A scene that is repeated daily in Lusail and other cities in Qatar, amid residential and recreational areas and tourist destinations, with one result where the General Traffic Department seizes the car and refers the driver to the Public Prosecution.
But the most important question remains: Is the legal action alone a deterrent to the death drifting parade enthusiasts? .. The answer will certainly be “no”.. These enthusiasts did not retreat or were preached by legal actions alone.
Psychologists say that the love of showing off, self-affirmation and fame on social media are reasons enough for young people to venture, as soon as the young man shows off and another films that mini adventure and post it on social media to get thousands of likes and retweets or shares, will they stop after all this temptation and all this fame?
Officials of the General Directorate of Traffic confirm that the lack of parental supervision, and their keenness to resolve the legal conditions of cars seized without holding children accountable for these dangerous acts, makes children repeat this act.
These two parties, the General Administration of Traffic and parents asks the youth for places to practice this hobby. The response came quickly and from the Mawater center, where Sealine arena opened its doors for the first time for free form drifters, and the arena was greeted by a large number of enthusiasts who enjoyed practicing their hobby in a pleasant atmosphere and the participation of a wide range of supplied cars.
Located behind the cabin complex expanding over an area of 500 metres in each direction, Sealine arena is the first of its kind in the region and has spaces for the public and for families and people with special needs with more than 4,000 seats.
A number of enthusiasts confirm to “Al-Sharq” that the establishment of this arena came after many demands of amateurs, as it meets their needs, where they could not find places to practice their hobbies and unload their energies, explaining: now and after the opening of the Sealine arena, which fullfills all of their demands, whether security and safety measures, and the opportunity to drift as long as possible without committing any violations.
The Lusail arena came before the Sealine arena, and the competent authorities are rushing to legalize death drifting parades into risk-free, expert-supervised and equipped reviews with protection and rescue.
Experts told Al-Sharq that the opening of the arena will reduce recklessness and negligence of some young people in showing off elsewhere, thanking the Mawater Centre, which has given amateurs the opportunity to practice the hobby of drifting and unloading their energies in a suitable place.
Amidst the wishes of experts to reduce recklessness, parents should direct their children to these safe arenas, in order to keep them from the problems of street drifting.

الدوحة: أصوات فرامل عالية, وسيارة لاند كروزر حديثة الموديل تكاد تنقلب على جانبها الأيسر, ليتساءل مرتادو منطقة المارينا بالقرب من كورنيش مدينة لوسيل، أمس الجمعة، عما يحدث؟.. وتكون الإجابة.. إحدى السيارات تستعرض بتهور.
مشهد يتكرر يومياً في لوسيل وغيرها من مدن قطر، وسط مناطق سكنية وترفيهية ووجهات سياحية، والنتيجة أن الإدارة العامة للمرور تضبط السيارة وتحيل السائق إلى النيابة العامة.
لكن يبقى السؤال الأهم: هل يمثل الإجراء القانوني وحده رادعاً لمحبي هواية استعراضات الموت؟.. الإجابة بالتأكيد ستكون بـ “لا” .. فلم يتراجع هواة الاستعراضات أو يتعظوا بالإجراء القانوني وحده.
يقول الإخصائيون في علم النفس إن حب الاستعراض وإثبات الذات والشهرة على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي أسباب كافية تجعل الشباب يغامرون، فبمجرد أن يستعرض الشاب ويصوره آخر ويشارك هذه المغامرة المصغرة على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي ليحصل الآلاف من الإعجاب وإعادة المشاركة، فهل سيتوقفوا بعد كل هذا الإغراء وكل هذه الشهرة؟.
يؤكد مسؤولو الإدارة العامة للمرور أن غياب إشراف أولياء الأمور، وحرصهم على تعديل الأوضاع القانونية للسيارات التي تم ضبطها دون محاسبة الأبناء على هذه الاستعراضات الخطرة، يجعل الأبناء يكررون هذا الفعل.
وما بين الطرفين الإدارة العامة للمرور وأولياء الأمور يطالب الشباب بحلبات لاستعراض هوايتهم .. ليأتي الرد سريعاً ومن مركز مواتر حيث افتتحت حلبة سيلين أبوابها للمرة الأولى أمام هواة الاستعراض الحر، واستقبلت الساحة عددا كبيرا من الهواة الذين استمتعوا بممارسة هوايتهم وسط أجواء مفعمة بالمتعة ومشاركة مجموعة كبيرة من السيارات المزودة.
وتعتبر حلبة سيلين الأولى من نوعها في المنطقة، وتقع خلف مجمع الكبائن وتمتد على مساحة 500 متر في كل اتجاه، وتحتوي على أماكن مخصصة للجمهور وأخرى للعائلات وذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة بعدد مقاعد يتجاوز 4 آلاف مقعد.
ويؤكد عدد من الهواة لـ “الشرق” أن إقامة هذه الحلبة جاء بعد مطالب عديدة من الهواة، حيث إنها تلبي احتياجات الهواة الذين كانوا لا يجدون أماكن لممارسة هواياتهم وتفريغ طاقاتهم، موضحين: أما الآن وبعد افتتاح حلبة سيلين التي تتوافر فيها كافة مطالبهم سواء إجراءات الأمن والسلامة، وإتاحة الفرصة لهم للاستعراض لأكبر وقت ممكن دون ارتكاب أي مخالفات.
وقبل حلبة سيلين، كانت حلبة لوسيل، وتسارع الجهات المختصة لتقنين استعراضات الموت لتصبح استعراضات بدون مخاطر وتحت إشراف وأعين الخبراء ومجهزة بوسائل الحماية والإنقاذ.
ويقول خبراء لـ “الشرق”، إن افتتاح ساحة للاستعراض سوف يحد من الاستهتار وتهور بعض الشباب في الاستعراض بمواقع أخرى، متوجهين بالشكر إلى مركز مواتر الذي أتاح للهواة الفرصة لممارسة هواية الاستعراض وتفريغ طاقاتهم في مكان مناسب.
ووسط أمنيات من الخبراء بالحد من التهور، يجدر بأولياء الأمور، توجيه أبنائهم إلى هذه الحلبات الآمنة، حفاظاً عليهم من مشاكل الاستعراضات بالشوارع.
