DFI Invites Young Film Fans to Ajyal Film Festival 2022

Doha: The Doha Film Institute (DFI) is accepting juror applications for the 2022 Special 10th edition of the Ajyal Film Festival, set to take place from Oct. 1-8, 2022 with events and activities taking place both in-person and online.

The 2022 Special Edition of the Ajyal Film Festival is DFIs tribute to the nation in a historic year, and will provide exclusive Jury access to talks, workshops and Masterclasses in an innovative format that will maximise the accessibility and experience of the jurors and the industry guests.

The 2022 Ajyal Jurors become part of a very special edition, with the Ajyal Film Festival being held with an expanded program of two events one dedicated to the Jurors in October and the second, an inspiring public event from Nov. 22 to Dec. 16 that will also coincide with the worlds most awaited sporting spectacle being hosted in the country, the FIFA World Cup 2022 Qatar.

Youth aged 8-25 are invited to register for the reputed Ajyal Jury Experience that welcomes over 500 jurors annually, to be part of an invaluable cultural experience and explore the exciting world of cinema through curated film screenings, workshops and discussions. In a fun and collaborative environment, Ajyal Jury in three age specific groups are empowered to find their creative voice and discover cinema not just from the perspective of entertainment but as a medium that can bring about positive social change.

Chief Executive Officer of the Doha Film Institute Fatma Hassan Alremaihi said that Ajyal Jury Experience is truly a one of a kind cultural initiative, that brings together young people from across the world for a week-long celebration of film that will not only enhance their understanding of the world but also help build their inter-personal and professional skills.

She noted that Ajyal, over the years, has given the youth an opportunity to explore new horizons of creative and cultural understanding, and we take great pride in our global Ajyal community and its collective belief that art and film are here to comfort and inspire each of us.

Alremaihi added that this year, as we mark a Special 10th edition to coincide with the extraordinary global event that Qatar is hosting, we look forward to welcoming our vibrant team of over 500 Ajyal Jurors to come together across physical and cultural divides, instilling a sense of empowerment to build a brighter future and bringing us closer together as a global community.

Registration to the Ajyal Jury program is now open until Sept. 21, 2022 at https://www.dohafilminstitute.com/filmfestival/ajyaljury.

Participants must be between the ages of 8 and 25 to enroll. Applicants can benefit from an early bird discounted fee of QAR 150 for registrations completed before September 1, 2022. The standard fee is QAR 250 with discounted fees for siblings and Qatar Museums Culture Pass Members costing QAR 200.

Ajyal Jurors are categorized in three competition segments Mohaq (ages 8-12), Hilal (ages 13-17) and Bader (ages 18-25). They will evaluate a curated film programme covering feature films and short films appropriate to their age. Being an Ajyal Juror is a highly creative learning experience that instils an appreciation of cinema as well as the values of teamwork, critical thinking, and leadership.

Last year more than 500 jurors from 45 nationalities served as Ajyal Jurors, who had access to specially curated workshops, daily film screenings, jury discussions, Ajyal Talks and opportunities to interact with global filmmakers in the Spotlight sessions and a range of events and activities that inspire creative interaction and stimulate cinematic dialogue.

الدوحة: أعلنت مؤسسة الدوحة للأفلام عن فتح باب التسجيل للمشاركة في لجان التحكيم الخاصة بالنسخة العاشرة من مهرجان أجيال السينمائي، الذي سيقام في الفترة من 1 إلى 8 أكتوبر 2022، ويضم العديد من الفعاليات والأنشطة الفعلية أو عبر الإنترنت.

وتأتي النسخة الخاصة من المهرجان بمثابة تقدير من مؤسسة الدوحة للأفلام لقطر في العام المميز التي تستضيف فيه بطولة كأس العالم FIFA قطر 2022، وستوفر فرصة المشاركة في الحوارات وورش العمل والندوات التعليمية بنمط مبتكر يساهم في زيادة نسبة المشاركة، وخوض تجربة غنية للحكام الصغار والشباب، وكذلك الضيوف من قطاع السينما.

ويعد برنامج حكام أجيال 2022 جزءا رئيسيا من فعاليات النسخة الخاصة من المهرجان الذي يشمل برنامجا موسعا من قسمين؛ يكرس القسم الأول للحكام في أكتوبر، بينما يضم القسم الثاني فعاليات وعروضا للجمهور، ويمتد من 22 نوفمبر إلى 16 ديسمبر 2022، بالتزامن مع إقامة الحدث الرياضي العالمي المنتظر الذي تستضيفه قطر.

