Qatar Financial Center Regulatory Authority Expands Partnership with Microsoft

Doha: The Qatar Financial Center Regulatory Authority (QFCRA) has expanded its partnership with Microsoft by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to leverage Microsofts advanced cloud services to improve performance, increase resiliency and lower costs across its operations.

The MoU was signed by CEO of Qatar Financial Center Regulatory Authority Michael Ryan, and Country Manager at Microsoft Qatar Lana Khalaf.

As part of the MoU, the QFCRA and Microsoft will explore a roadmap for solutions that leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data analytics to derive actionable insights from social media analytics, AI-powered knowledge mining, Robotic Process Automation (RPA), chatbots and more.

The QFCRA and Microsoft will also engage in awareness sessions to showcase the latest innovative Microsoft technologies and solutions, and QFCRA employees will be enrolled into the Microsoft National Skilling Program for Qatar.

“Our move to the Microsoft cloud in 2020 enabled us to deliver fast, secure on-demand services from anywhere at any time, while reducing our IT running costs by more than 60%,” said Fatma Abdulrahman Al Meer, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer at QFCRA. “We are proud to expand our partnership with Microsoft and maximize the power of the cloud to extract intelligent, actionable insights which will inform our decision-making, optimize our operations and transform the way we deliver our services.”

For her part, Lana Khalaf, Country Manager at Microsoft Qatar, said “With the exponential growth in data, organizations require highly secure trusted solutions to empower their business leaders to harness the power of data at scale for optimized operations and better decision making. We are pleased to partner with QFCRA to leverage advanced cloud technologies like AI to unlock actionable insights from their data.”

The QFCRAs partnership with Microsoft comes ahead of the technology providers launch of a new datacenter region in Qatar, which will avail enterprise-grade cloud services, combined with data residency, security, and the broadest compliance to international financial services regulations.

الدوحة: عززت هيئة تنظيم مركز قطر للمال شراكتها مع شركة مايكروسوفت بتوقيع مذكرة تفاهم للاستفادة من الخدمات السحابية المتقدمة للشركة، وتحسين أداء العمليات وخفض التكاليف وتعزيز كفاءة الهيئة وأهدافها الرامية إلى تحقيق التحوّل الرقمي.

وقع المذكرة كل من السيد مايكل راين الرئيس التنفيذي لهيئة تنظيم مركز قطر للمال والسيدة لانا خلف المدير العام لمايكرسوفت- قطر.

وبموجب المذكرة، ستعمل الهيئة مع مايكروسوفت على وضع خارطة طريق للاستفادة من الحلول التي تعتمد على الذكاء الاصطناعي وتحليل البيانات واستخلاص المعلومات والقراءات القابلة للتنفيذ وغيرها من العمليات.

وسيشارك الطرفان في جلسات توعوية يتم خلالها عرض أحدث تقنيات وحلول مايكروسوفت المبتكرة، كما سيتم تسجيل موظفي الهيئة في برنامج مايكروسوفت قطر الوطني لتعزيز المهارات.

وقالت السيدة فاطمة عبدالرحمن المير المدير التنفيذي للشؤون المالية المدير التنفيذي للعمليات لدى هيئة تنظيم مركز قطر للمال: “استطعنا من خلال الانتقال إلى سحابة مايكروسوفت في العام 2020 تقديم خدمات سريعة وآمنة عند الطلب من أي مكان في العالم وفي أي وقت مع خفض التكاليف التشغيلية لتكنولوجيا المعلومات لدينا بأكثر من 60”.

وأضافت أن تعزيز الشراكة مع مايكروسوفت سيساهم في توسيع نطاق الاستفادة من الإمكانيات السحابية في استخراج القراءات الذكية والعملية التي ستشكل أساساً لاتخاذ القرارات ووضع الخطط وتحسين العمليات وتحويل سبل تقديم الخدمات.

من جانبها، نوهت السيدة لانا خلف المدير العام لمايكرسوفت- قطر إلى زيادة حاجة الشركات إلى حلول موثوقة وآمنة لمعالجتها بسبب التسارع اليومي في نمو البيانات، مشيرة إلى أن تحليل البيانات سيساعد قادة الأعمال على رفع كفاءة العمليات من جهة، وتحسين عملية اتخاذ القرار من جهة أخرى.

وتأتي شراكة هيئة تنظيم مركز قطر للمال مع مايكروسوفت قبيل إطلاق منطقة مركز البيانات السحابية الجديدة في دولة قطر التي ستقدّم خدمات سحابية متقدمة للمؤسسات وخدمات تخزين البيانات محلياً، كما تقدم مستويات عالية من الحماية الأمنية والامتثال للمعايير الرقابية العالمية المطبقة في قطاع الخدمات المالية.
