Qatar International Agricultural and Environmental Exhibitions to Kick Off Thursday

Doha: The 9th International Agricultural Exhibition (AgriteQ) and the 3rd International Environmental Exhibition (EnviroteQ), which are organized over five days by the Ministry of Municipality and Environment at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre will open Thursday with the aim of supporting Agricultural development projects, food security, self-sufficiency and environmental protection in Qatar.

The organization of the agricultural and environmental Exhibitions come within the framework of the states plan for food security, including the establishment of international exhibitions, which constitute a forum for farmers, producers, those interested, production companies and consumers, as well as within the framework of the states great interest in the issue of environmental sustainability at a time when the agricultural and environmental sectors are witnessing wide development and great interest from the state, according to multiple successful development plans and strategies.

The Qatar International Agricultural Exhibition is one of the most important comprehensive platforms that allow actors in the agricultural sector at the local and international levels, the opportunity to exchange experiences, explore the latest trends and developments, and win business opportunities in this vital sector, as well as highlighting modern innovations in agricultural technologies and developing roadmap to achieve food security and sustainable development.

The exhibition, across all its sessions, provides an ideal opportunity for agro-industry professionals to explore a wide range of agricultural equipment, technologies and products, and learn about best practices in these areas.

As for the Qatar International Environmental Exhibition, it will support the country’s efforts in the environment and environmental sustainability sector, offer innovative solutions and provide an international platform to exchange local and international experiences in various aspects of environmental sustainability in the State of Qatar, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030, which made environmental development one of its four pillars.

Vice-Chairman of the Organizing Committee, Director of the Agricultural Affairs Department at the Ministry of Municipality Youssef bin Khaled Al Khulaifi stresses to Qatar News Agency (QNA) the importance of the 9th Qatar International Agricultural Exhibition in light of the great successes and percentages achieved by the State of Qatar in terms of agricultural production, both plant and animal, pointing out that the ministry was keen on the participation of 80 local farms concerned with producing vegetables in the agricultural exhibition, in addition to establishing a separate market for local honey in which 25 Qatari farms participate, another for local dates of all kinds and varieties as well as a market for nurseries.

In a related context, Al Khulaifi added that on the sidelines of the events and at the local level, two memoranda of understanding will be signed with Qatar Red Crescent and Qatar Charity, as they are partners of the Ministry of Municipality and Environment, in terms of distributing Qatari dates to needy countries.

“On the sidelines of the conference accompanying the exhibition, we were keen to encourage Qatari youths, and present their scientific research in the field of agriculture and agricultural production during the events, and in this context, a number of these young people who have PhDs in agricultural studies and research will review the projects in which they specialize before the conference, which gained remarkable importance and became a vital and prominent platform for exchanging experiences and knowledge between participants and specialists”, Al Khulaifi said.

With regard to agricultural production and development plans, Qatar has achieved high rates in its efforts related to food security and fresh goods that can be produced locally from plants, vegetables, meat, poultry and dairy, which contributed to covering a large part of the needs of the local market, which, in turn, increased the demand for country product..

For his part, Director of the Food Security Department at the Ministry of Municipality and Environment Dr. Masoud Jarallah Al Marri referred, in a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), on the sidelines of the Forum of the Islamic Organization for Food Security for Strategic Commodities and in table eggs. This percentage is expected to rise to 65 percent by the end of this year, in addition to reaching 100 percent in the production of vegetables in winter, and achieving a production rate of 100 percent in fish and dates, and 21 percent in the field of red meat production, bearing in mind that the targeted percentage is 30 percent, he explained

He added that Qatar’s effective food security strategy, and its success in overcoming many challenges, led it to occupy an advanced position in the international classification of food security and to occupy the first place in the Arab world and twenty-fourth position globally in this field.

Concluding, Al Marri noted that Qatar is keen to achieve more progress in the international food security index, rise to better ranks than the current rank and fulfill more conditions that allow it to achieve further progress in the global food security classification, mainly in reducing food waste, harvest losses and other related matters. He said that the country is able to respond to these matters to improve its international classification in the Food Security Index.

Nearly 50 countries are taking part in the 9th International Agricultural Exhibition (AgriteQ) and the 3rd International Environmental Exhibition (EnviroteQ), which confirms the increasing global interest in these events, in light of vital agricultural projects and promising investment opportunities in the State of Qatar, and the unlimited government support to stimulate agricultural and livestock production, plant life, environmental protection and preservation of its various elements and components. This is evident in the participation of more than 650 local and international bodies concerned with these sectors.

The exhibitions will feature the participation of more than 150 Qatari companies, including 60 agricultural companies, 50 food industries companies, 25 environmental companies, in addition to a number of companies concerned with livestock and veterinary affairs. Moreover, 80 local farms and 50 local products will participate in the farmers market and the honey and dates market, while the nursery market will see the participation of 10 major landscaping companies.

