Those who haven’t had Covid yet probably have no friends, a Korean doctor sparks widespread controversy

A South Korean doctor faced a backlash after posting that “people who haven’t yet contracted Covid-19 don’t have friends.”
The vice president of the South Korean Vaccine Association, Ma Sang Hyuk, claimed that “adults who have not yet been infected with “Covid-19” are those who have personal problems”.
Sang quickly deleted his comments after his post drew outrage and violent responses, according to The Independent.
The doctor justified that his Facebook comments were misunderstood and taken out of context.
Hyuk explained, in statements to local Korean newspapers, that he was stressing how difficult it is for anyone to avoid the virus in light of the situation in which high rates of confirmed cases prevail in the region.

وزعم نائب رئيس جمعية اللقاحات الكورية الجنوبية، ما سانغ هيوك، أن البالغين الذين لم يصابوا بعد بـ «كوفيد-19» هم أولئك الذين يعانون من مشاكل شخصية”.
وسرعان ما حذف سانغ تعليقاته بعدما أثار منشوره استهجانًا وردودًا عنيفة، وفقًا لـ “إندبندنت”.
وردّ الطبيب مبررًا تعليقاته المنشورة على “فيسبوك” أنها فُهمت بشكل خاطئ وأنها أقتبست خارج السياق.
وأوضح هيوك في تصريحات لصحف كورية محلية، أنه كان يشدد على مدى صعوبة تجنب أي شخص للفيروس في ظل الحالة التي تسود فيها نسب عالية من الحالات المؤكدة في المنطقة.
