GCC Secretary-General Stresses Keenness to Promote Relations with China

Wuxi (China): Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Dr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al Hajraf underlined the importance of the GCC-China relations, and the keenness of the GCC countries on strengthening their cooperation and friendship with China to serve the common interests.
During a session of talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Dr. Al Hajraf reviewed the outcomes of the GCC-China ministerial meeting which was held on Nov. 9, 2020, and the bilateral meeting at the headquarters of the GCC General Secretariat in Riyadh on March 24, where the two sides stressed the need to follow up to promote the cooperation in the strategic, economic, health and development fields.
The two sides also discussed the course of free trade negotiations between the two parties, and the preparation for the tenth round of negotiations, stressing the importance of advancing this file and completing it to achieve common interests, especially since China is the first trading partner of the GCC countries. They also discussed the latest developments at the regional and international levels, and a number of issue of common interest, especially in the field of strengthening regional security and stability.
Meanwhile, Head of the GCC Negotiations Team Abdulrahman bin Ahmed Al Harbi discussed with Wang Shouwen, the head of the Chinese negotiating team, Vice Minister of Commerce and Deputy China International Trade Representative, the results of the meetings of the heads of the negotiating teams between the GCC and China, and other negotiating topics with the aim of accelerating the completion of the Free trade agreement negotiations to achieve common interests.
The GCC Secretary-General Dr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al Hajraf started a visit to China on Monday at the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, to discuss means of bolstering the GCC-China relations.

ووشي (الصين): أكد الدكتور نايف فلاح مبارك الحجرف، الأمين العام لمجلس التعاون لدول الخليج العربية، أهمية العلاقات الخليجية – الصينية، في ظل حرص دول المجلس على تعزيز علاقات تعاونها وصداقتها مع الصين، بما يحقق مصالحهما المشتركة.
واستعرض الحجرف، خلال جلسة مباحثات مع السيد وانغ يي وزير الخارجية الصيني، مخرجات الاجتماع الوزاري الخليجي – الصيني الذي عقد في التاسع من نوفمبر 2020، واللقاء الثنائي بمقر الأمانة العامة للمجلس في الرياض بتاريخ 24 مارس الماضي، حيث شدد الجانبان على أهمية المتابعة لتعزيز التعاون في المجالات الاستراتيجية والاقتصادية والصحية والتنموية.
وبحث الجانبان أيضا مسار مفاوضات التجارة الحرة بين الطرفين، والتحضير لجولة المفاوضات العاشرة، مؤكدين أهمية الدفع بهذا الملف واستكماله لتحقيق المصالح المشتركة، لاسيما أن الصين تعتبر الشريك التجاري الأول لمجلس التعاون لدول الخليج العربية، كما ناقشا آخر التطورات على الصعيدين الإقليمي والدولي، وعددا من الملفات ذات الاهتمام المشترك، لاسيما في مجال تعزيز الأمن والاستقرار الإقليمي.
ومن جانبه، بحث السيد عبدالرحمن بن أحمد الحربي، رئيس الفريق التفاوضي الخليجي، مع السيد وانغ شوين رئيس الفريق التفاوضي الصيني، نائب وزير التجارة ونائب ممثل التجارة الدولية، نتائج اجتماعات رؤساء الفرق التفاوضية بين مجلس التعاون والصين، وموضوعات تفاوضية أخرى بهدف تسريع الانتهاء من مفاوضات اتفاقية التجارة الحرة لتحقيق المصالح المشتركة.
وكان الدكتور نايف فلاح الحجرف الأمين العام لمجلس التعاون لدول الخليج العربية، قد بدأ منذ يوم /الاثنين/، زيارة الى الصين تلبية لدعوة من السيد وانغ يي، وزير الخارجية الصيني، لبحث سبل تعزيز العلاقات الخليجية – الصينية.
