Doha: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry, in cooperation and coordination with the Ministry of Labor, announced a new decision setting the maximum prices for the recruitment of domestic workers.

The ministries said in a statement on Monday that the decision comes within the framework of their joint efforts to control and combat the rise in the costs of recruiting domestic workers, in accordance with specific controls that protect all concerned parties.

Under the decision, the maximum prices for recruiting domestic workers will be as follows: QR 17,000 from Indonesia; QR 16,000 from Sri Lanka; QR 15,000 from the Philippines; QR 14,000 from Bangladesh and India; and QR 9,000 from Kenya and Ethiopia.

According to the competence of each ministry, inspection campaigns will be intensified in order to ensure compliance of domestic labor recruitment agencies in the country with the decision, to monitor the extent to which those concerned with the decision comply with their stipulated obligations, the statement stressed.

Earlier in January, the Ministry of Labor announced the start of implementation of additional procedures for recruitment agencies, which included extending the preliminary probation period for workers from 3 months to 9 months.

In the statement, the ministries urged citizens and residents to report any abuses or violations by the domestic labor recruitment agencies through the call center 16001; or the Ministry of Commerce and Industry’s accounts on social media – Twitter @MOCIQATAR, and Instagram MOCIQATAR; or the Ministry of Labor via Twitter @molqtr and Instagram molqtr.

الدوحة: أعلنت وزارة التجارة والصناعة، بالتعاون والتنسيق مع وزارة العمل، عن قرار جديد بشأن تعيين الحد الأقصى لأسعار استقدام العمالة المنزلية.

وقالت الوزارتان، في بيان اليوم، إن القرار يأتي في إطار الجهود المشتركة لهما لضبط ومكافحة الارتفاع في تكاليف استقدام العمالة المنزلية، وذلك وفق ضوابط محددة تحمي جميع الأطراف المعنية.

وأوضح البيان، أنه بموجب القرار سيكون الحد الأقصى لأسعار استقدام العمالة المنزلية من جمهورية إندونيسيا 17 ألف ريال، ومن سريلانكا 16 ألف ريال، ومن الفلبين 15 ألف ريال، ومن كل من بنغلاديش والهند 14 ألف ريال، ومن كينيا وإثيوبيا 9 آلاف ريال.

وأكد البيان أنه سيتم العمل، وفقا لاختصاص كل وزارة، على تكثيف الحملات التفتيشية للتأكد من التزام مكاتب استقدام العمالة المنزلية في الدولة بقرار تعيين الحد الأقصى لأسعار الاستقدام، ومتابعة مدى تقيد المعنيين بالقرار بالتزاماتهم المنصوص عليها وضبط أية مخالفات بهذا الشأن.

وكانت وزارة العمل قد شرعت في وقت سابق من يناير الجاري في تطبيق إجراءات إضافية خاصة بمكاتب الاستقدام، تضمنت تمديد فترة الاختبار التمهيدية للعمال من 3 أشهر إلى 9 شهور.

وحثت الوزارتان، في البيان، المواطنين والمقيمين على الإبلاغ عن أي تجاوزات أو مخالفات من قبل مكاتب استقدام العمالة المنزلية عبر مركز الاتصال 16001، أو حسابات وزارة التجارة والصناعة على منصات التواصل الاجتماعي: توتير @MOCIQATAR، وانستغرام MOCIQATAR، ووزارة العمل عبر توتير@molqtr والانستغرام molqtr.
