Abstract Paintings and Philippines Corner Kicked off in Katara

Doha: The Cultural Village Foundation – Katara witnessed yesterday evening the opening of the abstract art paintings exhibition for the Spanish artist Pilar De Alvaro in Building 19, Hall 1, in addition to the inauguration of the Philippine Corner in front of the amphitheater.

Excellencies ambassadors and representatives of diplomatic missions took part in the event.
The exhibition contains 24 paintings expressing a number of topics such as music, sports, and several human emotions.
Pilar De Alvaro said in a statement to QNA: “I focused in this exhibition on colors and geometric shapes inspired by Arabian art.” Pointing out to the fact that she painted a painting on the honor of State of Qatars hosting of the finales of the FIFA World Cup 2022, with the torch tower and the colors of the Qatari flag featuring in the painting.
As for Pablo Picassos influence on her artwork, the Spanish Artist clarified in the affirmative that whilst it is true that such an influence exists, however her work is not identical to his, as she has her own style and colors.
The artworks of De Alvaro carried the following titles: Music Inspirations, Leadership, Sensitivity, Hanging Houses, The Accident, After the Storm, World Cup, Olympic Games, Observation, and The Sun Set.
It is worth mentioning that De Alvaro is a contemporary Spanish Artist who participated in several exhibitions in Madrid, Brussels, and The Chelsea Arts District in New York City.
On the other hand, as part of the Cultural Village Foundation – Kataras objective to attract artists from all over the world to display their artworks in different corners of Katara, in order to enrich society and raise awareness of the diverse heritage and cultures of world countries, Katara inaugurated the “Philippines Corner” in the presence of the General Manager of Katara, and HE Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines to Qatar Alan L. Timbayan.
The corner included the “Kulintang” an indigenous musical instrument from the southern Philippines, specifically from the island of Mindanao. The instrument is composed of a group of brass cylinders arranged horizontally on a shelf that is played by striking their heads repeatedly with wooden bats to create intricate rhythmic patterns. The piece is an artwork by Frederick Epistola.

الدوحة: شهدت المؤسسة العامة للحي الثقافي /كتارا/، مساء الأمس، افتتاح معرض /التجريديات/ للفنانة الإسبانية بيلار دي ألفارو بالمبنى 19 القاعة رقم 1، وتدشين /ركن الفلبين/ أمام المسرح المكشوف.
حضر افتتاح معرض الفنانة دي ألفارو، الدكتور خالد بن إبراهيم السليطي المدير العام للمؤسسة العامة للحي الثقافي /كتارا/، وسعادة السيدة بيلين ألفارو هيرنانديز سفيرة مملكة إسبانيا لدى الدولة، وعدد من أصحاب السعادة السفراء وممثلي البعثات الدبلوماسية.
يضم المعرض 24 لوحة عبرت عن عدد من الموضوعات من موسيقى ورياضة ومشاعر إنسانية عديدة.
وقالت الفنانة بيلار دي ألفارو، في تصريح لوكالة الأنباء القطرية /قنا/ على هامش الافتتاح: “في معرضي هذا، ركزت على الألوان بشكل كبير مع تشكيلات هندسية مختلفة من وحي الفن العربي”، مشيرة إلى أنها رسمت لوحة على شرف استضافة دولة قطر لنهائيات بطولة كأس العالم FIFA قطر 2022، وضمنتها ألوان علم دولة قطر، وبرج الشعلة.
وعن تأثرها بالفنان العالمي بابلو بيكاسو في أعمالها، أشارت الفنانة الإسبانية، إلى أن هناك أثرا من /التكعيبية/ في أعمالها الفنية، لكن ليس لدرجة التماهي، وإنما لها ألوانها وأسلوبها الخاص.
وحملت لوحات دي ألفارو عددا من العناوين من بينها: إلهام من الموسيقى، القيادة، الحساسية، منازل معلقة، الحادث، بعد العاصفة، كأس العالم، الألعاب الأولمبية، المراقبة، وغروب الشمس.
جدير بالذكر، أن بيلا دي ألفارو فنانة إسبانية معاصرة قدمت العديد من المعارض في مدريد وبروكسل وفي تشيلسي، الحي الفني في مدينة نيويورك.
من جهة أخرى، وفي إطار مشروع المؤسسة العامة للحي الثقافي /كتارا/ الفني الذي يهدف إلى جذب الفنانين من جميع أنحاء العالم لعرض أعمالهم الفنية في زوايا مختلفة في كتارا بهدف التعرف على تراث الدول وثقافتها المتنوعة، دشنت كتارا، /ركن الفلبين/، بحضور مدير عام /كتارا/، وسعادة السيد ألان آل تيمبايان سفير جمهورية الفلبين لدى الدولة.
وضم الركن آلة “الكولينتانغ”، وتُعرف هذه القطعة بأنها آلة موسيقية أصيلة من جنوب الفلبين وتحديدا من جزيرة مينداناو، وهي عبارة عن مجموعة من الأسطوانات النحاسية منظمة أفقيا على رف يتم العزف عليها عن طريق ضرب رؤوسها بشكل متكرر بمضارب خشبية لإنشاء أنماط إيقاعية معقدة.. والقطعة عمل فني للفنان فريدريك ايبستولا.
جدير الذكر أن الحي الثقافي كتارا يضم عددا من القطع الفنية في أماكن مختلفة، والتي تندرج ضمن مشروع ثقافي متكامل بدأ في العام 2019 بتدشين الركن التركي، وشاركت سفارات عدد من الدول في هذا المشروع مقدمة قطعا فنية ذات بعد حضاري لزوار الحي الثقافي، والتي تعمل على التعريف بثقافتها للتقريب بين الشعوب ومد جسور التواصل فيما بينها، ومن هذه السفارات، السلفادور، مولدوفا، أذربيجان، كوبا، جورجيا، المكسيك، بالإضافة إلى الفلبين.
