Qatar’s Ambassador Honors Chinese Winners of Sh. Hamad Translation Award

Beijing: HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the People’s Republic of China Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Dehaimi hosted a ceremony honoring Ge Tieying, Wang Fu and Li Zhenzhong for winning the 2021 Sheikh Hamad Award for Translation and International Understanding in the translation from Arabic to Chinese category.
Several heads and representatives of Arab diplomatic missions accredited to the People’s Republic of China attended the honoring ceremony.
The award winners commended the role of HH the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani and all those in charge of the award, expressing their pride in winning the award, which they considered a major reason for bringing civilizations closer together, building bridges of communication between nations and peoples, and enhancing cultural cooperation between Arab countries and China.
They also considered the honor a very important gesture in their path and an incentive to do more in the translation field, stressing that their work was stemmed from their aspiration and love for the Arabic language and civilization and their passion for translation.
In a speech on this occasion, HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the People’s Republic of China Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Dehaimi said that the current civilized dialogue between the friendly Arab and Chinese nations in which the honorable professors, who are honored, played a vital role in introducing Arab civilization, culture and literature to the Chinese people by presenting many significant works, which spanned over 30 years, including Al Bukhala by Al Jahiz, Tawq Al Hamam by Raja Alim and Muqaddimah by Ibn Khaldun.
HE the Ambassador called on young Chinese translators to continue their venerable mission and crucial role as pillars of civilized dialogue between Arabs and China.
Ge Tieying won first place in the Sheikh Hamad Award for Translation and International Understanding for translating “Al Bukhala by Al Jahiz” book from Arabic into Chinese. Wang Fu won second place in the same category for translating “Tawq Al Hamam by Raja Alim” book. Li Zhenzhong won the achievement award for Bayt Al Hikmah Group.

بكين: أقام سعادة السيد محمد عبدالله الدهيمي، سفير دولة قطر لدى جمهورية الصين الشعبية، حفل تكريم للسيد قه تي بنغ والسيدة وانغ فو، والسيد لي تشن تشونغ، لفوزهم بجائزة الشيخ حمد للترجمة والتفاهم الدولي في دورتها السابعة للعام 2021 في مجال الترجمة من اللغة العربية إلى اللغة الصينية.
حضر حفل التكريم، عدد من رؤساء وممثلي البعثات الدبلوماسية العربية المعتمدة لدى جمهورية الصين الشعبية.
وأثنى الفائزون بالجائزة، على دور صاحب السمو الأمير الوالد الشيخ حمد بن خليفة آل ثاني، وكل القائمين على الجائزة، وعبروا عن فخرهم واعتزازهم بالجائزة التي اعتبروها سببا رئيسيا في تقريب الحضارات ومد جسور التواصل بين الأمم والشعوب وتعزيز التعاون الثقافي بين الدول العربية والصين.
كما اعتبروا التكريم بادرة بالغة الأهمية في مسيرتهم وحافزا لهم لتقديم المزيد من العطاء في مجال الترجمة، مؤكدين أن أعمالهم كانت باكورة تطلعهم وحبهم للغة والحضارة العربية ونتيجة لشغفهم في هذا المجال.
من جهته قال سعادة السيد محمد عبدالله الدهيمي سفير دولة قطر لدى الصين، في كلمة بهذه المناسبة “إن الحوار الحضاري الحالي بين الأمتين الصديقتين العربية والصينية لعب فيه الأساتذة الأجلاء الذين نحتفي بهم دورا مهما بتعريف ملايين الصينيين بحضارة العرب وثقافتهم وآدابهم وذلك بتقديمهم الكثير من الأعمال الهامة في عمل دؤوب امتد لأكثر من ثلاثين عاما وفي مقدمة هذه الأعمال البخلاء للجاحظ، والمقدمة لابن خلدون، وطوق الحمام”.
ودعا سعادة السفير، الشباب المترجمين الصينيين إلى مواصلة مهمتهم الجليلة ودورهم الكبير كأعمدة للحوار الحضاري بين العرب والصين.
يذكر أن الحاصل على المركز الأول في جائزة الشيخ حمد للترجمة والتفاهم الدولي من اللغة العربية إلى اللغة الصينية هو “قه تي بنغ” عن ترجمة كتاب البخلاء للجاحظ، والمركز الثاني لـ”وانغ فو” عن ترجمة رواية طوق الحمام لرجاء عالم، وجائزة الإنجاز لـ”لي تشن تشونغ” عن مجموعة بيت الحكمة للثقافة.
