Qatar International Agricultural and Environmental Exhibitions to Open Thursday

Doha: Under the patronage of HE Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani, the Ministry of Municipality and the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change will organize the 9th International Agricultural Exhibition (AgriteQ) and the 3rd International Environmental Exhibition (EnviroteQ), at Doha Exhibition and Convention Center from March 10 to 14, with the participation of more than 650 local and international bodies from the sectors of agriculture, environment, food and animal production.

Mohammed Ali Al Khoury, Director of the Public Parks Department at the Ministry of Municipality and Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Exhibition, underlined the importance of the two exhibitions as a strategic and effective platform to explore new horizons to advance the Qatari agricultural sector which comes at the forefront of strategic priorities to achieve self-sufficiency, and offer innovative environmental solutions to meet current and emerging challenges and an opportunity to exchange international and local experiences.

Al Khoury added that the exhibitions will be the largest international trade event organized in the State of Qatar since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, noting that nearly 50 countries will participate in the exhibitions through their embassies and commercial offices in Doha.

He said that the exhibitions attract wide interest in light of the vital agricultural projects and promising investment opportunities in Qatar, as well as the unlimited government support to stimulate agricultural, livestock and fish production, and enhance marketing of the national agricultural products.

He added that the State of Qatar’s keenness to organize the agricultural exhibition confirms its increasing interest in the agricultural sector in recent years, with the aim of achieving major leaps in local production to increase self-sufficiency rates and achieve food security. Meanwhile, the environmental exhibition is an effective platform and an opportunity to allow pioneers to explore promising opportunities within the vital sector in Qatar and directly access to modern technologies related to water treatment, waste management, smart agriculture and others.

For his part, Yousef Khalid Al Khulaifi, Director of the Agricultural Affairs Department at the Ministry of Municipality and Vice-Chairman of the Organizing Committee, said that the agricultural sector in the State of Qatar has made qualitative leaps in the past few years in the volume and quality of production, through the implementation of many projects, programs and initiatives to contribute to increasing agricultural production, and achieving self-sufficiency rates targeted by the National Food Security Strategy, which made the State of Qatar ranks first among Arab countries in the Global Food Security Index for the year 2021, for the second time in the last three years.

He noted that the exhibition will be an opportunity to enhance prospects for cooperation and exchange of experiences between local and international institutions and companies, to enhance investment in agricultural projects, and facilitate access to everything new in the world of technological innovations that would advance the growth of agricultural production and achieve food security, pointing to the signing of a number of agreements and memoranda of cooperation between government and private agencies to support the agricultural and environmental sectors on the sidelines of the two exhibitions.

He confirmed the participation of more than 150 Qatari companies, including 60 agricultural companies, 50 food industries companies, 25 environmental companies, in addition to a number of companies concerned with livestock and veterinary affairs. Meanwhile, the farmers market will see the participation of 80 local farms, along with the participation of 50 local producers in the honey and dates market, and 10 of the largest landscaping companies in the nursery market.

He noted that the large participation of commercial delegations and representatives of chambers of commerce from some countries, in addition to the participation of embassies and local and international companies, makes the 2022 edition the largest since the launch of the two exhibitions.

الدوحة: تحت رعاية معالي الشيخ خالد بن خليفة بن عبدالعزيز آل ثاني رئيس مجلس الوزراء ووزير الداخلية، تنظم وزارتا البلدية والبيئة والتغير المناخي معرض قطر الزراعي الدولي التاسع 2022، ومعرض قطر البيئي الدولي الثالث، وذلك خلال الفترة من 10 إلى 14 مارس الجاري في مركز الدوحة للمعارض والمؤتمرات، وبمشاركة أكثر من 650 جهة محلية ودولية من قطاعات الزراعة والبيئة والغذاء والإنتاج الحيواني.

وأكد السيد محمد علي الخوري مدير إدارة الحدائق العامة في وزارة البلدية رئيس اللجنة المنظمة أن المعرضين يكتسبان أهمية خاصة، كونهما منصة استراتيجية وفعالة لاستكشاف آفاق جديدة للارتقاء بالقطاع الزراعي القطري، باعتباره عصب الأمن الغذائي الذي يأتي في مقدمة الأولويات الاستراتيجية لتحقيق الاكتفاء الذاتي، بالإضافة إلى طرح حلول بيئية مبتكرة لمواجهة التحديات الحالية والناشئة وفرصة لتبادل الخبرات الدولية والمحلية.

