al Jaber, Executive Director of the Housing Department at the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy, revealed that the committee will announce in the coming period the “Caravans Village” project.
Al-Jaber confirmed, in a statement, that the goal of the project is to provide multiple housing options for fans who will come to Qatar to attend the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, which will start on November 21 and conclude on December 18, and it also aims to activate the community’s involvement in this major event.
He pointed out that work is progressing well to complete the final stages of the residential facilities that the committee is working on converting into residential hotels during the tournament, in cooperation with the Accor International Hotel Group, and they will be classified from 3 to 5 stars according to the areas in which they are located.
Al-Jaber said: There are many options that the committee is working on in order to accommodate the fans of the World Cup. It is also working to follow up on projects that serve the public of the World Cup, such as Barwa village and tourist ships.. He noted that the coming period would see the arrival of hotel ships that will accommodate more than 9,500 people and the launch of the first residential steamer on November 13th.
He added that the committee had received many requests for housing reservations and that there was a great demand for booking rooms for floating hotels (ships), stressing that the committee would work to provide additional rooms for reservations.

الدوحة: كشف السيد عمر عبدالرحمن الجابر، المدير التنفيذي لإدارة الإسكان في اللجنة العليا للمشاريع والإرث، أن اللجنة ستعلن في الفترة المقبلة عن مشروع جديد تحت مسمى /قرية الكرفانات/.
وأكد الجابر ،في تصريح له، أن الهدف من المشروع توفير خيارات سكنية متعددة للجماهير التي ستحضر إلى قطر لمتابعة بطولة كأس العالم FIFA قطر 2022، والتي ستنطلق في 21 نوفمبر وتختتم في 18 ديسمبر المقبلين، كما أنه يهدف لتفعيل إشراك المجتمع في هذا الحدث الكبير.
وأشار إلى أن العمل يسير بشكل جيد لإنجاز المراحل النهائية للمرافق السكنية التي تعمل اللجنة على تحويلها إلى فنادق سكنية خلال البطولة، بالتعاون مع مجموعة أكور العالمية للفنادق، وسيتم تصنيفها من 3 إلى 5 نجوم حسب المناطق التي تقع فيها.
وقال الجابر: إن هناك خيارات عديدة تعمل عليها اللجنة من أجل إسكان جماهير المونديال، كما تعمل على متابعة المشاريع التي تخدم جمهور كأس العام مثل قرية بروة، والبواخر السياحية.. منوها بأن الفترة المقبلة ستشهد وصول البواخر الفندقية التي تسع أكثر من 9500 شخص، وسيكون تدشين أول باخرة سكنية في 13 نوفمبر المقبل.
وأضاف أن اللجنة تلقت العديد من الطلبات الخاصة بحجوزات الإسكان، وأن هناك إقبالا كبيرا على حجز الغرف الخاصة بالفنادق العائمة /بواخر/، مؤكدا أن اللجنة ستعمل على توفير غرف إضافية للحجز.
