Eurozone Economy Grows by 5.2 Percent in 2021

Brussels: Official data showed on Monday that the economy of the 19-country eurozone in 2021 grew by 5.2 percent on an annual basis, amid the recovery from the repercussions of Coronavirus (COVID-19), which caused a record contraction during the previous year by 6.4 percent.
The EU Statistics Office (Eurostat) said in a report, that the gross domestic product of the euro area recorded a growth of 0.3 percent in the last quarter of last year on a quarterly basis, compared to a growth of 2.3 percent in the third quarter, amid the effects of the COVID-19 Omicron variant.
On an annual basis, the eurozone economy grew by 4.6 percent in the fourth quarter, compared to a growth of 3.9 percent in the previous third quarter.
For the 27 EU member states, data showed an annual growth of 5.9 percent during 2021.
The eurozone includes the countries of Belgium, Germany, Estonia, Ireland, Greece, Spain, France, Italy, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Austria, Portugal, Slovenia, Slovakia, and Finland.
The EU includes the eurozone countries, in addition to Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Croatia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, and Sweden.

بروكسل: أظهرت بيانات رسمية، يوم أمس نمو اقتصاد منطقة اليورو (19 دولة) في 2021 بنسبة 2ر5 بالمئة على أساس سنوي، وسط التعافي من تداعيات كورونا، الذي تسبب في انكماش قياسي خلال العام السابق بنسبة 6.4 بالمئة.
وقال مكتب الإحصاء الاتحادي “يوروستات” في تقرير له، إن الناتج المحلي الإجمالي لمنطقة اليورو سجل نموا بنسبة 3ر0 بالمئة الربع الأخير من العام الماضي على أساس فصلي، قياسا على نمو 3ر2 بالمئة بالربع الثالث، وسط تأثيرات متغير أوميكرون كورونا.
وعلى أساس سنوي، نما اقتصاد دول اليورو بنسبة 6ر4 بالمئة في الربع الرابع، مقابل نمو 9ر3 بالمئة في الربع الثالث السابق له.
وبالنسبة للاتحاد الأوروبي (27 دولة)، أظهرت البيانات تسجيله نموا سنويا بنسبة 5.9 بالمئة خلال 2021.
وتشمل منطقة اليورو، بلدان بلجيكا وألمانيا وإستونيا وإيرلندا واليونان وإسبانيا وفرنسا وإيطاليا وقبرص الرومية، ولاتفيا وليتوانيا ولوكسمبورغ ومالطا وهولندا والنمسا والبرتغال وسلوفينيا وسلوفاكيا وفنلندا.
فيما يضم الاتحاد الأوروبي دول منطقة اليورو، إضافةً إلى كل من بلغاريا والتشيك والدنمارك وكرواتيا والمجر وبولندا ورومانيا والسويد.
