Close the windows .. Northwesterly wind to cause blowing dust
أغلقوا النوافذ .. الرياح الشمالية الغربية ستسبب موجة غبار
Doha: Northwesterly wind is expected to start blowing from today, Wednesday, May 26 which will cause blowing dust in open areas.
This was tweeted by the Qatar Meteorology Department adding that the wind speed is expected to range between 12-22KT to 28 KT in some areas and this will continue until next Friday, May 28.
The department also issued a marine warning of strong wind and high waves until May 29 during which the wave height is expected to range between 5-8ft rising to 10ft at places at times.
Meanwhile, in its weather report for the day it mentioned that until 6pm it will be very hot at places, while offshore will be hazy to misty at places at first.
The southeasterly wind will be light to moderate in speed with the visibility ranging from 4 to 9 kilometres.
The weather department also noted that starting May end the AlBawarih wind will start and continue until the middle of July. It refers to the northwesterly fresh to strong wind that results from Indian monsoon along with the presence of high-pressure system over northern Arabian Peninsula.
The most important characteristic of this wind is that it weakens at night and gain strength at sunrise causing blowing dust and poor visibility with low relative humidity and high sea waves.
الدوحة: نشرت دائرة الأرصاد الجوية في قطر تغريدة على تويتر، بأنه من المتوقع أن يبدأ هبوب الرياح الشمالية الغربية اعتباراً من اليوم الأربعاء 26 مايو مما يؤدي إلى موجة غبار في المناطق المفتوحة.
مضيفة أن سرعة الرياح من المتوقع أن تتراوح بين 12 و 22 عقدة إلى 28 عقدة في بعض المناطق، وسيستمر ذلك حتى يوم الجمعة المقبل 28 مايو.
كما أصدرت الدائرة تحذيراً بحرياً من رياح قوية وأمواج عالية حتى 29 مايو حيث من المتوقع أن يتراوح ارتفاع الموج بين 5 و 8 أقدام و 10 أقدام في بعض الأماكن في بعض الأحيان.
وفي الوقت نفسه ، ذكرت في تقريرها عن الطقس لليوم أنه حتى الساعة 6 مساءً سيكون الجو حاراً جداً في بعض الأماكن ، بينما سيكون الجو في الخارج ضبابياً في بعض الأماكن في البداية.
وتكون الرياح جنوبية شرقية خفيفة الى معتدلة السرعة ويتراوح مدى الرؤية من 4 الى 9 كيلومترات.
كما أشارت دائرة الأرصاد الجوية إلى أن رياح البوارح تبدأ في نهاية شهر مايو وتستمر حتى منتصف شهر يوليو. وتشير إلى الرياح الشمالية الغربية النقية إلى القوية الناتجة عن الرياح الموسمية الهندية جنباً إلى جنب مع وجود نظام الضغط العالي فوق شمال شبه الجزيرة العربية.
وأهم ما يميز هذه الرياح أنها تضعف ليلاً وتكتسب قوة عند شروق الشمس مما يتسبب في نفخ الغبار وضعف الرؤية مع انخفاض الرطوبة النسبية وارتفاع أمواج البحر.
