Municipality warns against throwing face masks in the streets
البلدية تحذر من إلقاء الكمامات بالشوارع

The Ministry of Municipality and Environment asked consumers to safely dispose of used gloves and face masks after they finish shopping, by throwing them in the trash can at the gate of the mall in order to preserve the health and safety of all.
The ministry indicated that the scene of the dumping of face masks and gloves has recently spread in various streets of the country and the face mask has shifted from a means of protection to a source of infection in the absence of proper disposal and highlighted the lack of awareness of the dangers of random dumping in a large group of society.
The random throwing of face masks and gloves is a new challenge that puts the lives of others at risk, as some people throw face masks and hand gloves as soon as they exit the consumer complexes or other facilities in a way that puts everyone at risk, and it is known that face masks once used become moist with saliva and fluid, and when removed they should be placed immediately in waste containers, showing that the risk of spreading the infection mainly affects people cleaning the streets, if they are not wearing gloves at the time of cleaning.

طالبت وزارة البلدية والبيئة المستهلكين بالتخلص الآمن من القفازات والكمامات المستعملة بعد الانتهاء من التسوق، وذلك برميها في سلة المهملات المخصصة عند بوابة المجمع التجاري وذلك حفاظا على صحة و سلامة الجميع .
وبينت الوزراة أنه انتشر مؤخراً مشهد إلقاء الكمامات والقفازات في مختلف شوارع البلاد و تحولت الكمامة من وسيلة حماية إلى مصدر للعدوى في ظل عدم التخلص منها بشكل صحيح و أبرزت غياب الوعي بمخاطر الإلقاء العشوائي لدى فئة كبيرة من المجتمع.
ويشكل الإلقاء العشوائى للكمامة والقفزات تحديًا جديدًا يعرض حياة الآخرين للخطر, فبعض الناس يلقون الكمامات والقفازات اليدوية فور الخروج من المجمعات الاستهلاكية أو غيرها من المرافق بأسلوب يعرض الجميع للخطر، ومن المعلوم أن أقنعة الوجه بمجرد استخدامها تصبح رطبة باللعاب والسوائل، وعند إزالتها يجب وضعها على الفور في حاويات النفايات، مبينة أن خطر انتشار العدوى ينال بشكل أساسي الأشخاص الذين يقومون بتنظيف الشوارع، إذا لم يكونوا يرتدون قفازات في وقت التنظيف.
