15 severe penalties for violators of the Arabic language aesthetics

Doha: Legal experts have warned against offending the Arabic language, because the law sets a fine of 50,000 QR and punishes every official who fails to advance the Arabic language or contribute to offending or distorting it.

They also clarified that the Law for the Protection of the Arabic Language mandates 15 legal articles regulating the mechanism of dealing with the language, as Article 1 stipulates the obligation of all parties to protect and support the Arabic language in all its activities and events.

Article 2 stipulates the use of Arabic language in all Governmental meetings and discussions and in all its laws, regulations, resolutions, instructions, documents, publications and declarations, and article 4 stipulated that it is the language of talks, negotiations, memoranda and correspondence with other Governments.

حذر خبراء قانونيون من الإساءة للغة العربية، لأنّ القانون حدد عقوبة بالغرامة قدرها 50 ألف ريال وبمعاقبة كل مسؤول يتقاعس عن النهوض باللغة العربية أو يسهم في الإساءة إليها أو تشويهها.

كما أوضحوا أن قانون حماية اللغة العربية اشتمل على 15 مادة قانونية منظمة لآلية التعامل مع اللغة، ونصت المادة 1 على إلزام جميع الجهات بحماية ودعم اللغة العربية في كافة الأنشطة والفعاليات التي تقوم بها، وفي المادة 2 نصت على استعمال اللغة العربية في جميع اجتماعاتها ومناقشاتها وفي جميع ما يصدر عنها من قوانين ولوائح وقرارات وتعليمات ووثائق ومنشورات وإعلانات، كما أنها في المادة 4 هي لغة المحادثات والمفاوضات والمذكرات والمراسلات التي تتم مع الحكومات الأخرى.