وأوضحت مؤسسة الدوحة للأفلام أنه يمكن للحكام الصغار والشباب من عمر 8 إلى 25 عاما التسجيل للمشاركة في تجربة حكام أجيال، التي ترحب بأكثر من 500 حكم في كل عام؛ بهدف خوض هذه التجربة الثقافية القيمة واستكشاف عالم السينما من خلال عروض الأفلام وورش العمل والجلسات النقاشية المختلفة. وتقسم تجربة حكام أجيال إلى ثلاث فئات عمرية، توفر بيئة مرحة حافلة بالتعاون بهدف تمكينهم من التعبير عن آرائهم الإبداعية، واستكشاف عالم السينما من ناحية ترفيهية، باعتبار السينما وسيلة لتحقيق التغيير الاجتماعي الإيجابي.

وقالت السيدة فاطمة حسن الرميحي، الرئيس التنفيذي لمؤسسة الدوحة للأفلام في تصريح، اليوم: إن تجربة حكام أجيال مبادرة ثقافية فريدة من نوعها تجمع الشباب والصغار من مختلف أرجاء العالم على مدار أسبوع كامل، للاحتفال بالأفلام التي تعزز فهمهم للعالم، وتساعدهم على بناء مهاراتهم الشخصية والمهنية.

ونوهت بأنه على مدار الأعوام الماضية، منح المهرجان الشباب فرصة لاستكشاف آفاق جديدة من العمل الإبداعي والثقافي، معربة عن فخر المؤسسة بمجتمع أجيال العالمي، وبإيمانه الراسخ بأن الفن والسينما يهدفان إلى الترفيه وكذلك إلهام الجميع.

وأضافت الرميحي: “في هذا العام، نحتفل بالنسخة العاشرة الخاصة بالتزامن مع الحدث العالمي الاستثنائي الذي تستضيفه قطر، ونتطلع إلى الترحيب بأكثر من 500 حكم يجتمعون معا في أنشطة ثقافية، تغرس في نفوسهم الشعور بالتمكين والقوة لبناء مستقبل أكثر إشراقا، وتجمعهم معا ضمن إطار مجتمع عالمي متضامن”.

ووضعت مؤسسة الدوحة للأفلام رابطا إلكترونيا للتسجيل في برنامج حكام أجيال، والذي سيكون متاحا ابتداء من اليوم وإلى 21 سبتمبر المقبل وهو: https://www.dohafilminstitute.com/filmfestival/ajyaljury ووضعت المؤسسة عددا من الشروط للتسجيل، من بينها أن تراوح أعمار المشاركين بين 8 و25 عاما، ويمكن للمتقدمين الاستفادة من عروض التسجيل المبكر حتى 1 سبتمبر 2022 مقابل 150 ريالا قطريا، بينما تبلغ الرسوم الاعتيادية 250 ريالا قطريا، مع تقديم خصم خاص للإخوة وأعضاء التصريح الثقافي /بطاقتك إلى الثقافة/ لمتاحف قطر مقابل 200 ريال قطري.

وتقسم لجان التحكيم في مهرجان أجيال السينمائي إلى ثلاثة أقسام، هي: /محاق/ للحكام الصغار من عمر 8 إلى 12 عاما، و/هلال/ للحكام من عمر 13 إلى 17 عاما، و/بدر/ للحكام من 18 إلى 21 عاما. وتمنح تجربة حكام أجيال فرصة قيمة للمشاركين لمشاهدة برنامج من الأفلام القصيرة والطويلة الملائمة لكل فئة عمرية، وخوض تجربة تعليمية إبداعية تغرس في نفوسهم حب وتقدير السينما وقيم العمل الجماعي والتفكير النقدي والقيادة.

جدير بالذكر، أنه شارك في النسخة الماضية من أجيال أكثر من 500 حكم من 45 جنسية حظوا بفرصة المشاركة في ورش عمل خاصة، ومشاهدة عروض أفلام يومية وجلسات نقاشية، وجلسات أجيال الحوارية، بالإضافة إلى التواصل مع صناع الأفلام العالميين، إلى جانب مجموعة من الأنشطة والفعاليات التي تلهم التفاعل الإبداعي وتحفز الحوار السينمائي.
