Qatari Diar’s ‘Chelsea Barracks’ Wins World’s Best Sustainable Housing Project

Doha: Qatari Diar won the award for the best sustainable housing project in the world for the Chelsea Barracks project in Belgravia, Britain, as part of the International Property Awards ceremony organized in London.

The 12.8-acre Chelsea Barracks project, a mixed-use real estate development project featuring traditional gardens in Britain’s Belgravia district that embraces the neighborhood to form public green spaces and trails that permeate the site, won the award thanks to its environmentally responsible design and the abundant number of sustainability certificates it holds.

The various components of the Chelsea Barracks project promote sustainability at the heart of the developers’ vision, as 40 percent of the site area is dedicated to green spaces, and the design and materials used in construction all support this vision, which led the project to obtain a platinum rating from the energy leadership system and environmentally friendly designs (LEED) after it was considered as the most sustainable project in Europe and one of 16 projects worldwide achieved this classification, which helped the project in Receive the International Property Award.

In a statement, CEO of Qatari Diar Eng. Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah said that the company has developed its strategic vision that the Chelsea Barracks project from its inception should be based on the maximum sustainability that can be achieved when developing any real estate project through the design and implementation of a sustainable project integrated and environmentally friendly, including a diversified residential complex with platinum ratings from energy driving system, environmentally friendly designs and green spaces over 40 percent of the project area as a whole.

Al Attiyah explained that these factors added great value to the project’s residents and the local community in the revived part of the Belgravia district of London and that the company was keen to create spaces that will be very smoothly aligned with the surrounding area, expressing his great happiness at the effort sought by the company’s victory in the best sustainable housing project in the UK, Europe, and the world.

Diar won the British version of the award last year in the UK, winning the global award for all copies of the best sustainable housing project award held at the levels of Britain, Europe, and the world.

The global version won by this company is considered the most prestigious award that can be obtained in this field for its excellence in the world, which established the position of the workers on the Chelsea Barracks project as leaders in the field of global sustainability.

الدوحة: فازت شركة /الديار/ القطرية بجائزة أفضل مشروع سكني مستدام في العالم عن مشروع /ثكنات تشيلسي/ في حي بلغرافيا ببريطانيا ،وذلك ضمن احتفالية جوائز International Property Award التي نظمت في لندن.

وفاز مشروع ثكنات تشيلسي ،الذي يحتل مساحة 12.8 فدانا وهو عبارة عن مشروع تطوير عقاري متعدد الاستخدامات يضم حدائق تقليدية في حي بلغرافيا ببريطانيا تعانق الحي لتشكل مساحات خضراء عامة ومسارات تتخلل الموقع، بالجائزة بفضل تصميمه المسؤول بيئيا والعدد الوافر من شهادات الاستدامة التي يحملها.

وتعمل مختلف مكونات مشروع /ثكنات تشيلسي/ على تعزيز الاستدامة التي تقع في قلب رؤية المطورين، حيث إن 40 بالمائة من مساحة الموقع مخصصة للمساحات الخضراء كما أن التصميم والمواد المستخدمة في البناء كلها تدعم هذه الرؤية مما قاد المشروع للحصول على تصنيف بلاتينيوم من نظام القيادة في الطاقة والتصاميم الصديقة للبيئة (LEED) بعدما تم اعتباره كأكثر المشاريع مراعاة للاستدامة في أوروبا وواحدا من 16 مشروعا على مستوى العالم حققت هذا التصنيف مما ساعد المشروع في الحصول على جائزة International Property Award.

وبهذا الصدد قال المهندس عبدالله بن حمد العطية الرئيس التنفيذي لشركة الديار القطرية في تصريح له اليوم ، :”إن الشركة وضعت في رؤيتها الاستراتيجية أن يرتكز مشروع /ثكنات تشيلسي/ منذ بدايته على أقصى درجات الاستدامة التي يمكن بلوغها عند تطوير أي مشروع عقاري من خلال تصميم وتنفيذ مشروع مستدام ومتكامل وصديق للبيئة ومتضمن مجمعا سكنيا متنوع المرافق حاز مسبقا على التصنيف بلاتينيوم من نظام القيادة في الطاقة والتصاميم الصديقة للبيئة ومساحات خضراء تزيد عن 40 بالمائة من مساحة المشروع ككل”.

وأوضح العطية أن هذه العوامل أضافت قيمة كبيرة لسكان المشروع والمجتمع المحلي في الجزء الذي تم إحياؤه من حي بلغرافيا في لندن وأن الشركة كانت حريصة على خلق مساحات تتناغم بسلاسة كبيرة مع المنطقة المجاورة، معربا عن سعادته الكبيرة بما لاقاه الجهد من تقديره من خلال فوز الشركة بأفضل مشروع سكني مستدام على مستوى المملكة المتحدة وأوروبا والعالم.

وكانت شركة الديار قد فازت بالنسخة البريطانية من الجائزة العام الماضي في المملكة المتحدة لتكون بذلك قد حازت عقب فوزها مؤخرا بالجائزة العالمية بجميع نسخ جائزة أفضل مشروع سكني مستدام التي تقام على مستويات بريطانيا وأوروبا والعالم.
