Ashghal: Umm Al-Seneem Park opens soon

Doha: Al-Raya learned that Umm Al-Seneem Park, implemented by the Buildings Projects Department of the Public Works Authority “Ashghal” in coordination with the Ministry of Municipality, will be opened during the third quarter of this year.
The park overlooks Wadi Al-Saidiya Street in the Umm Al-Seneem area and is located in an area of about 130,105 square meters, as it includes many facilities that serve about 3000 visitors of all ages per day. The green area is planned to cover about 88,400 square meters, 780 trees of different types are planted, pedestrian and bicycle paths will be built along 1,135 square meters, and 247 car parking spaces are provided.
The park also includes two children’s play areas, where the new designs will enhance the physical and mental health of children by providing games for different ages from 2-5 years, and 6-12 years, taking into account children with disabilities, in order to promote children’s development and provide the desired luxury.
In order to encourage exercise and promote physical activity, sports equipment will be provided in three different areas for both genders, taking into account women’s privacy in outdoor activities within the park, implementing pedestrian and bicycle paths suitable for all ages, to be used throughout the year, while children with disabilities have been also considered.
Umm Al-Seneem Park has been designed to provide social, environmental, recreational, and sports benefits to the surrounding communities. On the other hand, the park is designed to be another attraction for visitors in this area.
Due to its large area and the modern facilities that will be established inside it, especially the vast green areas and the plantation of hundreds of trees that reflect the Qatari environment, the green space percentage will reach 68% of the total area of the park.
The park provides environmental benefits, taking into account the quality of second-class green buildings to preserve the environment, as well as planting trees from the Qatari environment such as wild Ghaf, Samar, and Sidr. It will also provide shade and contribute to reducing wind, dust, heat, air pollution, and noise in urban areas. There are important economic benefits to the park, as there are large yards that can be used for local businesses and community services, where kiosks and markets will be established to sell products to the visitors of these parks.

الدوحة: علمت الراية أنَّه سيتمُ افتتاح حديقة أم السنيم التي تنفذها إدارةُ مشروعات المباني بهيئة الأشغال العامة « أشغال» بالتنسيق مع وزارة البلديَّة خلال الربع الثالث من العام الجاري.
وتطلّ الحديقةُ على شارع وادي السدية بمنطقة أم السنيم، وتقع على مساحة نحو 130.105 أمتار مربعة، حيث تتضمن العديد من المرافق التي تخدم نحو 3000 زائر يوميًا من جميع الأعمار، ومن المُخطط أن تبلغ مساحة المنطقة الخضراء نحو 88.400 متر مربع وزراعة 780 شجرة من أنواع مختلفة، وبناء مسارات للمشاة والدراجات الهوائيّة بطول 1.135 مترًا مربعًا، إلى جانب توفير 247 موقفًا للسيّارات.
كما تتضمن الحديقةُ منطقتَين لألعاب الأطفال، حيث ستعملُ التصاميمُ الجديدةُ على تعزيز الصحّة البدنيّة والعقليّة للأطفال بتوفير ألعاب لمُختلف الأعمار 2-5 سنوات، و6-12 سنة، مع الأخذ بعين الاعتبار الأطفال ذوي الإعاقة، وذلك لتعزيز نموّ الأطفال وتوفير الرفاهية المطلوبة.
ومن أجل تشجيع مُمارسة الرياضة وتعزيز النشاط البدني، سيتمُّ توفير أجهزة رياضية في ثلاث مناطق مختلفة لكلا الجنسَين، مع وجود خصوصية للنساء في ممارسة الرياضة الخارجية داخل الحديقة، وإنشاء مسارات للمشاة والدراجات الهوائيّة مُلائمة لجميع الأعمار، حيث تُساعد زوّار الحدائق على استخدامها طوال السنة، كما رُوعي في الوقت ذاته الأطفال ذوو الإعاقة.
وقد تمَّ تصميم منتزه أم السنيم بحيث يشمل توفير مزايا اجتماعية وبيئية وترفيهية ورياضية للمُجتمعات المُحيطة، ومن ناحية أخرى، يراعي التصميم أن تكون نقطة جذب أخرى للزوّار في هذه المنطقة؛ نظرًا لكبر مساحة تلك الحديقة والمرافق الحديثة التي سيتمّ إنشاؤُها داخلها، خصوصًا أنه ستتم زراعة مساحات شاسعة من المسطحات الخضراء ومئات الأشجار التي تعكس البيئة القطرية، بحيث تصل نسبة المساحة الخضراء 68% من إجمالي مساحة الحديقة.
وتوفر الحديقة فوائد بيئية، حيث أُخذت في الاعتبار جودة المباني الخضراء من الدرجة الثانية للحفاظ على البيئة، فضلًا عن زراعة أشجار من البيئة القطرية مثل الغاف البري، والسمر، والسدر، كما ستعمل على توفير الظلّ والمُساهمة في الحدّ من الرياح والغبار والحرارة وتلوّث الهواء والضوضاء في المناطق الحضرية. وثمة فوائد اقتصادية مهمة للحديقة، حيث توجد ساحات كبيرة يمكن استخدامُها للشركات المحلية والخدمات المُجتمعية، حيث سيتم إنشاء أكشاك وأسواق لبيع المنتجات لروّاد تلك الحدائق.
