Qatari spending on International tourism exceeds $10 billion in 2021

Doha: The value of Qatari spending on tourism abroad last year amounted to 36.533 billion QR, about 10.09 billion USD, compared to 24.541 billion QR about 6.78 billion USD in 2020. According to data from Qatar Central Bank.
Qatari spending on foreign tourism in 2021 was distributed between 10.814 billion QR in the first quarter, 10.841 billion QR in the second quarter, 8.129 billion QR in the third quarter, and finally 6.749 billion QR in the fourth quarter.
The increase in spending is due to the acceleration of vaccinations against the Coronavirus at the global level as of the end of 2020, the adoption of more than one vaccine by the World Health Organization, as well as the return of airlines to expand and resume their network.
This comes as well with the opening of tourist destinations and the elimination of coronavirus restrictions worldwide, compared to 2020, which saw a global outbreak of the virus.
Regarding tourism revenues in Qatar, it amounted during 2021 to about 15.519 billion QR, a growth of 19.66% over its level in the previous year, which amounted to 12.969 billion QR.

ووزع إنفاق القطريين على السياحة الخارجية في 2021 بين 10.814 مليار ريال في الربع الأول، و10.841 مليار ريال في الربع الثاني، إلى جانب 8.129 مليار ريال بالربع الثالث، وأخيراً 6.749 مليار ريال في الربع الرابع.
ويعود ارتفاع الإنفاق إلى تسارع وتيرة التطعيمات ضد فيروس كورونا على المستوى العالمي اعتباراً من نهاية 2020، واعتماد منظمة الصحة العالمية أكثر من لقاح للفيروس، فضلا عن عودة خطوط الطيران لتوسيع واستئناف شبكتها.
ويأتي ذلك فضلاً عن افتتاح الأماكن السياحية، وإلغاء قيود “كورونا” على مستوى العالم، مقارنة بعام 2020 الذي شهد تفشي الفيروس عالمياً.
وبشأن إيرادات السياحة في قطر فقد بلغت خلال 2021 نحو 15.519 مليار ريال، بنمو 19.66% عن مستواها في العام السابق له البالغ 12.969 مليار ريال.
