Defenseless Fish Star Adjoins Moon Twice in Qatar’s Sky in August

Doha: Qatar Calendar House announced that the skies of the State of Qatar and the countries of the Arab region will witness the phenomenon of the arrival of the star of the defenseless fish to the nearest point of the moon twice during the month of August, noting that the defenseless fish can be seen during the current period in the evening sky towards the western horizon.

The astronomy expert at the Qatar Calendar House Dr Bashir Marzouk said that the star of the defenseless fish will be located next to the moon for the first time on Aug. 3, 2022, noting that the angular distance between them will be approximately 4.6 arc degrees, and the residents of the state of Qatar can enjoy observing and seeing the star of the defenseless fish and the moon together with the naked eye above the western horizon of the sky of the state of Qatar from after sunset tomorrow and even before the time of sunset on Wednesday will be at 6:18 pm Doha local time, while the date of sunset of the defenseless fish will be at 9:52 pm.

He continued that on the evening of Aug. 31, 2022, the star of the defenseless fish will be located next to the moon for the second time during the month of August, and the residents of the state of Qatar can enjoy observing and seeing the star of the defenseless fish and the moon together with the naked eye above the western horizon of the sky of the state of Qatar after sunset on Wednesday at 5:24 pm Doha local time and even before the date of sunset of the defenseless fish at 8:02 pm.

Dr. Bashir Marzouk added that the importance of these phenomena lies in the fact that they are a good opportunity to confirm the accuracy of astronomical calculations used to calculate the orbits of planets, stars and the moon around us, in addition to the possibility of enjoying seeing and photographing the moon and the star of the defenseless fish together at the nearest point.

الدوحة: أعلنت دار التقويم القطري أنه بمشيئة الله تعالى سوف تشهد سماء دولة قطر، ودول المنطقة العربية ظاهرة وصول نجم السماك الأعزل إلى أقرب نقطة من القمر مرتين خلال شهر أغسطس الجاري، علما بأن السماك الأعزل يمكن رؤيته خلال الفترة الحالية في سماء المساء باتجاه الأفق الغربي.

وقال الدكتور بشير مرزوق /الخبير الفلكي بدار التقويم القطري/:” أن نجم السماك الأعزل سيقع بجوار القمر للمرة الأولى خلال شهر أغسطس مساء اليوم الأربعاء 5 من شهر المحرم 1444هـ، الموافق 3 أغسطس 2022م، علما بأن البعد الزاوي بينهما سيكون 4.6 درجة قوسية تقريبا، ويمكن لسكان دولة قطر الاستمتاع برصد ورؤية نجم السماك الأعزل والقمر معا بالعين المجردة أعلى الأفق الغربي لسماء دولة قطر من بعد غروب شمس اليوم وحتى قبل موعد غروب السماك الأعزل، علما بأن وقت غروب شمس الأربعاء سيكون عند الساعة 6:18 مساء بتوقيت الدوحة المحلي، بينما سيكون موعد غروب السماك الأعزل عند الساعة 9:52 مساء”.

وتابع بأن في مساء اليوم الأربعاء 4 من شهر صفر 1444هـ، الموافق 31 من أغسطس 2022م، سيقع نجم السماك الأعزل بجوار القمر للمرة الثانية خلال شهر أغسطس، ويمكن لسكان دولة قطر الاستمتاع برصد ورؤية نجم السماك الأعزل والقمر معا بالعين المجردة أعلى الأفق الغربي لسماء دولة قطر من بعد غروب شمس الأربعاء عند الساعة 5:24 مساء بتوقيت الدوحة المحلي وحتى قبل موعد غروب السماك الأعزل عند الساعة 8:02 مساء.

وأضاف الدكتور بشير مرزوق أن أهمية تلك الظواهر تكمن في أنها فرصة جيدة للتأكد من مدى دقة الحسابات الفلكية المستخدمة في حساب مدارات الكواكب والنجوم والقمر حولنا، إضافة إلى إمكانية الاستمتاع برؤية وتصوير القمر ونجم السماك الأعزل معا عند أقرب نقطة، كما تعتبر هذه الظواهر دليلا لهواة الفلك والمهتمين بعلم الفلك للتعرف على ما يشاهدونه من أجرام سماوية في سماء دولة قطر.

ومن الجدير بالذكر أن نجم السماك الأعزل هو ألمع نجوم كوكبة السنبلة (العذراء)، وهو نجم ثنائي من القدر الأول، وهو أحد النجوم التي تقع على دائرة البروج، وهو يبعد عن الأرض مسافة قدرها 250 سنة ضوئية تقريبا.