وأضاف أن العام الحالي سيشهد تنظيم أضخم دورة للمعرضين منذ الانطلاق، وسيكون أكبر حدث تجاري دولي يتم تنظيمه في دولة قطر منذ جائحة كورونا /كوفيد-19/، مشيرا الى أن المعرضين الزراعي والبيئي سيشهدان مشاركة ما يقرب من 50 دولة من خلال سفاراتها ومكاتبها التجارية في الدوحة، وذلك بأجنحة دولية رسمية، في وقت يستقطب فيه المعرض بشقيه الزراعي والبيئي، اهتماما واسعا في ظل المشاريع الزراعية الحيوية والفرص الاستثمارية الواعدة التي تزخر بها قطر، فضلا عن الدعم الحكومي اللامحدود لتحفيز الإنتاج الزراعي والحيواني والسمكي، وتعزيز عمليات تسويق المنتجات الزراعية الوطنية.

وأكد أن حرص دولة قطر على تنظيم المعرض الزراعي يؤكد اهتمامها المتزايد بالقطاع الزراعي خلال السنوات الأخيرة، بهدف تحقيق طفرات كبيرة في الإنتاج المحلي لزيادة معدلات نسب الاكتفاء الذاتي وتحقيق الأمن الغذائي، مشيرا إلى أن المعرض البيئى يعتبر منصة فعالة وفرصة لإتاحة المجال أمام الرواد لاستكشاف الفرص الواعدة ضمن القطاع الحيوي في قطر والوصول مباشرة إلى التقنيات الحديثة ذات الصلة بمعالجة المياه وإدارة النفايات والزراعة الذكية وغيرها.

ونوه بالتنسيق مع وزارة الصحة العامة، مشيرا إلى اتخاذ كافة الإجراءات الوقائية اللازمة لضمان صحة وسلامة المشاركين والزائرين.

من جابنه، قال السيد يوسف خالد الخليفي مدير إدارة الشؤون الزراعية في وزارة البلدية نائب رئيس اللجنة المنظمة إن القطاع الزراعي في دولة قطر حقّق في السنوات القليلة الماضية قفزات نوعية في حجم ونوعية الإنتاج، من خلال تنفيذ العديد من المشاريع والبرامج والمبادرات للمساهمة في زيادة الإنتاج الزراعي المحلي وتحقيق نسب الإكتفاء الذاتي التي تستهدفها الاستراتيجية الوطنية للأمن الغذائي، ما وضع دولة قطر في صدارة ترتيب الدول العربية في المؤشر العالمي للأمن الغذائي للعام 2021، وذلك للمرة الثانية خلال السنوات الثلاثة الأخيرة.

واعتبر أن المعرض فرصة لتعزيز آفاق التعاون وتبادل الخبرات بين المؤسسات والشركات المحلية والعالمية، وتعزيز الاستثمار في المشاريع الزراعية، وتسهيل الوصول إلى كل ما هو جديد في عالم الابتكارات التكنولوجية التي من شأنها دفع عجلة نمو الإنتاج الزراعي وتحقيق الأمن الغذائي، مشيرا إلى توقيع عدد من الاتفاقيات ومذكرات التعاون بين الجهات الحكومية والخاصة لدعم القطاعين الزراعى والبيئى على هامش المعرضين، أبرزها توقيع مذكرة تفاهم مع قطر الخيرية والهلال الأحمر القطري، لدعم مشروع توزيع التمور الخاصة بحائزي المزارع المنتجة داخل وخارج دولة قطر، وكذلك توقيع اتفاقيات تعاونية مع الجهات الدولية المشاركة.

وأكد مشاركة أكثر من 150 شركة قطرية، منها 60 شركة زراعية، و50 شركة للصناعات الغذائية، و25 شركة بيئية، إضافة الى عدد من الشركات التي تعنى بالثروة الحيوانية والشؤون البيطرية، بينما سيشهد سوق المزارعين في المعرض مشاركة 80 مزرعة محلية، إلى جانب مشاركة 50 منتجا محليا فى سوق العسل والتمور، وأيضا 10 من كبرى شركات تنسيق الحدائق في سوق المشاتل.

ونوه بأن المشاركة الكبيرة للوفود التجارية وممثلى الغرف التجارية من بعض الدول، إلى جانب مشاركة السفارات والشركات المحلية والدولية، تجعل من نسخة 2022 الأضخم منذ إنطلاق المعرضين، ما يؤكد الأهمية التي باتت تتمتّع بها قطاعات الزراعة والإنتاج الغذائي والبيئة في دولة قطر، وحجم الإهتمام من قبل الشركات والمستثمرين القطريين والدوليين بهذه القطاعات.
