FIM President Praises Qatar MotoGP Grand Prix

Doha: President of the International Motorcycle Federation, (FIM) Jorge Viegas praised the distinguished organization of the Qatar Grand Prix, the first round of the MotoGP World Championship, which lasted for three days under the floodlights at the Losail International Circuit.
In a press statement on the sidelines of the closing day, Viegas said that the Qatar Grand Prix was successful, both in organizational and technical terms, and it is not strange for the Qatar Federation, which is hosting this tour for the twentieth time.
He added that the successes achieved by Qatar in hosting the world’s most prominent motorcycle championships made it a distinguished sports destination and a magnet for athletes, not only in cycling, but in various sports.
The President of the International Federation stated that the twentieth edition of the Qatar Grand Prix appeared in a distinctive way, especially with regard to the arrangements and facilities for the teams and riders, which made the technical competitions come out strong.
Viegas indicated that there is great coordination between the International and Qatar Federations in order to discuss more cooperation and plans to develop the circuit and the upcoming championships, and in this regard, the Qatar Federation will construct a new tower for racing.
At the end of his statement, Viegas praised the young Qatari cyclist Hamad Al Sahouti, who achieved second place in the Asian Talent Cup race and the great development that appeared on him, considering that he is a champion project for the future, and that he is one of the distinguished riders in Asia who will have a great place in the future, but he needs more care and attention to reach the world level.

الدوحة: أشاد البرتغالي جورجي فيجاس رئيس الاتحاد الدولي للدراجات النارية، بالتنظيم المميز الذي خرجت به جائزة قطر الكبرى، أولى جولات بطولة العالم للدراجات النارية /الموتو جي بي/ التي استمرت ثلاثة أيام تحت الأضواء الكاشفة في حلبة لوسيل الدولية .
وقال فيجاس ،في تصريح صحفي على هامش اليوم الختامي، إن جائزة قطر الكبرى خرجت بصورة ناجحة سواء من الناحية التنظيمية أو الفنية، وهو ليس بغريب على الاتحاد القطري الذي يستضيف هذه الجولة للمرة العشرين.
وأضاف أن النجاحات التي حققتها قطر في استضافة أبرز بطولات العالم للدراجات النارية، جعلتها قبلة رياضية مميزة وقبلة للرياضيين، وذلك ليس في رياضة الدراجات فقط، وإنما في مختلف الرياضات.
وأوضح رئيس الاتحاد الدولي أن النسخة العشرين من جائزة قطر الكبرى ظهرت بصورة مميزة، خاصة فيما يتعلق بالترتيبات والتسهيلات الخاصة بالفرق والدراجين، وهو الأمر الذي جعل المنافسات الفنية تخرج بصورة قوية.
وأشار فيجاس إلى أن هناك تنسيقا كبيرا بين الاتحادين الدولي والقطري من أجل بحث المزيد من التعاون والخطط لتطوير الحلبة والبطولات المقبلة، وفي هذا الصدد سيقوم الاتحاد القطري بإنشاء برج جديد خاص بالسباقات.
وهنأ رئيس الاتحاد الدولي الاتحاد القطري بشكل خاص وقطر بشكل عام على مرور 20 عاما على استضافة إحدى جولات بطولة العالم للموتو جي بي، وكذلك على التنظيم الرائع والنجاح الكبير الذي حققته الجولة.
وأشاد فيجاس في ختام تصريحه، بالدراج القطري الشاب حمد السحوتي الذي حقق المركز الثاني في سباق كأس المواهب الآسيوية والتطور الكبير الذي ظهر عليه، معتبرا أنه مشروع بطل للمستقبل، وأنه من الدراجين المميزين في آسيا الذين سيكون لهم شأن كبير في المستقبل، خاصة أنه يعرف كيف يتحكم في دراجته، لكنه يحتاج إلى المزيد من الرعاية والاهتمام حتى يصل إلى المستوى العالمي .
