QM invites the public to participate in the Student Initiative

Doha: Qatar Museums invited graduates and students to submit a proposal for a permanent or temporary artwork, through the Student Initiative, during which entries are received until August 5.
This year’s initiative encourages students and alumni to think about the context they wish their work would shine. The selected artist will be commissioned to produce his/her proposal with the support of the Public Art team.
Students’ and graduates’ proposal is taken into account when it matches the minimum list of conditions, within one of the selection criteria, which allow students to apply as individuals or as a team, which also includes the manufacture and construction of the proposed artwork locally, and that the proposed works include statues, installations, and mosaic tiles, and multimedia.
The initiative stipulated that the participating artists be 18 years old, or have graduated within the past two years, with sufficient qualifications to implement the proposed project, while allowing them to have a supportive mentor.

الدوحة: دعت متاحف قطر الخريجين والطلاب إلى تقديم مقترح عمل فني دائم أو مؤقت، وذلك من خلال مبادرة الطلاب، والتي يتم استقبال المشاركات خلالها حتى 5 أغسطس.
وتشجع مبادرة هذا العام الطلاب والخريجين للتفكير بالحوار الذي يرغبون بأن يلمع من خلال عملهم. وسيتم تكليف الفنان الذي تم اختياره بإنتاج مقترحه بدعم من فريق الفن العام.
ويتم أخذ مقترح الطلاب والخريجين بعين الاعتبار عند مطابقة المقترح الحد الأدنى لقائمة الشروط، وذلك ضمن أحد معايير الاختيار، التي تسمح للطلاب بالتقديم كأفراد أو كفريق، والتي تشمل أيضاً تصنيع وبناء العمل الفني المُقترح محلياً، وأن تشمل الأعمال المقترحة التماثيل، والتركيبات الفنية، وبلاطات الفسيفساء، والوسائط الفنية المتعددة.
واشترطت المبادرة أن يكون عمر الفنانين المشاركين 18 عاما، أو أن يكونوا قد تخرجوا خلال العامين الماضيين، مع امتلاك المؤهلات الكافية لتنفيذ المشروع المقترح، مع السماح بأن يكون لديهم مرشد للدعم.
