DOHA: Building on a successful launch, Discover Qatar announces the extension of the Whale Sharks of Qatar tour which offers guests an awe-inspiring experience while travelling in luxury and comfort.
Since the first sailing on June 3, 2022, Discover Qatar has carried over 250 passengers on the ‘Whale Sharks of Qatar – Daily Explorer’ and continues to provide guests the chance to embark on a unique journey to observe one of the largest congregations of the world’s largest living fish – the Whale Shark.
Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive and Chairman of Qatar Tourism, H E Akbar Al Baker, said: “We are delighted to announce the extension of this tour after much success during the last two months. This tour offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our guests to connect with nature in Qatar through this unparalleled experience. We look forward to welcoming more guests before the end of the season.”
This true natural wonder only occurs between the summer months of April through September. During their annual migration to the region, Whale Sharks are found feeding in groups of hundreds off the northern coast of Qatar in the Arabian Gulf.
Guests will now have the opportunity to experience this phenomenon on the Daily Explorer with tours being extended to every Friday and Saturday until the end of August starting from QR1,800 per adult and QR1,350 per child.
Whale Sharks, often referred to as ‘gentle giants’, are estimated to have existed for 60 million years. They can live up to 100 years and grow up to 12 metres in length.
Discover Qatar offers guests the option of sightings from a luxurious ‘Private Charter’ yacht or a ‘Daily Explorer’ tour on a high-speed catamaran. Both options include breakfast and lunch, a Whale Sharks expert guide, and Wi-Fi on the vessels. Both tours are available to book on the Discover Qatar website until August 27, 2022.

الدوحة: أعلنت اكتشف قطر عن تمديد رحلات اكتشف أسماك القرش الحوتي في قطر والتي تتيح للضيوف الاستمتاع بتجربة بحرية مذهلة مريحة وفاخرة. ويأتي تمديد هذه الرحلات بعد النجاح الكبير الذي حققته بعد إطلاقها أول مرة في 3 يونيو الماضي، حيث نظمت اكتشف قطر هذه الرحلات لأكثر من 250 راكبا على متن جولة في “دايلي إكسبلورير” لاكتشاف أسماك القرش الحوتي في قطر وتستمر هذه الرحلات في إتاحة الفرصة للضيوف لخوض مغامرة فريدة لمشاهدة أحد أكبر تجمعات القرش الحوتي.
وقال سعادة السيد أكبر الباكر الرئيس التنفيذي لمجموعة الخطوط القطرية ورئيس قطر للسياحة: نحن سعداء بالإعلان عن تمديد هذه الرحلات نتيجة الإقبال والنجاح الكبير الذي حققته خلال الشهرين الماضيين. حيث توفر هذه الرحلات فرصة لا تتكرر لضيوفنا للتعرف على الطبيعة البحرية لدولة قطر من خلال هذه التجربة الفريدة كما نتطلع إلى الترحيب بالمزيد من الضيوف قبل نهاية الموسم”.
تزور أسماك القرش الحوتي مياه الخليج العربي في أشهر الصيف من أبريل إلى سبتمبر خلال موسم هجرتها السنوية إلى المنطقة حيث تتغذى في مياه الخليج العربي ضمن مجموعات تضم المئات من الأسماك وذلك قبالة الساحل الشمالي لدولة قطر، وتتيح هذه الرحلات الفرصة للضيوف عيش هذه الظاهرة على متن جولات “Daily Explorer” بعد تمديدها في أيام الجمعة والسبت حتى نهاية شهر أغسطس ابتداء من 1800 ريال للبالغين و1350 ريالا للأطفال.
وتشير التقديرات إلى أن أسماك القرش الحوتي، التي يشار إليها باسم “العملاقة اللطيفة”، موجودة منذ 60 مليون عام وتتمتع هذه الأسماك بالقدرة على العيش لمدة تصل إلى 100 عام، والاستمرار بالنمو ليصل طولها إلى 12 متراً. وتقدم اكتشف قطر للضيوف خيار جولة “Private Charter” التي تنطلق على متن يخت فاخر، أو جولة “Daily Explorer” على متن زورق سريع ويتضمن كلا الخيارين وجبتي الإفطار والغداء بالإضافة إلى مرشد خبير بالقرش الحوتي واتصال لاسلكي بالإنترنت، ويمكن حجز الرحلات على موقع اكتشف قطر حتى 27 أغسطس المقبل.