The exhibitions will provide a favorable opportunity for those interested in the agricultural and environmental sectors and decision-makers in the public and private sectors to meet and exchange relevant experiences and knowledge locally and internationally; display products, equipment and technologies; and learn about indicators and developments of the agricultural and environmental sectors in the State of Qatar.

Regarding the 3rd International Environmental Exhibition (EnviroteQ) and its importance, Director of the Public Relations Department at the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Farhoud Al Hajri said that the importance of the exhibition stems from the interest of the State of Qatar in the issue of the environment and climate change, which has become a global affair that draws the utmost care and attention.

In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Al Hajri underlined that organizing this exhibition comes within the framework of supporting the State’s efforts in the field of environment as one of the main pillars of Qatar National Vision 2030.

He added that EnviroteQ serves as an ideal platform that allows those interested to learn about modern technologies related to environmental issues and environmental sustainability, and to display the latest innovations in these vital areas.

Qatar’s international agricultural and environmental exhibitions are taking place amidst a growing boom experienced by the local agricultural sector, and the efforts exerted by the State to protect the environment and its various components from waste and pollution in all its forms. The two exhibitions also represent a platform for exchanging expertise and experiences, and presenting the latest developments and global practices, and the most important challenges and opportunities available in the agriculture and environment sectors.

The Ministry of Transport is participating in the two events with a pavilion that also includes its partners such as Qatar Ports, Qatar Rail, Mowasalat (Karwa) and Q-Terminals. The Ministry’s pavilion will present the most important programs and projects of the transport sector that adopt the latest innovative practices based on environmental sustainability and clean energy, in accordance with the Ministrys Keenness on environmental preservation issues which represent a fundamental goal in all its work plans and projects, in addition to supporting the national activities and events concerned with environmental development.

The Ministry affirmed in a statement today its commitment to building an integrated, safe and sustainable transportation system that supports economic and population growth while preserving the environment, to be a true legacy for future generations, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.

الدوحة: تبدأ يوم غد /الخميس/ فعاليات النسخة التاسعة من /معرض قطر الزراعي الدولي 2022/ و/معرض قطر البيئي الدولي الثالث/ اللذين تنظمهما على مدى خمسة أيام، وزارتا البلدية والبيئة، بمركز الدوحة للمعارض والمؤتمرات، بهدف دعم مشروعات التنمية الزراعية والأمن الغذائي وتحقيق الاكتفاء وتعزيز الحماية البيئية في قطر.

ويأتي تنظيم معرض قطر الزراعي الدولي التاسع 2022، ومعرض قطر البيئي الدولي الثالث، في إطار خطة الدولة للأمن الغذائي والتي من بينها إقامة المعارض الدولية التي تعد ملتقى للمزارعين والمنتجين والمهتمين وشركات الإنتاج والمستهلكين، وكذا في إطار اهتمام الدولة الكبير بموضوع الاستدامة البيئية، في وقت يشهد فيه القطاع الزراعي والقطاع البيئي، تطورا واسعا واهتماما كبيرا من الدولة وفق خطط واستراتيجيات تنموية متعددة وناجحة.

وفي هذا السياق، يعد معرض قطر الزراعي الدولي من أهم المنصات الشاملة التي تتيح للأطراف الفاعلة في القطاع الزراعي على الصعيدين المحلي والدولي، فرصة تبادل الخبرات واستكشاف آخر الاتجاهات والمستجدات والفوز بفرص الأعمال في هذا القطاع الحيوي، بجانب تسليطه الضوء على الابتكارات الحديثة في التقنيات الزراعية ووضع خارطة الطريق التي تحقق الأمن الغذائي والتنمية المستدامة.

كما يتيح المعرض، وعبر جميع دوراته، فرصة مثالية للمتخصصين في الصناعات الزراعية، تمكِّنهم من استكشاف نطاق واسع من المعدات والتقنيات والمنتجات الزراعية، والتعرف على أفضل الممارسات في هذه المجالات.

أما معرض قطر البيئي الدولي، فمن شأنه دعم جهود الدولة في قطاع البيئة والاستدامة البيئية، وطرح الحلول المبتكرة وتوفير منصة دولية لتبادل الخبرات المحلية والدولية في شتى محاور الاستدامة البيئية في دولة قطر، بما يتماشى ورؤية قطر الوطنية 2030 التي جعلت التنمية البيئية إحدى ركائزها الأربع.

