4 reasons for visa refusal: US Embassy in Qatar

Doha: Many people of all ages are seeking a visa to enter the United States, for various purposes, including tourism, study, or otherwise, as the U.S. Immigration and Nationality Act (INA), enacted in 1952, specified the types of visas available to travel to the United States, and the conditions to be met before issuing a particular visa to the applicant.

According to the “Ask the Consul” service provided by Al-Sharq in cooperation with The United States Embassy in Qatar The US Embassy in Doha clarified that the vast majority of visa applications are approved (if the conditions are met), but it cautioned that US law sets many criteria by which a visa application can be refused, which are:

• The consular officer does not have all the information required to determine if an applicant qualifies for a visa.
• The applicant is not eligible for the visa category he is applying for.
• The information reviewed indicates that the applicant falls within the scope of one of the reasons for inadmissibility or ineligibility at law.
• The applicant’s current and/or past actions, such as drug or criminal activities, for example, may render the applicant ineligible for a visa.
• It indicated that the rejected applicant cannot recover the fee because it is an application processing fee and is non-refundable, but it is possible to re-apply in the future as many times as you like -if you re-apply for a visa and pay the visa application fee again-.

وأوضحت السفارة الأمريكية في الدوحة أنه تتم الموافقة على الغالبية العظمى من طلبات التأشيرة (في حال استيفاء الشروط)، إلا أنها نبّهت أن القانون الأمريكي حدد العديد من المعايير التي بموجبها يمكن رفض طلب التأشيرة، بحسب “خدمة “اسأل القنصل” التي توفرها الشرق بالتعاون مع سفارة الولايات المتحدة في قطر، وهي:

– ليس لدى المسؤول القنصلي جميع المعلومات المطلوبة لتحديد ما إذا كان مقدم الطلب مؤهلًا للحصول على تأشيرة

– لأن مقدم الطلب غير مؤهل لفئة التأشيرة التي تقدم للحصول عليها

– المعلومات التي تم مراجعتها تشير إلى أن مقدم الطلب يقع ضمن نطاق أحد أسباب عدم القبول أو عدم الأهلية في القانون.

– قد تؤدي الإجراءات الحالية و / أو السابقة لمقدم الطلب، مثل المخدرات أو الأنشطة الإجرامية، على سبيل المثال، إلى جعل مقدم الطلب غير مؤهل للحصول على تأشيرة

وبيّنت أنه لا يمكن لمقدم الطلب المرفوض استعادة الرسوم لأنها رسوم معالجة الطلب وغير قابلة للاسترداد، إلا أنه يمكن إعادة التقدم في المستقبل عدة مرات كما تريد، إذا قمت بإعادة تقديم طلب للحصول على تأشيرة، ودفع رسوم طلب التأشيرة مرة أخرى.
