Smart City Expo Doha 2022 to Kick Off March 29

Doha: Under the patronage of HE Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani, the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology will organize the Smart City Expo Doha 2022 on March 29-30 under the title “Sustaining A Future Of Resilience”.

The event will bring together 60 speakers and specialists in the field of smart cities, high-profile local and international keynote speakers, more than 100 exhibitors and 2,500 guests from nearly 20 countries.

The global platform will address a host of issues related to sustainable cities, reshaping digital public services, global economy and digital readiness, and sports events in a connected society.

Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday, Assistant Undersecretary for Digital Society Development Affairs at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Reem Mohammed Al Mansouri, said the speakers participating in the conference will emphasize today’s most pressing challenges of climate change, environmental sustainability and smart urban planning.

She added that the experts will exchange innovative ideas on urban development and discuss how technology can improve the quality of life in cities and contribute in the growth of a knowledge-based economy.

The insights and knowledge that will be shared at Smart City Expo Doha 2022 would contribute to helping build a more technologically smart Qatar and shaping a legacy of bright ideas for future generations, she said.

Nasser Matar Al Kuwari, the Chief Executive of Msheireb Properties which will host the event, underlined that Smart City Expo Doha 2022 comes in line with the vision and mission of Msheireb Properties to change the prevailing pattern of construction and provide smart cities that suit future generations and their requirements.

“We look forward to uniting our efforts with partners to spread the culture and concept of smart and sustainable cities, and to jointly contribute to achieving the goals of the National Vision 2030,” Al Kuwari continued.

HE Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad bin Nasser Al-Thani, Chief Commercial Officer at Ooredoo Qatar, the platinum sponsor of the Smart City Expo Doha 2022, said that digital transformation is an essential pillar in the company’s strategy, which confirms its full commitment to achieving the goals of Qatar National Vision 2030.

He expressed the company’s pride in contributing to the promotion of growth and development in the State of Qatar by participating in the Qatar Smart Program (TASMU).

يناقش المؤتمر جملة من المواضيع التي تتعلق بالمدن المستدامة وإعادة تشكيل الخدمات العامة الرقمية والاقتصاد العالمي، والجاهزية الرقمية والفعاليات الرياضية في مجتمع متصل.

وقالت السيدة ريم محمد المنصوري وكيل الوزارة المساعد لشؤون تنمية المجتمع الرقمي في وزارة الاتصالات وتكنولوجيا المعلومات خلال مؤتمر صحفي اليوم، إن المتحدثين الذين يشاركون في المؤتمر سيشددون على تحديات اليوم الأكثر إلحاحا والمتمثلة في التغير المناخي، والاستدامة البيئية والتخطيط الحضري الذكي، مشيرة الى أن الخبراء المشاركين في هذا الحدث سيتبادلون الأفكار المبتكرة حول التنمية الحضرية ويناقشون الكيفية التي يمكن للتكنولوجيا من خلالها تحسين نوعية الحياة في المدن والمساهمة في نمو الاقتصاد القائم على المعرفة.

وأضافت “سنجد في الرؤى والمعارف التي سيتم مشاركتها في إكسبو الدوحة للمدن الذكية، إمكانية للمساعدة في بناء دولة قطر أكثر ذكاء تكنولوجيا وتشكيل إرث من الأفكار المشرقة للأجيال القادمة.”

من جهته أكد السيد ناصر مطر الكواري الرئيس التنفيذي لمشيرب العقارية التي ستحتضن الفعاليات، على أن مؤتمر اكسبو الدوحة للمدن الذكية 2022 يأتي وفق رؤية ورسالة مشيرب العقارية في تغيير النمط السائد في البناء، وتوفير مدن ذكية تناسب الأجيال القادمة ومتطلباتها، وتابع:” نتطلع إلى توحيد جهودنا مع الشركاء لنشر ثقافة ومفهوم المدن الذكية والمستدامة ولنساهم معا في تحقيق أهداف الرؤية الوطنية 2030″.