ويؤكد السيد يوسف بن خالد الخليفي نائب رئيس اللجنة المنظمة، مدير إدارة الشؤون الزراعية بوزارة البلدية لوكالة الأنباء القطرية /قنا/ على أهمية معرض قطر الزراعي الدولي التاسع في ظل النجاحات والنسب الكبيرة التي حققتها دولة قطر على صعيد الإنتاج الزراعي بشقيه النباتي والحيواني، مشيرا إلى أن الوزارة حرصت على مشاركة 80 مزرعة محلية تعنى بإنتاج الخضراوات في المعرض الزراعي، إضافة إلى إقامة سوق منفصل للعسل المحلي تشارك فيه 25 مزرعة قطرية، وآخر للتمور المحلية أيضا بشتى أنواعها وأصنافها، وسوق أيضا للمشاتل.

وأضاف في سياق ذي صلة أنه سيتم على هامش الفعاليات وعلى الصعيد المحلي توقيع مذكرتي تفاهم مع كل من الهلال الأحمر القطري وجمعية قطر الخيرية باعتبارهما شريكي وزارة البلدية فيما يعنى بتوزيع التمور القطرية على الدول المحتاجة.

وتابع الخليفي “على هامش المؤتمر المصاحب للمعرض، حرصنا على تشجيع الشباب القطريين، وعرض أبحاثهم العلمية في مجال الزراعة والإنتاج الزراعي أثناء الفعاليات، وأنه في هذا السياق، سيقوم عدد من هؤلاء الشباب الحاصلين على شهادات الدكتوراة في الدراسات والأبحاث الزراعية، باستعراض المشاريع التي تخصصوا

فيها في هذه المجالات أمام المؤتمر، الذي اكتسب أهمية لافتة، وأصبح منصة حيوية بارزة لتبادل الخبرات والمعارف بين المشاركين والمختصين”.

يذكر أنه فيما يتعلق بالإنتاج الزراعي والخطط التنموية في هذا الصدد، حققت قطر نسبا عالية في جهودها الخاصة بالأمن الغذائي والسلع الطازجة التي يمكن إنتاجها محليا من النباتات والخضراوات واللحوم والدواجن والألبان، ما أسهم في تغطية جزء كبير من احتياجات السوق المحلي، ما زاد بدوره الإقبال على المنتج القطري.

وفي هذا الخصوص ذكر الدكتور مسعود جارالله المري مدير إدارة الأمن الغذائي بوزارة البلدية، في تصريح لوكالة الأنباء القطرية /قنا/، على هامش منتدى المنظمة الإسلامية للأمن الغذائي للسلع الإستراتيجية وسلامة الغذاء بالدوحة مؤخرا، بعض النسب التي حققتها قطر في مجال الاكتفاء الذاتي من المنتجات الزراعية المحلية ومن ذلك الدواجن الطازجة بنسبة 127 بالمائة، وبنسبة و106 بالمائة في الألبان الطازجة، و45 بالمائة في بيض المائدة، وتوقع ارتفاع هذه النسبة إلى 65 بالمائة بنهاية العام الجاري، بجانب الوصول إلى نسبة 100 بالمائة في إنتاج الخضراوات شتاء، وتحقيق نسبة إنتاج بـ100 بالمائة في الأسماك والتمور، و21 بالمائة في مجال إنتاج اللحوم الحمراء، علما أن النسبة المستهدفة هي 30 بالمائة.

وأضاف، أن إستراتيجية الأمن الغذائي الناجعة لدولة قطر، ونجاحها في تجاوز العديد من التحديات، قادها إلى تبوء مكانة متقدمة في التصنيف الدولي للأمن الغذائي واحتلالها المرتبة الأولى عربيا والرابعة والعشرين عالميا في هذا المجال.

ونوه إلى أن قطر حريصة على تحقيق المزيد من التقدم في المؤشر الدولي للأمن الغذائي، والارتقاء إلى مراتب أفضل من المرتبة الحالية وتحقيق المزيد من الشروط التي تسمح لها بمزيد من التقدم في التصنيف العالمي للأمن الغذائي، والمتمثلة أساسا في تقليل هدر الغذاء والفاقد الحصادي وغيرها من الأمور ذات العلاقة، وقال إن الدولة قادرة على الاستجابة لهذه الأمور لتحسين تصنيفها الدولي في مؤشر الأمن الغذائي.

وتشارك في المعرضين القطري الزراعي الدولي التاسع والقطري البيئي الدولي الثالث نحو 50 دولة حول العالم، ما يؤكد مدى الاهتمام العالمي المتزايد بهذه الفعاليات بشقيها الزراعي والبيئي في ظل المشاريع الزراعية الحيوية والفرص الاستثمارية الواعدة التي تزخر بها دولة قطر، والدعم الحكومي اللامحدود لتحفيز قطاعات الإنتاج الزراعي، الحيوانية والنباتية، وحماية البيئة وصون شتى عناصرها ومكوناتها، وهو ما يفسره مشاركة أكثر من 650 جهة محلية ودولية تعنى بهذه القطاعات.

