Quranic Botanical Garden Organizes Series of Ramadan Programs, Events

Doha: The Quranic Botanical Garden (QBG), a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, launched a variety of programs and events during the holy month of Ramadan as part of its contributions to raising and promoting awareness of various environmental fields, enriching the Islamic heritage in the field of plants and preserving the environment and nature.

Among these activities are the Botanical Museum, the daily Ramadan competition through its accounts on social media, and QBG’s participation in the first edition of the Ramadan Book Fair in Souq Waqif, as well as creating a Ramadan atmosphere at QBG.

Director of the Quranic Botanical Garden Fatima Al Khulaifi confirmed GBG’s keenness every year to organize a number of Ramadan activities and to participate in various activities with the aim of spreading awareness, as part of an integrated package of educational and community programs that it offers throughout the year, based on a conscious future vision in line with the horizons of the lofty Islamic goals in preserving plants as the basis of life on Earth.

She explained that these events call for reflection and contemplation by introducing the public to the types of plants and botanical terms, highlighting the principles of Islamic Sharia aimed at preserving plant diversity and the importance of preserving plant resources, and how to preserve natural and environmental resources, for the sake of current and future generations. She pointed to the QBG’s organization of the Botanical Museum, which collects a number of heritage pieces derived from the Islamic heritage and displays them to the public in conjunction with the blessed month of Ramadan, out of the QBG’s interest in preserving these heritage pieces, so that members of the community can learn about this heritage.

The Botanical Museum aims to shed light on one aspect of social life during the era of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), and his companions, including the tableware that was used at that time in cooking and eating and drinking. The museum also displays some of the tools, plants and fruits mentioned in the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet.

In turn, Researcher at QBG Ahmed El Gharib explained that QBG organizes a daily Ramadan competition on jurisprudential rulings related to plants, as well as foods, drinks and the surrounding tools that were used during the era of the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him). The questions are published daily through QBG’s accounts on social networking sites, indicating that the competition aims to spread the culture related to plants, the environment, religious terms related to them, and their jurisprudence rulings.

He said that QBG is also participating in the first edition of the Ramadan Book Fair by distributing a number of books specialized in botany and related research free of charge to those interested in the field.

The QBG presents a new concept in the world of botanical gardens, as it contains the plants mentioned in the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet, and aims to enhance and disseminate knowledge of these plants and associated terms and principles of conservation and preservation.

ومن ضمن هذه الفعاليات المتحف النباتي، والمسابقة الرمضانية اليومية عبر حساباتها في مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي، ومشاركة الحديقة في النسخة الأولى من معرض رمضان للكتاب بسوق واقف، فضلًا عن إضفاء الأجواء الرمضانية في الحديقة.

وفي هذا الصدد أكدت السيدة فاطمة الخليفي مديرة حديقة القرآن النباتية، حرص الحديقة كل عام على تنظيم عدد من الفعاليات الرمضانية، والمشاركة بفعاليات متنوعة، بهدف نشر الوعي، وذلك ضمن حزمة متكاملة من البرامج التعليمية والمجتمعية التي تقدمها على مدار العام انطلاقًا من رؤية مستقبلية واعية تتماشى مع آفاق المقاصد الإسلامية السامية في الحفاظ على النباتات باعتبارها قوام الحياة على الأرض.

وأوضحت أن هذه الفعاليات تدعو إلى التفكير والتأمل والتدبر، من خلال تعريف الجمهور بأنواع النباتات والمصطلحات النباتية، وإبراز مبادئ الشريعة الإسلامية السمحة الرامية لصون التنوع النباتي، وتسليط الضوء على أهمية صون الموارد النباتية، وكيفية المحافظة على المصادر الطبيعية والبيئية، من أجل الأجيال الحالية والمستقبلية، لافتة إلى تنظيم الحديقة للمتحف النباتي الذي يجمع عددًا من القطع التراثية المستمدة من التراث الإسلامي، ويعرضها للجمهور تزامنًا مع شهر رمضان المبارك، وذلك من منطلق اهتمام الحديقة بصون هذه القطع التراثية، بحيث يتسنى لأفراد المجتمع التعرف على هذا الإرث.

ويهدف المتحف النباتي إلى تسليط الضوء على أحد جوانب الحياة الاجتماعية في عهد الرسول صلى الله عليه وسلم، وصحابته رضوان الله عليهم، ومن ضمنها أدوات المائدة التي كانت تستخدم آنذاك في الطبخ وفي تناول الطعام والشراب، كما يعرض المتحف بعض الأدوات والزروع والثمار المذكورة في القرآن الكريم والسنة النبوية.

بدوره، أوضح السيد أحمد الغريب باحث في حديقة القرآن النباتية، أن الحديقة تنظم مسابقة رمضانية يومية حول الأحكام الفقهية المتصلة بالنبات، وكذلك الأطعمة والأشربة وما حولها من أدوات كانت تستخدم في عهد الرسول الكريم صلى الله عليه وسلم، وتنشر الأسئلة يوميًا عبر حسابات الحديقة على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي المختلفة، مبينًا أن المسابقة تهدف لنشر الثقافة المتعلقة بالنباتات، والبيئة، والمصطلحات الدينية المتعلقة بهما، وأحكامهما الفقهية.

وقال: “إن حديقة القرآن النباتية تشارك كذلك في النسخة الأولى من معرض رمضان للكتاب، من خلال توزيع عدد من الكتب المتخصصة في علم النباتات والأبحاث المتعلقة بها مجانًا على المهتمين بهذا المجال، وكذلك تتزين الحديقة بإضاءة ليلية خاصة، تعزز من الأجواء الرمضانية وتضفي شكلًا جماليًا مميزًا للمكان”.

وتقدم حديقة القرآن النباتية مفهومًا جديدًا في عالم الحدائق النباتية، فهي تحتوي على النباتات التي ورد ذكرها في القرآن الكريم وصحيح السنة النبوية، وتهدف إلى تعزيز ونشر المعرفة بهذه النباتات والمصطلحات المرتبطة بها ومبادئ صيانتها والحفاظ عليها.
