PHCC: coronavirus cases detected in schools did not exceed 504

Doha: The school health department assistant at the Primary Health Care Corporation said the number of infections among public school students in the first week, after performing the weekly rapid tests, was only 507.

Ms. Buthaina Al-Naqeeb confirmed in an interview on Qatar TV’s program the social distance that the required amount of rapid tests had been secured and distributed to parents, and they were given sufficient instructions and guidelines on using the rapid test device, whether through social media, brochures and publications with messages or health awareness sessions in the presence of parents.

She explained that the number of cases was counted after collecting pledges from parents of the infection results, and only 504 positive cases were detected in the first week, while the number of cases decreased to 318 in the second week, after the continuation of rapid tests and special procedures related to school students.

She indicated that the environment and indicators in general were good and controlled by the school administration, which conveyed the tasks and procedures entrusted to it, as well as to the school nurse and parents, stressing that the application of the process was smooth from the first week to the second.

Regarding dispensing with rapid weekly tests, Ms. Buthaina said that “at the present time there is no final decision to dispense with rapid tests and the procedures followed for school students,” adding that “there are meetings and arrangements in place, and studies on the tests and results that appeared, and accordingly the decision will be officially issued and circulated on schools and parents”.

كشفت السيدة بثينة النقيب استشاري طب المجتمع، ومساعد إدارة الصحة المدرسية بمؤسسة الرعاية الصحية الأولية، أنّ عدد الإصابات بين طلاب المدارس الحكومية في الأسبوع الأول –بعد الفحوصات الأسبوعية السريعة- لم تتجاوز الـ507 حالات.

وأكّدت النقيب في حديثها عبر برنامج المسافة الاجتماعية على تلفزيون قطر، أنّه تم تأمين الكمية المطلوبة من المسوحات وتوزيعها على أولياء الأمور، وإعطائهم الإرشادات والتعليمات الكافية، لاستخدام جهاز الفحص السريع، سواء عن طريق وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي، أو عن طريق كتيبيات ومطبوعات برسائل أو تثقيف صحي بحضور أولياء الأمور.

وأوضحت أنّ عدد الإصابات تم إحصاؤه بعد جمع التعهدات من أولياء الأمور بنتائج الإصابة، وكانت لا تتعدى 504 إصابات إيجابية في الأسبوع الأول، في حين تدنّت أعداد الإصابات وانخفضت إلى 318 إصابة في الأسبوع الثاني، بعد استمرارية الفحوصات والإجراءات الخاصة المتعلقة بطلاب المدارس.

وأشارت إلى أنّ البيئة والمؤشرات بالعموم كانت جيدة ومسيطرعليها من قبل إداراة المدرسة التي كانت تعلم المهام والإجرات الموكلة إليها، وكذلك الأمر ممرضة المدرسة وأولياء الأمور، مؤكدة أنّ سريان العملية كان سلسًا، بالنسبة لتطبيقه من الأسبوع الأول إلى الثاني.

وحول الاستغناء عن اجراء الفحوصات الأسبوعية السريعة، قالت السيدة بثينة إنّه “في الوقت الحالي لا يوجد قرار نهائي بالاستغناء عن الفحوصات السريعة والإجراءات المتبعة لطلاب المدارس” مضيفةً أنّ “هناك اجتماعات وترتيبات قائمة، ودراسات على الفحوصات والنتائج التي ظهرت، وبناء عليه سيصدر القرار بشكل رسمي ويعمم على المدارس وأولياء الأمور”.