كما يشهد المعرض مشاركة أكثر من 150 شركة قطرية منها 60 شركة زراعية، و50 شركة للصناعات الغذائية، و25 شركة بيئية، إضافة إلى عدد من الشركات التي تعنى بالثروة الحيوانية والشؤون البيطرية، علاوة على مشاركة 80 مزرعة محلية في سوق المزارعين، و50 منتجا محليا في سوق العسل والتمور، في حين سيشهد سوق المشاتل مشاركة 10 من كبرى شركات تنسيق الحدائق.

وسيوفر المعرضان فرصة مواتية للمهتمين بالقطاعات الزراعية والبيئية، والمشاركين وصناع القرار في القطاعين العام والخاص، للالتقاء وتبادل الخبرات والمعارف ذات الصلة محليا ودوليا، وعرض المنتجات والمعدات والتقنيات والوقوف على مؤشرات وتطورات القطاعين الزراعي والبيئي في دولة قطر.

ويحرص المنظمون على تطوير المعرضين كل عام من حيث أساليب العرض وتنوع المجالات والمشاركات وجودتها، بما يعكس اهتمام الدولة بالقطاع الزراعي والأمن الغذائي والبيئي بوجه عام.

وحول المعرض البيئي وأهميته والتطوير الذي طرأ عليه يرى السيد فرهود الهاجري مدير إدارة العلاقات العامة بوزارة البيئة والتغير المناخي أن أهمية المعرض تأتي من اهتمام دولة قطر بقضية البيئة والتغير المناخي التي قال إنها أصبحت شأنا عالميا توليه الدول والمنظمات المعنية جل عنايتها واهتمامها.

ونوه الهاجري في تصريح لوكالة الأنباء القطرية /قنا/ إلى أن تنظيم هذا المعرض يأتي في إطار دعم جهود الدولة في مجال الاهتمام بالبيئة، باعتبارها إحدى الركائز الأساسية لرؤية قطر الوطنية 2030، وأنه بمثابة منصة مثالية تتيح المجال أمام المهتمين للتعرف على التقنيات الحديثة ذات الصلة بقضايا البيئة والاستدامة البيئية وعرض أحدث الابتكارات في هذه المجالات الحيوية، لا سيما وأن الدولة حريصة على حماية البيئة وتوازنها الطبيعي وشتى عناصرها ومكوناتها.

وذكر أن فعاليات المعرض ستشهد مشاركات وأنشطة متعددة من جهات محلية ودولية تصب في تعزيز الجهود المحلية والدولية في مجال حماية البيئية واستدامتها ومواكبة المستجدات العالمية والتطورات والتقنيات في هذا المجال، مشيرا إلى أن المعرض البيئي سيتيح الفرصة لوزارة البيئة والتغير المناخي لإبراز دورها وخططها في حماية البيئة وتحقيق الاستدامة ومواجهة التغير المناخي.

يشار إلى أن فعاليات المعرضين تتزامن مع الطفرة المتنامية التي يعيشها قطاع الزراعة المحلي بشقيه النباتي والحيواني وجهود حماية بيئة قطر وشتى مكوناتها من الهدر والتلوث بجميع أشكاله. كما يمثل المعرضان منصة لتبادل الخبرات والتجارب والاطلاع على أحدث التطورات والممارسات العالمية، وأهم التحديات والفرص المتاحة في قطاعات الزراعة والبيئة.

وتشارك وزارة المواصلات في معرض قطر الزراعي الدولي التاسع ومعرض قطر البيئي الدولي الثالث بجناح يضم أيضا الجهات الشريكة لها مثل شركات مواني قطر، وسكك الحديد القطرية (الريل)، ومواصلات (كروه)، وكيوتيرمينلز، ويعرض أهم برامج ومشاريع قطاع النقل التي تتبنى أحدث الممارسات المبتكرة القائمة على الاستدامة البيئية والطاقة النظيفة، وذلك انطلاقا من اهتمام الوزارة بقضايا الحفاظ على البيئة التي تعد هدفاً جوهرياً في كافة خطط عملها ومشاريعها، إلى جانب دعم الأنشطة والفعاليات الوطنية المعنية بالتنمية البيئية.

وأكدت الوزارة في بيان اليوم التزامها ببناء منظومة نقل متكاملة وآمنة ومستدامة تدعم النمو الاقتصادي والسكاني وتحافظ على البيئة، لتكون إرثا حقيقيا للأجيال القادمة، تحقيقا لرؤية قطر الوطنية 2030.
